    works great

Have now used this for over a year with 2 very different W10 laptops to access hard drives from dead or obsolete computers. Works fine. Will stream a BluRay image or copy files at the max rate the drive supports. You will need to use the 12V. supply to power a 3.5" drive. This adapter is the easiest SATA-USB I have ever used and I have several going back to USB1 days.

    Works Perfectly

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 7, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My PC was 6yrs old, wouldn’t restart after auto update. Back up drive had failed to back up before auto shutdown. Aggggghhhh. So thankful SATA adapter allowed me to get all data moved from Hard Drive to Laptop & external drive. It takes the Adapter a little while to access the data, just be patient, you might see some security warnings that you don’t have permissions. Just let it process. You have to remove the drive from the PC to have room for the adapter and cords to be attached. No problem, you need to do that anyhow before recycling. The cable doesn’t clip in place, it just plugs in to the pins so if you move it around it will come loose. Tape in place if you need to move the drive around, or reattach when it comes loose. I would recommend if you need your data, you probably just need the cable though, the kit has the international power adapters, so if you don’t need them save some bucks a just get the adapter cable & power cable.

    Good product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works great and I got my hard drive back. But it doesn’t stay attached to the hard drive to well. So it has to be placed correctly and not touched, or the attachment will fall off. For the sale price it’s worth it. Full price? Not worth it.

    Doesn't work

    Reviewed by - February 17, 2019

Tried on window 7 and windows 10, on 3 year old hardware (USB3.0) and 3 day old hardware (USB3.1). does not work on either. Should have stuck with my older Vantec SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter which works without fail.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - May 8, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is quick. It's on USB 3.1 and it's the best way to add an external hard drive to have nice transfer speeds. It's definitely worth purchasing. You can't go wrong with this one.

    Decent adapter for price

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - May 22, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is a good adapter for the job. Just remember it is only for SATA drives. Need to be careful and watch that when adapter is plugged into the hard drive it does not undo.

Plug it in and away you go. You get 6gb speed with SATA III and 10gb speed with 3.1 (gen 2) cables. My best buy in 2020.
