Amazing 1440p monitor
- October 5, 2018[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This monitor is very expensive, but also very good. Breaking the 60hz barrier is such a huge difference if you have the gpu for it. Until there’s a high end gpu that can push 144+hz continuously, 1440p is the way to go. This monitor looks incredible. Some monitorphiles have complained about bright corners, but I can’t tell if this does or not. I use this for almost exclusively gaming and if I had a lighter corner when watching a letterboxed movie in a dark room I would do that in my living room. But sweet monitor! I’m probably 30% better at fps games even without practice. Being able to see people jump around up close is nice.

As of yet, the best 1440p 16:9 monitor!
- September 17, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All the features this monitor packs are executed perfectly! Monitor is well calibrated out of the box especialy on the default scenery mode. i had this monitor and the Acer's XB271HU side by side and I can tell u the screen on this one is much brighter (acers whites looks a bit more yellowish). The OSD/Menu is much easier to navigate on the Asus as it has a directional pad. The only downside this has over the acer is price. The acer equivalent of this model is around $100-200 cheaper. Overall this is a great masterful monitor. However i did return mine (along with the acer) because i got the 34 widescreen version of this which has roughly the same features but wider.

No Bleeding
- November 22, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I went and bought online and then picked it up at the store. I changed the background color to all black and didn't see any bleeding. No clouding and some minor IPS glow but all monitors have IPS glow. GTX 970 on Witcher 3 at 40-59 fps with gsync on and I didn't see any tearing or noticable lag. Monitor Callibration: Brightness 42 | Contrast 47 | Saturation 50 | Red 100 |Green 95 | Blue 95 | Cool Color 0 | Deeps sleep off CON: Only thing I found bad with the monitor is there is no button to switch between Display Port and HDMI. The option is deep in the menu. Also, uncheck the deep sleep for both HDMI and DP as the computer might not display when turning on the PC.

Fantastic Power for Real Gaming
- April 4, 2020I run three ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q. I occasionally run them in surround and love it. When I game online I run them separate for maps and other open windows and I love that too. The picture is great. The response time is amazing at 165hz. This monitor is so good that I sold my 4k monitor to buy another one. I honestly believe this is the best gaming monitor available or I would not have bought three. I run three NVIDIA 1080ti liquid cooled in SLI to power three monitors.

Does not operate as advertised
- June 28, 2017[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Be aware if you run this monitor in a multi-monitor setup in Windows 10 with a 60Hz secondary monitor you will be forced to run the PG279Q at 120Hz or you will see noticeable fps dips and skipping in videos. It's not something Asus, Microsoft, or Nvidia want to openly advertise. The only way to run this hardware at spec with a 60hz monitor is to run Windows 7 with Aero disabled. Links below detail the issue along with an official response from Nvidia on how to resolve it (set your monitors to 120hz/60hz): https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/949367/144hz-60hz-stuttering-can-we-soon-get-a-fix-for-this-/

Fantastic Gaming Monitor
- November 9, 2017[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave a lot of thought between this and the comparable Acer predator. Based on my research and testing the Asus is your best bet, same panel, but the stand and overall construction of the Asus is far above the Acer model. Using the monitor controls it was very simple to overclock to 165hz, and see amazing performance in game. Using 2560x1440 @ 165Hz, I was at max settings in Overwatch w/ a render % of 75. This was giving me the desired frame rate and exceptional quality. In order to pull these settings I also upgrade my video card to a Asus ROG Strix 1080. If you are on the edge or are just not sure, if you have the cash it is a great option and a wonderful purchase.

Best Monitor BY FAR
- April 12, 2017[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay so I read the reviews and was just a tiny bit skeptical about the light bleeding & dead pixel, but honestly that is just 100% pure bad luck. DO NOT make your decision based off those negative reviews. This monitor is so beautiful, runs fantastic with my GTX 1080 graphics card. I could not believe the difference between this monitor and basic HD monitors. The IPS panel makes the colors vibrate and makes gaming all that much better. Buy this if you can afford! Like all technology you buy for longevity. Do not buy some cheap $200 monitor if you expect it to last and have good quality for over 2 years.

Best IPS with Gsync 1440p monitor
- February 9, 2019[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best monitor I have ever owned. This is a great monitor for those who have a beefy Nvidia graphics at least a GTX 1070 or higher card and who cares about color. I used to have a regular 60hz monitor and thought that it was fine until I finally tried a high refresh rate monitor in store and was hooked. The only thing is that most gaming monitors have a TN panel (cheaper) and coming from a 60hz IPS I couldn’t bring myself to buy a TN panel since I was spoiled by the goodness of IPS. So if you want a monitor with good color accuracy and have a decent nvidia gpu and can afford it this is a great monitor.

Returned
- March 16, 2017[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice looking monitor but I had to return it because the left half of the screen had vertical lines running through it. Tried using different cables, drivers, and computers and all had the same lines. If this was a stocking product I wouldn't have minded switching it out but since it has to be ordered I didn't want to keep taking a chance so I changed to a different monitor.

Picture perfect for me
- December 3, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upgraded from an 8 year old 22 inch 1080p 59 mhz, i guess there is some backlight bleed or whatever, but i don't care. Out of the box just plug in wires, the stand is sweeeet and then set up color balance (lots of ez guides out there) It was expensive, but also a long term investment that will see tons of use.
