Go for a ride in a Diono car seat
Diono’s wide range of car seats are known for unique features like foldability, slim designs, and FAA approval for flights.
What makes Diono car seats unique?
Diono car seats employ neat features including foldable designs so they are easy to transport and store and FAA approval for use on airplanes. Additional features include 12-position adjustable head supports in some models, and SuperLATCH connectors for simple click installation. Known to be slim in design as well, they are especially attractive options for small cars.
With removable, washable seat covers, expandable seats, and a variety of vibrant colours from which to choose, there’s a lot of variety in the Diono car seat line.
Diono offers both convertible car seats for babies from newborn age to toddler, from 4-120 lbs., as well as booster seats for older kids who have not yet reached the age, height, and/or weight requirements to stop using one, or for parents who prefer using extra caution for as long as possible.
What is the difference among Diono car seat models?
Diono’s range of car seats most notably includes the Radian, QX, Cambria, and Monterey lines. The Radian 3R and 3 RX series car seats are the most basic options, with the 3 RX adding a 2-in-1 head support for extra cushioning, making it the better option for newborns who don’t yet have control over their head movements.
Also good for kids from newborn age are the Diono Q Series car seats, which are upgraded with extended side walls for side impact protection, a steel anti-rebound bar for use when rear-facing, enhanced memory foam seat cushions, high wedge for newborns, and a 12-position headrest that adjusts higher than in other seats.
In the booster line for older kids, there’s the Monterey XT, a 2-in-1 high-back for kids from 40-120 lbs. that is flexible, lightweight, and portable with expandable sides; and the Cambria, also a 2-in-1 model for kids from 40-120 lbs.
Which Diono car seat should you choose?
If you are looking for a car seat for a newborn, your best bet is the Diono Radian 3RXT or Q series models which are suitable for babies as small as 4 lbs. and offer extra head support. For a secondary seat for the grandparents or car baby might only be travelling occasionally in, ones like the Radian R series might suffice.
If you drive often with baby or value the added protection, upgrade to the Q series for extra comfort and extended side impact protection.
For older kids, both the Monterey and Cambria Diono booster seat models are good options, and both can transform into a backless booster when needed. The Monterey is the lighter weight option, ideal if you travel often or will be frequently transferring the seat from one car to another.
