A next-gen smartphone for everyone
Easy to handle
The Galaxy S20 is one of Samsung’s next-gen S20 smartphones, built with a vivid 6.2-inch Infinity O-Display that carries on the company’s tradition in making vibrant Dynamic AMOLED screens.
This display is a high-resolution panel with a hole-punch front-facing camera that blends into the surrounding screen. Sharp text and bold colours are complemented by support for HDR10+ and a 120Hz refresh rate that garners a smoother experience, no matter what you do on the phone.
It is also the smallest of the Galaxy S20 devices, making it easier to wield with one hand. An ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is built into the display to enable quicker access beyond the lock screen. PowerShare reverse wireless charging is also available to charge compatible accessories on the go.
There is 128GB of internal storage to save the content you like, along with a microSD card slot that can expand that up to 1TB.
A capable camera
The Galaxy S20 has three lenses in the rear camera, including 12-megapixel image sensors for the standard wide and ultra-wide lenses, along with a large 64-megapixel sensor for the telephoto lens.
There telephoto lens can get closer with a 3x optical zoom, or even closer with the 30x Super Resolution Zoom. Bright Night is a new mode for low-light and night photography, where artificial intelligence (AI) helps bring in more light from darker scenes.
With Single Take, it’s possible to shoot the same scene from all the rear lenses simultaneously, letting you grab more than one perspective at the same time. That includes the standard, telephoto and ultra-wide lenses, plus Live Focus and a video clip, covering all the bases in one sweep.
Capturing 8K video
The Galaxy S20 can record video in 8K resolution. That’s four times the pixels of a 4K resolution video, bringing in more detail into every shot that you can see for yourself when you cast it to a Samsung 8K QLED TV or share it on YouTube.
The resolution is high enough to grab a great still photo from each 8K video clip. A single frame can create a 33-megapixel image without having to switch between video and photo modes. Edit and share the images you splice from the video like you would any other still photo.
Pro Video mode is a new mode in the Galaxy S20 that lets you manually control how your video will look before you record anything. There are settings for light sensitivity, framerate and more to tweak composition to your preference.
The Galaxy S20 is compatible with 5G next-generation wireless networks. It is among the first smartphones in Canada that can connect to any 5G wireless network that carriers in the country offer. It can also work with 5G networks in other countries.
What makes 5G significant is that it offers faster data speeds than current LTE connections, cutting down the time it takes to surf, stream and browse. That lessens the time it takes to download content to watch or upload content to share. The Galaxy S20 is made for the present and the future and it fits in your hands.
