    Great amplifier

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 8, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This amplifier fits the need for the everyday car stereo enthusiast. The footprint of this amp is SMALL. I installed this under my driver seat and used the kicker 8 amp kit. Now before anyone criticizes this amp does ask for a 4 AWG kit and I spoke with a rep at Alpine who told me that the kicker 8 AWG kit is just fine for my purposes especially since I was installing it under my driver seat. My reason for installing it under my driver seat was A) I did not want any aftermarket items showing in my car B) this also shortened the power cable requirements thus allowing me to use the 8 AWG kit. This amp is a powering a JL Audio 8in W3 woofer. My car is 2013 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Coupe. I kept everything stock as far as head unit and stock amp which powers my Polk Audio DB series component and rears. They sound great using the stock amp but I am sure better if I used a more powerful/cleaner amp. The JL Audio sub is in a custom sealed box which is mounted under the rear deck with the original sub removed. The entire rear deck, top and underneath have been sound dampened, the entire trunk including the spare tire well, has been sound dampened. The draw is around 300W RMS and this has been a VAST sound improvement over the stock "premium" sound system. The Alpine M500 amp never even gets warm and this is running for long periods of time, installation was a snap only took 25 mins to install amp (if you know what you are doing and do your homework on where to run your wires). This amp is truly a winner.

Alpine Amp "Need I say more"

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 21, 2013

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seriously, this is my second Alpine amp and it is killing it! :) The amp pushes a 10" Alpine Type R, i picked up used from craigslist and it really hits and sounds like a 12" sub. The price was $199, but they matched an online price with crutchfield for $149, so you just can't beat that. They don't match all online prices only with their selected competition, but luckily I found one and saved $50. Get it, you will be very happy and by the way, I used to run the same amp a few years back on a 12" type R and that pounded so much that it was too much bass for my little vw bug that I owned. Cheers!

    Not bad

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - October 15, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the amp but replaced a JBL amp because it failed. The JBL does have more power than the Alpine. I now have received the JBL back from warranty and both of them are now installed. If I had to pick or the other though it would be the JBL. Of the 5 amps in the car all but one are alpine which is never a bad bet.

Alpine what else can be said!

    Reviewed by - August 27, 2014

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Alpine is a name you can trust, the deck in my truck has lasted 11 years and is Alpine and not once had an issue. This amp sounds great and for such a small footprint of a install it would fit under almost any seat, but it went under my trucks backseat! Only one issue i found, the Crutchfield website lists the amp able to handle a 1ohm load where Alpines does not show the spec so i sent a question to Alpine on Facebook to clarify the difference in data between the 2 sites!

    Great dedicated subwoofer amp

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - July 5, 2013

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I am very satisfied with this amplifier. The unit fits right underneath my seat in the back of my SUV. The wiring was a bit different mostly because I had to sand the bare metal to get a good ground wire connection. The amp feels solid and delivers an instant punch. I really am surprised at the value for the money, I enjoy it and would stress that I'm not out to win any bass competition contests, but this delivers an amazing 300 RMS to my single dvc subwoofer.

    Perfect Amp!

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - November 28, 2018

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this amp to go with a 12" sub and enclosure I laying around. Installed it in in about 20 minutes and it sounds amazing! I ended up purchasing the bass control knob as well as I wanted to keep my head unit stock. This amp puts out more than enough power with plenty to spare! Really doesn't heat up much at all, small enough to fit under a seat or In the spare tire well in the trunk. Good build and great performance for the price.

    Glad I bought it new

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, I bought the open box version of this product that when powered would not go out of protect mode. I returned the open box version and bought this amp brand new and I am glad I did and stuck with it. This makes my 12" Kicker Comp VR pound. It is very easy to mount, has a compact design and is wicked powerful. I have always had good luck with alpine products when they work and am very glad I made this purchase.

    Great amplifier! Easy installation!

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - January 3, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This amp is clean and easy to install. The only wire I had to run to the trunk was the power wire. Since our 2014 Honda Accord coupe had a factory sub woofer, we just used that pair of wires at the factory sub and wired it directly into the amp. No line level converter or RCA cables needed. The factory touch screen subwoofer control works great with this setup. The line level input with also function as a remote turn on for the amp. No need to find and tap into power in the fuse box and run that wire to the trunk. Amp is powerful and runs cool, the crossover does a great job. The bass boost control is excellent. I am running one 15 inch sub with plenty extra power. I ran a #4 fused power wire and #4 ground, I have zero alternator whine or any thumping when turning the car on. Highly recommend this series of amplifiers. Great quality, features and value in its class.

    Awesome!

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - February 28, 2018

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This amp really puts out the power! I have it paired with one Alpine SWS-12D4 and Metra 12" single ported enclosure TCBXP-112. I have it setup with the integrated line in converter thats featured with this amp so no remote wire needed. It has instant response for when the stereo is turned on and off. Couldn't ask for a better Amp at this price point and size! This was installed in my 16 Taurus SHO and absolutely SLAMS!
