[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My computer was broken, and I was scared I would not be able to retrieve my data - especially with the large extent of data stored on the computer (over 200gb). This hard drive was perfect for transferring all of my data and keeping it safe - it is in no way flimsy. It is only compatible with Mac, so you’ll have to download a converter for reading if you’re looking to transfer data to windows. It came with the external hard drive, a usb-c to usb-c cord, and a usb-c to usb plug adapter. So, the product itself can be plugged into any computer without an extra adapter.

Leaving for a month-long, overseas trip in two days and was uploading all of the raw files on my SD cards to this drive and suddenly it stopped writing and said there was an error with the files. I have photos from the past year stored on here, including wedding clients, and now the drive will only work momentarily - not long enough t to transfer to a new drive. This is the last thing I needed to deal with before a trip and I'm officially done with Western Digital after this - between the Sandisk Extreme issues and now this (disk drives are old tech, seriously how hard is it to produce a functioning one), it's just not worth the stress and hassle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was on a quest to find an external drive for my iPad Pro 11” now that the new iPad OS update allows the use of them via Files app and other apps that support external use. I have the older WD My Passport 2TB with the old SATA to USB 3.0 connection and it’s rather slow, but I mainly use it for backup and an external drive for my MacBook Air. I’ve had no issue for a couple years use of it, so this Ultra usb-c to usb-c was what I was really wanting. I wanted something just as quick as the iPad Pro and it doesn’t fail me. Only gripe is I’m not able to use the encryption ability of it because the current iPadOS doesn’t support it...yet, hopefully.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my second WD My Passport in July 2022 after a previous one failed after a few years. I thought the occasional failure is inevitable so purchased this one. Nine months later this one has failed. I talked with WD directly who is willing to replace it with a refurbished one and - are you ready - they want the old disk back first. Yes, with all my private info intact and the "promise" to erase the disk and keep my data safe! YIKES. DO NOT BUY WD PRODUCTS IF YOU WANT SAFETY AND SECURITY. Two failures in less than one year and a terrible warranty policy. I'll be buying a different brand going forward.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this on the advise of the Apple store to be sure to back up my iMac ( 6 hours to do this) before bringing it in for repair. I did but the problem with the iMac concerned corrupt files so I was told NOT to restore from this external drive. I used time machine again but the electrical bower failed during the back up. When I tried to resume the error message said there were two files of the same name and ‘rename one’. In attempting to do so I may have erased both. I tried installing WD file. When I tried to backup using it it failed again. Therefore Its highest and best use is as a coffee cup coaster.

I have around 100 games and this lil thing holds them all, with plenty more free space left over for any future investments! Perfect size as well, slim and hand sized. I travel for work and it’s very convenient to take it wherever I need. Blends in with my set up, not bulky or stand offish. Highly recommend for gamers or travelers that need a bunch of extra space!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Plenty of space. I use this drive for Time Machine backups for two separate Macs. No problem creating two 1TB partitions, and don't have to worry about running out of space. Has been reliable so far and have not encountered any issues.
