Bose is king
- July 17, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bose does it again. This tv speaker is amazing. Nice clear crips sound. You can hear the small details to make your at home movie watch seem like you're in a theater. Perfect for gaming. I can hear the enemy footsteps near me and my team talking so if I dont feel like using headphones I still know what's going on in the match. So much sound from such a small product. I've been a bose fan for years and have always focused on headphones and earplugs. But this is a must buy. Easy installation, sleek nice design. Fits perfectly under tv part of you want it to sit flushed. Amazing sounds quality. Remote is that perfect medium size where you know its not small enough to loose or get bke on a fall or step on. Which I have done with other brand's remotes. Even packaging is perfect. Worth every penny. I highly recommend this product.

Bose is sound king
- July 17, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bose does it again. Crisp detailed sound. Great for at home movie nights. And perfect for gaming. I can hear the enemy's footsteps and my team talking with out having to use my headset. Love the sleak design. Fits under my tv if I want it to sit flushed. Not this bulky speaker that takes up space and seems to be all you see. Most tv speakers can be bulky but not thse. Love the bluetooth capabilities. Makes life easier. Easy setup. Even packaging was done well. No bulky boxes so I'm able to save the box for when I move. Remote is perfect medium size. I have lost and stepped on and broken other brand speakers made so cheaply. So I appreciate this remotes size yet not the size. Bose has been my favorite brands for headphones so I'm glad I gave speaker a change. It's worth every penny. And this company is amaze with their customer service if needed. I highly recommend it.

Solid construction, small footprint but capable
- June 22, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Even before opening the box I was impressed, when the packaging is this good you know you're in for a treat and I wasn't disappointed. The unit has a real quality feel to it despite its compact dimensions and in comparison to the large Onkyo 5.1 system it was replacing it's tiny. Connectivity on my old TV (plasma!) was challenging to begin with, Viera link wasn't working as expected and various things had to be tried including the optical cable but after a bit of relearning and TV option changing the Bose sprang into live via HDMI-ARC and has been flawless since. Initially I was a little disappointed with the sound, a bit flat, lacking the kind of depth I was hoping for but with the bass level increased and the volume turned up it comes alive and impresses. It's also fair to say that you need to experience a range of programs to get an idea of what it can do, some channels don't allow it to shine whereas others really seem to be in tune with it and allow it to impress a great deal. Considering the relatively low price for a Bose product, and initial setup issues due to my system not withstanding, it's a fantastic option to consider that allows some expansion to add extra bass too. Personally I think the output feels a little narrow but that's probably due to me going from a quality separates system with incredibly detailed fine tuning of the sound stage, as a basic upgrade from onboard TV speakers it's a huge leap forward.

Great Sound in a Small Package
- June 18, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned several different Bose speakers and headphones, but this is my first experience with one of their soundbars. I've listened to countless hours of music on Bose products, so I was curious to see how TV shows and movies would sound through Bose's new "TV Speaker" soundbar. To my delight, the soundbar is incredibly easy to set up and offers a dramatic improvement in sound quality over the built-in speakers of my bedroom TV. PROS: - Virtually anyone can set up this soundbar -- all it takes is one cable to your TV. If your TV supports it, use an HDMI cable and connect it to the soundbar and the HDMI ARC port on your TV. This will allow for the best experience as you are able to control the soundbar's volume and power with your TV's existing remote control. If your TV doesn't have an HDMI ARC port, use the included optical cable instead. - The soundbar is the perfect size for bedrooms or smaller entertainment stands. It is also the perfect height that it does not block any part of my TV screen. The soundbar is less than two feet wide and should fit nicely under nearly any TV. - There is a night-and-day different in audio quality from the soundbar compared to my TV's built-in speakers. Dialogue is clearer, bass is deeper, and music much richer. It is not overpowering -- everything just sounds crisp, clean, and plenty loud. There really isn't much of a surround sound effect -- so don't expect this to breath new life into action movies -- but this soundbar shouldn't be compared to high-end offerings from Sony or Sonos. But for smaller living rooms and bedrooms, the Bose TV Speaker delivers excellent sound for casual TV and movie watching. - The soundbar is compatible with the Bose 500 and 700 bass modules (sub-woofers) if you want to add even more bass, although these cost more than the soundbar itself and require a separate connection cable (not included). - The included remote control lets you increase bass levels and turn on Dialogue Mode for even clearer vocals. Both features work well and make a noticeable difference - especially Dialogue Mode, which really helps when watching news programs or talk shows. CONS: - HDMI ARC is the preferred way to connect the soundbar, but Bose does not provide an HDMI cable in the box. - There is a light on the front of the soundbar that illuminates when the soundbar is on. The light is small and rather dim, but I have caught my eyes looking at it several times when the room is dark. When you turn on Dialogue Mode, the light turns green, which makes it much more noticeable to me. I wish there were a way to turn off the light or set it so that it turns on only when adjusting volume. - There are no HDMI inputs on the soundbar, so you cannot plug source devices like your cable box or Apple TV directly into the soundbar. So, by using HDMI ARC, you are sacrificing one of the HDMI ports on your TV exclusively for this soundbar. If you have a lot of devices plugged into your TV, this could be an issue. - There is no apparent way to tell what volume level the soundbar is at. The light on the soundbar blinks when you adjust volume, but there's no way of knowing how many levels of adjustment there are or how far you are from max volume. - Depending on your TV, the soundbar may block the IR sensor for your TV's remote control. On my LG TV, the IR sensor is directly under the screen on the front of the TV, just behind where the soundbar sits. I have had to reach my arm a bit higher to get the remote signal to register. OVERALL: All things considered, those minor cons don't distract from the excellent sound that is produced from this small, compact soundbar. Most other soundbars in this category have the same limitations; I just wish Bose would have been a leader and found a creative way to address those issues while keeping the price down. But I expect these things won't be of concern for the majority of people looking at this soundbar. If you simply want an easy, affordable way to improve your TV viewing, it doesn't get much better than this. Recommended!

