[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've purchased two of these separated by a few weeks. They both have been flawless. I cannot speak to transfer rates as that's a don't-care for me during normal operations. One is being used for backups and the other for a database that is being continually updated. They are always connected to my computer but not being stressed under load in normal operations. Only 4 stars because I've only had them a couple of months so cannot address reliability other than surviving very short term failure. I am not using the application support that is included as I immediately reformatted both drives. So I cannot speak that support.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to buy an external drive for one of my classes and this seemed like a solid option. It is fast, has a good amount of storage, and works seamlessly with both my Mac and Windows computers. It’s incredibly light and thin, so it takes up almost no space which is helpful when you’re carrying a laptop and just want to slide something in your bag. I like the short cable because I know where the drive is on my desk!

Just got this, and move some of my docx files over and i usually save as I work, and it took 16-20 seconds to save my docs, and the Word just freezes for that amount of time - no go for me. The performance is worse than my 9 year old hard drive(not SSD!) I had high hopes or SSD speed that everyone raves about, seems worse not better. Returning.

I've had 3 Passports all with drives in the past and this is my first SSD. It was plug and play except I didn't know how to set it to backup files so had issues at first. WD support helped me thru the problem and now I think all will be fine. As with all my others this backup drive will be put to good use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this to use with my PS5 to store my PS4 games on. Initially it would not format. After a restart of the system, formatting worked for extended storage use. PS4 games load much faster than my regular hard drive on PS4. I use the front USB-C port on the PS5 to connect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] By "portable", they really mean portable! I can't believe how small this thing is. And being an SSD with a USB-C interface, it's way faster than my old desktop mechanical external drives. And kudos to WD for including a USB-A adapter if you need one. So far, so good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought to have an external back up of pictures. The included software makes importing from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive very simple. Tiny drive for the size, price was good (bought on sale), the transfer speed is much better than others due to using USB C.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid state is the way to go. This drive is so much more compact than the usual WD external drives I have gotten in the past. Plus it is much faster. I feel more confident with this lasting longer. I've had external hard drives die in the past losing data.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using on an M1 Mac Mini to hold a large database. Speeds are as advertised and works great. Seems be almost as fast as the built in SSD. Small and compact so it is easy to keep out of the way. Invested in a longer cord because the one supplied is very short.
