Bower's HT77 77mm Tulip Lens Hood is used to block the sun or other light source in order to prevent glare and lens flare. The tulip shape prevents the hood from blocking the field of view of the lens and producing vignetting. Flower shaped lens hoods are most often used on zoom lenses as a normal lens hood may block the field of view on some zoom settings.

This 52mm Pro Series Hard Tulip Shaped Lens Hood prevents image-degrading lens flare by blocking stray light from striking the surface of the lens. It also assists in keeping moisture or wind blown debris off the lens.