Vocals are hard to hear over background sound.
- June 16, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] BUILD QUALITY/AESTHETICS: It is solid. There is no creaking anywhere on the device. It has a good weight to it. The shell is mostly plastic with the grill being metal. It has minimal branding with a small writing of “Bose” in the middle of the device. Overall, it looks very sleek. The inputs are on the back right of the device. Which include HDMI (ARC) x1, Optical In x1, Aux In x1, Service x1, Bass (for external bass device) x1, and power x1. There are two LED areas to notify you if you are on TV or Bluetooth. There are NO BUTTONS on the device itself. Which means if you lose the remote you are out of luck and have a large expensive paper weight. The battery for the remote is also a watch battery. BLUETOOTH: The setup process is easy. Simply press the Bluetooth button on the remote, it will change the LED to a pulsating blue light with a jingle. Then go to your Bluetooth settings on your phone and select “Bose TV Speaker” and it will make a little chime and the LED will go to white. Do keep in mind to go back to normal sound you have to press the TV button on your remote. How do you know which one you are on? You can check which LED is on. If the white LED is on the left, then it is TV. If on the right, Bluetooth. They really should have color coated these. As I think going to white after connecting for the Bluetooth is silly since the LED for TV is also white. If you get up close to the soundbar you can also see if it is on TV or Bluetooth as well (see picture). SOUND QUALITY: The most important part of a sound bar is the sound. I made sure to leave this stock as I am sure that is how most people will listen to it. Meaning I did not adjust the bass and I did not have voice clarity on. As if it is a good speaker you should not need that. I will note that turning on the voice clarity did help, but only mildly, and was usually still not enough for those shows that I had difficulty hearing vocals with. I would say my viewing experience was 50/50. So, 50% of the time I had no problems hearing people and the other 50% I had great difficulty with or without the voice clarity setting on. To the point I had to turn on subtitles to prevent my speaker from blasting. As in those times if I had the volume loud enough to hear the vocals the background music would be so loud it would hurt my ears. I run all my speakers through 14 different songs that test a bunch of things to identify the sound profile for that product. Which I then use to try to objectively compare to other products. It also, gives me an idea how it will perform in multiple scenarios. I will start with audiophile terms and then go to laymen terms. The overall balance of the soundbar is poor. Background sound, usually highs and/or music, often overpower vocals. Especially those in the mid or bass range. It does much better with highs (female voices). However, all vocals sound veiled and congested, and you must focus to understand what they are saying and even then, details are often lost. Bass is anemic in most things. However, if you do adjust the base (which I recommend) it can become boomy and solid without ruining the sound further. It actually improves the overall sound. Mids show a lot of bloat. Highs are solid and I have no problems with them. All sounds lack full texture, punch, and dynamic range. It has great separation. Overall sound is not as natural as I want, and timbre is slightly off making things sound more processed than I would like. Soundstage is small and forward. It does not have any brightness, crispness, depth, detail, harshness, lushness, or sibilance. Moving onto simpler terms. The soundbar does not fill the room as much as it just shoots sound directly at you. For example, there are some speakers when you play something the sound surrounds you and sounds very realistic as if they are in the room with you. Other times it sounds like it is coming from a specific device from a specific and limited location and you have to be facing it to get the best sound. That is what these sound like. This speaker also focuses too much on the background noise for shows/movies. To the point I can hear birds chirping, a busy restaurant, traffic, and the ambiance fine. However, when someone goes to speak, I cannot understand what they are saying because the volume is too low for their voice and it just is not clear. Almost like someone is speaking through a mask. To the point where I have to turn up the volume and it makes it sound like I’m 80 years old when really I’m in my 20’s. I like low volume and not blasting it so my neighbors can hear what I’m watching. Bass also does not hit hard unless adjusted in which case it does. Mids are terrible all around. Highs are great. However, all sound is surface level. It lacks realistic tone, character, and depth. Overall, I do not like the sound. As I have an easier time hearing people talk with my normal TV speakers over this soundbar. Which defeats the entire purpose. PROS: -Build quality, appearance, and remote. CONS: -Sound quality and lack of buttons on the device itself. Also, a watch battery for the remote? CONCLUSION: I will keep this brief. The whole point of a soundbar is to be able to hear things better. I can hear nuances in shows that I normally cannot. However, I trade being able to hear those nuances instead of voices. Which is the main reason why we watch TV is to hear other people talk to drive a plot forward. Since it does this poorly, I simply cannot recommend this product. As much as I do not want it to be, it is a pass for me.

