Solid Network Switch
- August 9, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in the process of upgrading my office network. After researching quality verse price I decided on purchasing the TP-Link - 8-Port 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Metal Switch. I was very impressed with this device when I received it and put it into service. It has a very solid construction. The metal case offers placement stability and it is performing perfect. Particularly like the green\yellow lights to indicate if each connection is 100 or 1000. I am pleased with my purchase and if I should need to expand beyond the 8 ports of this switch I will purchase a second identical one. The low cost makes this a very affordable solution.

Very Good 8-Port Switch
- July 4, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very good device that is reasonably priced. You take it out of the box, plug it in, connect it to your router or internet connection, attach your devices and it just sits there and works. Whenever you have to reset your internet connection or router, the switch just continues where it left off ... you do not need to unplug it or rest it. Best purchase I've made for my home office. I can run my apple TV, 32 inch Samsung LED TV (I also use it as monitor), VOIP phone and my laptop. I bought the 8-port version so that I have room to add a printer or other device later on. Best thing is that it is reasonably priced and it just works like it is supposed to.

Does the job!
- January 29, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a network switch for my On Hub router since I needed more than just a single ethernet port. I looked around, but eventually decided on a TP-LINK because I trust TP-LINK products and it just so happened that the router itself is made by TP-LINK. The colors even sort of match, so there's that. Anyway, the switch gets the job done. Setup is quick and easy, plug it into the wall, plug your stuff into in and away you go. The size is reasonable, and the metal body is nice.

Good product, great value
- March 15, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Less expensive than some other brands but performs very well. I ran tests using the "iperf" utility & there was no difference in throughput with or without the switch on the network. For reference, I tested a variety of configurations using an Apple "Time Capsule" access point & two Macs, one running OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) & the other running OS X 10.10.2 (Yosemite). All support Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbps). With or without the TP-LINK I was getting about 945 mbps real world speeds. Other pluses: the unit runs cool to the touch. The metal case is sturdy & well made. The indicator LEDs that blink to show network activity & if the port is running at 1000 mbps (green) or 10/100 mbps (amber) are useful. They are not included on the lower priced plastic cased TP-LINK models, which I believe more than justifies the price difference.

Simple, Great Brand, Good Price
- July 7, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a way to expand the number of available Ethernet ports in my network. This was a great purchase. It was well priced and I have many TP-Link items. I find them to be trustworthy. At first, I had trouble understanding how this works, but after some reading, I got the hang of it. Very easy plug & play device. Just remember to first plug the ethernet cord which will receive internet (by itself) then plug the other devices after.

solid router, no problems with TP-LINK
- May 6, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's what you expect: metal case, works fine without hanging. Just make sure you know that the LEDs are in the same location as the jacks.. Some routers have the LEDs on the front and jacks on the back. My only complaint is that the mounting slots on the back are difficult to work with. I mounted mine on the wall, and it seemed that I had to find screws that were too small for this unit considering that it needs to hold cables.

Working good so far
- November 20, 2017[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this unit to work well in small non-critical environments. It is not supposed to be a business class switch. It is small, discreet and has no fan noise which made it great for use connecting devices in my entertainment center. I am still not fond of the "power brick" adapter, but the switch that I have came with one that is smaller than other switch adapters I have seen. But you would think after all this time someone would get a clue and make a power adapter that did not use up more than 1 space on your power bar. Bottom line this unit worked for me, I did not see any of the failures others have noted, but I have only been running it for a couple of weeks. Good for home, negotiates gigabit speeds, DO NOT EXPECT to run full gigabit through all ports at all times. This is not the switch for that. Submitted as part of a free sample program.

Great network addition!!!!
- September 22, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bough this network switch when my Ethernet ports on my router were full. Solid 1 gigabit performance, even showed me a faulty network cable with the status lights. Replaced it and got 1 gigabit performance from that line. Got it installed on my living room for 4 devices: Blu-ray, game console, smart tv and tv provider dvr box which runs completely by Ethernet. Every thing running with no problem, great product.

Works like a charm
- March 19, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Disregard all the bad reviews. This item works like a charm. It's quiet and allows you to connect multiple devices without any buffering. This is the way to go not wifi. If people are having problems with this item, it's their modem that has the problem or they received a bad product. If that's the case, just send it back and receive a new unit. 5 stars across the board.

Works great
- June 12, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this switch because I needed something to replace a failed switch. I needed an 8 port switch and this really wasn't that much more than the 5 port version. I installed it and it worked with no issues. I plan on buying at least one more and maybe more to replace other switches I have around the house.
