I recently replaced the battery in my APC Back-up surge suppressor. The purchase process is easy, the cost is low, the old battery recycle return is free, and best of all, the service is rapid. I have used APC Back-up and surge suppressing equipment to protect my computer and accessories for many years. We do experience occasional power failures, but we have never sustained any damage. Nor have we ever lost any data due to power interruption. It may be impossible to prove a negative, but considering the low cost to protect your equipment, and the high cost of replacing it, it only makes sense to me spend a little to save a lot.

I purchased a replacement battery for my APC UPS-Backup unit for my tower computer through Schneider Electric. It was so easy to replace. The battery was received in the mail within three days. I had a couple of questions that were answered by their technical staff. I am very satisfied with my new battery.

I have purchased replacement batteries this way for years and it has always been easy and a value. However, it used to be that you would send a shipping label with the purchase and so one could just put the old battery back in the box the new one had shipped in, slap on the label and send it back to you to be properly recycled and keep costs low. It had been some time since my last purchase and i did not receive a return label this time. Not sure if it was an oversight or you all simply stopped this process.

Purchased original Back-UPS ES 550 unit 3 years ago at electronics store. Was warned via software after 3 years that battery needed replacing. Ordered battery from APC directly, since other on-line stores sold product for either the same price or more. Cam in mail in just a couple of days and very easy to replace in unit. Everything back to normal now, and ease of mind knowing I have backup power for PC. Overall very happy with APC unit, battery and software from APC.

The battery replacement was received in a timely manner and easy to install which I always attribute to a great job of engineering. We have been using the APC backup system with both of our computers for about 9 years, a blessing during any of our power outages and living in the country that can happen fairly often! It is great when working on the computer and a surprise power outage occurs, plenty of time to complete a normal shutdown.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] APC Smart UPS 1000, upgraded to a 1500 have been used for years for my computers with a few battery replacements, the 1500 still working. Now thls smaller UPS p-apcrbc110 battery is used with a smaller Back-UPS 600 for desk lights and soon for a 55" Samsung SmartTV 4K to be installed on a wall. The Back-UPS 600 was given to me by a neighbor, needing a new battery, now powering and surge protecting with the new p-apcrbc110 battery.

Dropped the new battery in and it works. 'Nuff said. Had some problem connecting the wires--they didn't seem to fit too well. Would have liked a lower cost but considering I won't need a new one for three years, it's not too bad. I thought you had to reset the three year battery timer in the software, but the instructions that came with the battery did not mention this and I couldn't find it when I looked. (didn't look too hard.)

My APC unit is 10 years old but otherwise perfectly serviceable. So when the original battery died, replacing it with the same part made sense, financially and environmentally. The only reason I gave it less than 5 stars is the inaccurate recycling information for the old battery: none of the local locations listed on the APC website will take this kind of battery. I will end up having to ship it elsewhere for recycling.

Our original APC battery lasted far longer than expected, quite a few years. When the UPS indicated by a steady tone that it was no longer any good, it was straightforward for us to go to their website, find the original model (took a bit of searching to get the exact model, given they have so many and we purchased ours some decade back), and order the replacement. It arrived promptly, was a tad pricey but not out of range and certainly saved compared to buying a new UPS. (One note: The replacement battery was larger than the original battery - a kind-of bonus, but required us to carve out some plastic standoffs inside the UPS battery compartment to get it to fit. Looks like the original UPS was designed with this new battery size in mind, and perhaps at the last moment in production put in the standoffs as they ended up with the smaller battery, perhaps availability or cost-driven.)

I bought an APC battery and it is now happily working away at powering my computer with no performance issues. The only issue I had was getting the wires done and that may have been something to do with me rather than the actual wires as I found it confusing and frustrating to put them on correctly so I had to have my father do it for me. Now that it is correctly done and working, all is well.