Great Theater Sound
- July 14, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it! This Bose TV Speaker has the most amazing sound. It is as if you are sitting in the theater watching a moving! It is so easy to set up and use and the fact it comes with a remote control Is the icing on the cake. The one thing it needs is a way to tell if the base is coming from the TV or the Speaker, also a digital window that shows the speaker volume, as there is no way to tell how high the volume is and if you have hearing issues, like me..well... it can get loud to other family members. But other then that, This is One of the Best TV Speakers made!

Small and Mighty TV Speaker!
- June 10, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Bose TV Speaker delivers clear dialogue and adds just enough bass to make most content much more enjoyable compared to using only the native TV speakers. In the package are a remote, the speaker, an optical cable and a power cord. Setup is very simple. There are two LED indicators in the front for the TV and Bluetooth modes. Accepted connections are Aux (3.5mm), Bluetooth (version 4.2), Optical and HDMI ARC (from your TV if equipped). With the recommended 3.5mm cable, Bose's series of Bass Modules can be connected for even more bass via a dedicated port. In my case, I used the optical cable for my TV connection. The HDMI ARC configuration provides the ability to control the Bose TV Speaker with your actual TV speaker. The included remote control allows you to adjust bass settings, toggle between TV/Bluetooth modes and adjust the volume of the speaker. The final port on the rear is a USB for service/software updates. A great feature is the ability of the speaker to automatically “wake” upon turning on your TV. The bass delivered, as previously stated, is very gratifying and is just the right amount to keep the neighbors in apartment or even townhouse settings happy. A Dialogue mode isolates dialogue/vocals from TV or Bluetooth content for better perception; the appropriate LED is lit green when this feature is enabled. The Bluetooth setup is also very easy: for the first connection, you press the Bluetooth button (the LED pulsates blue), scan with your device for Bose TV Speaker and pair. Once connected, cellphones/tablets (and other wireless devices) are able to deliver richer sound content to fill moderately sized rooms. The speaker can store up to 8 devices through subsequent pairing processes; you will need to hold the Bluetooth button down for about two seconds to enable the pairing mode/pulsating blue LED . We have another winner from Bose. The Bose TV Speaker combines a compact formfactor (at barely 2 feet long and 2 inches tall) with the right amount of power and functionality for versatility in a myriad of applications. Saying it has exceeded my expectations sounds cliché as I have come to expect nothing less from Bose.

Sounds Great
- August 3, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sounds great. It was a little difficult programming usage with Apple TV remote. I had to program a universal remote to the sound bar then use that to program the Apple TV. Also, the minting screws are on the bottom side of the sound bar requiring a more expensive mounting kit that includes "L" brackets. I have a video on the mounting of this soundbar on my YouTube channel.

Better sound really helps improve TV watching
- July 20, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Bose TV Speaker dramatically improves the sound from my TV. Speech and mid frequencies are much easier to hear and discern. With the built-in speakers speech was sometimes indistinguishable and I had to increase the volume to occasional uncomfortable levels. There is now bass and some rumble where there was previously none. The highs are also improved from the built-in TV speakers, there is some sparkle and increased clarity there as well. This improvement is noticed most dramatically when watching movies or concerts, but regular everyday, casual watching benefits as well. Once you get use to the better sound it is difficult to go without a soundbar for your television. Setup was easy and straight-forward, I tried both optical and HDMI-ARC connections and settled with HDMI-ARC due to preferring the volume control integration with the original TV remote. The speakers are thin and blend in well with the television and stand.
