What customers are saying

The webcam provides good video quality and clarity in well-lit environments. The microphone performs adequately for most use cases, and many users found the webcam easy to set up and use. However, the manual focus can be tricky to adjust, the field of view is narrow, and some users experienced issues with the camera freezing or disconnecting. The build quality is also not the highest, with the lens cover and mounting mechanism feeling a bit flimsy. Overall, the webcam offers good value for basic video calls and meetings, but users with more advanced needs may want to consider a premium option.

Great WEBCAM for meetings or online classes

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 5 février 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really enjoying this camera! It was truly effortless to set-up on my home desktop, as my monitor did not come with a camera or microphone, so needed one for my virtual meetings now a regular part of life. Additionally purchased another one for my grandson to do his online classes as the smaller screen on his chromebook was so small would get headaches after a few hours of class-time. Now he has a huge 24" monitor to view his teacher & class materials!! All possible with the Aluratek webcam!! Also the camera does mount on the top of monitor easily, however his teachers requested a complete view of students sitting position, so placed bit lower as result.

Picture is great, but unusable due to holder.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 27 janvier 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The camera quality is great! Plug and play. Although, the swivel thing that holds the camera SUCKS. Around 100 days after I bought it, the camera holder isn’t firm. So it looks up at my ceiling or down at my lap and I have to duct tape it or buy a holes for $20-50 dollars. The camera was cheaply priced but not when I have to buy something to hold it. The screw thing cant even be used with another accessory I purchased because the camera thing that it attaches to lost it’s firmness. If you don’t know what I mean, basically attach a camera to the end of a gummy worm and try to get a usable picture out of it without buying a holder.

    Good picture, terrible microphone.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 9 octobre 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this because the similar Logitech model wasn’t available. There are things I like about it, having a thread for a tripod and being able to rotate 360 degrees are nice features. The picture is solid at about 2.5ft away, any closer starts to fisheye quickly. The microphone is terrible quality however, which is disappointing. Lots of background hissing and speech comes through very compressed and warped. Currently for Discord I am using this camera but have an older 720p webcam plugged in just to use its microphone. It is possible the mic in this is a dud, but I am wondering if I should have just spent more money on the next higher model of Logitech.

First and continued use of webcam Aluratek 1080 HD

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 14 mars 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy set up, also easy to center on the individual and not their background that usually consists of a mess during this pandemic. And just as important very affordable. During these trying times more and more of us have migrated home, where many of us will stay for the possibly permanent future, possibly permanently as we have discovered during this New Normal that much of what we did in a brick and mortar allows us to troubleshoot for ourselves, which helps with our cognitive and we can do just as well if not better at home. To display these abilities but you need a high quality, affordable and durable webcam. Thank You

    Weird design

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 12 février 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like it because it's light-weight, sturdy, and gets the job done. It took a long time to figure out how to attach it to my laptop, it kinda made me panic for a second because I didn't see how it attached to my laptop and had a screw socket on the bottom. What am I supposed to do with that? The way to attach it to your laptop seems kinda wrong and seems awkward. The lens cap is bizarre. The outer cap has a window to pop open for the lens, but this entire piece pulls off with the slightest force. I think it pulls a piece of the lens that helps you focus the lens. Wierd tech. Gets the job done. 2.5 stars.

Nice compromise of price and image quality

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 22 janvier 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice compact inexpensive camera that has good video quality. The main feature it does not have is autofocus. Unless you move around a lot changing your distance from the camera significantly, this isn't needed in my opinion and this camera shows this to be true. Mounting is versatile and it will adjust to the top of most monitors without interfering with the viewing area. The microphone works fine. I have used it with Webex and MS Teams conference calling with no issues. Setup was easy. Just plug it in. It is necessary to click a button or 2 to allow the software to use the camera and microphone, but it asks. The lens cover provides guaranteed privacy when not being used.

    Ok webcam, worthless privacy shutter

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 18 octobre 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall it seems to be a decent webcam for the price. The picture is good once you can get it focused, but that can be a pain (you have to turn the lens). I took a star away for the privacy shutter. I bought this one over a cheaper one because I wanted the privacy shutter....it’s basically useless. It doesn’t stay on, it just falls off. And if you can get it on, once you try to turn the cover to open it then it just spins...or worse spins the lens so you’re out of focus. Yes it’s a decent enough webcam, it will do the job, but overall I feel like I should have saved the extra money I spent on this one.

    Overall good camera

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 5 décembre 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This camera works great. I use it several times a day for video calls. I cleaned the lense and inadvertently turned the knob. It caused the camera to go out of focus and I didn't ealize what I had done until I googled it. It's a manual focus camera! I was more careful when I put the privacy cover on. I wish it would clip on to the top of my monitor and not move though. I found the perfect angle, accidentally bumped my desk, and it shifted. So I'm trying not to bump my desk and I learned to hold the camera with one hand to keep it still and then use the other hand to move the privacy lense. I haven't used the mic so I don't know if that's any good - I use headphones instead.

    A+

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 21 septembre 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using the Alturatek HD webcam for a couple weeks now. Compared to our laptop camera this is a huge improvement. Super easy to just plug and go. Our computer had no problems recognizing the webcam. We are quite satisfied. The only improvement I would make or suggest is to make the manual focus easier. You screw the lense left or right to focus and while it works it does feel like this could break eventually. Also we received a lense cover but it does not fit the webcam that we purchased. Over all this is an easy plug and go webcam and is a huge improvement from stock computer webcams.
