Unit runs silently. I'd say the 80mm fan runs around 300-400rpm up until the load reaches about 70%, then the fan increases RPM, but still quieter than any APC UPS i have used in the past. Externally the UPS feels cold to the touch, which means internally it runs very cool. (always a good thing for the batteries). This has improved from the older SUA models, which always ran warmer. Also, when in battery mode the transformer buzzing noise is far less than previous models. Bottom line is, anyone needing a UPS to run quietly in a test environment should get this. (no I don't work for APC)

For years, the SUA and SMT1500RM have been best sellers in the medium size UPS market, and with good reason – it's extremely hard to beat for sheer value. Now, with the addition of APC's SmartConnect (an enabling feature that allows customers to view the status of their UPS through a secure web portal), most user's won't need the additional expense of a NM card. Which saves substantial $$$!

The APC Smart UPS 1500VA LCD is a very worthwide purchase. It works very good. We have got two of these for over 5 years. Once I had to change the batteries. This is absolutly no problem. You don`t have to shutdown the servers respectively the UPS. Open the front, pull out the batteries, disconnect, connect the new batteries, push them in and close the front.

Simple and straight forward UPS used to protect and provide power backup for an Application Server. The UPS was easily connected to the server. Our client had the UPS up and running quickly without a hitch. We will recommend this model to other clients for their server rooms.

The SMT1500RM2UC is a great model for smaller racks. It has offered great protection as the battery backup for our small server and network switch. I highly recommend this for your smaller datacenter and office implementations.

This product has been very helpful to my customer who is trying to create a network of battery back ups for their security business. This UPS enables them to know when a UPS has a problem. Saves time and money on truck rolls.

These are a staple in any small business environment with a rack. Only takes up 2U of space and provides 1500VA with a nice LCD readout and the remote management SmartConnect software. Definitely recommended!

I bought a replacement for an older model. It was easy to install, basically just plugged it to the wall and plugged our equipment into it. It comes with software and documentation on two CDs.
