Installed this myself - one person; not two. While I wouldn't recommend doing it , it is possible. Not because of anything Broan did not do; it's just that holding the unit up while trying to get the ducting aligned is simply not for the faint of heart. For sure, a single person install without something like Broan's mounting system would just not be possible. Now that it's installed: looks great, works great. Dead quiet on the low setting: have to remind my wife to turn it off. Super (optionally) bright, attractive lighting. It has definitely dolled-up our kitchen. Now I need to get a new range because the range hood is too nice.

This unit was installed 30 december, 30 min job. First, it is slightly bent out of the box, installers found out... After install, i discovered that the L1 is quiet, L2 and 3 are 72-74 Deb or nearly 25-27 sones. The RPM blower speed regulator is not working. Nor is the Heat Detector. In addition, the unit on L1 cannot hold a Kleenex against the filter??? Steam goes around it on front elements as it lacks the ability, L2 or 3, to pull the steam. Now, 2008 still working Nutone Allure, 340CFM, quiet, one blower, pulled the steam on L2 from a pressure cooker on an island 6 feet away!!!!! Phones are calibrated for specific DB capture and processing (international technical standards), so when it says 73-74Db, 25 sones, or some 50-70x more than 9 sones (logarhitmic), it is bad. What went wrong? UNSURE. See the images. why does not L2 full blast evacuate steam? It does look good, but do not plan having a conversation around this unit...

Cheap Plastic parts for the Blower wheel assembly, both right and left are defective and have been replaced once before. Now they don't even service them. Would never buy a Broan Range Hood again.

I bought the Broan ERLE130ss as a more power replacement after we installed a new gas cooker. After more than one month, not happy! Here’s why: 1. There’s a constant hum coming from inside (allegedly, transformers). I was told by the technician who came to repair it that the parts (2 transformers) would arrive in 1-2 weeks. That was three weeks ago. Upon second call, the parts will take another 4-6 weeks to arrive. 2. The hood is rated at 600cfm, but only if installed with the 7” round duct plate. Which is not part of the package any more. So i had to buy it online and wait another 10 days for delivery. Disappointed!

I replaced an OTR Microwave Fan that was too loud and ineffective. This fan worlds better. I have been using it for 2 year and it's still running great. I installed it myself using using a 7" transition to a 6" duct. I normally use it on Speed 1 or 2 and it's quiet enough for day to day cooking. I can have a conversation or hear the TV in the living room without any issues. Speed 3 is loud. I only use this when I need to clear the smoke from searing a steak.

Seriously disappointed. Purchased and installed this Broan ERLE130SS in Feb. 2019. Loved it until I woke up this morning, June 26, 2019 to the sound of loud buzzing/humming. Turns out it's coming from the transformer(s) inside this range hood!! Will place a service call and see what comes of it. Best Buy/Broan I am counting on you to step up to the plate.

We bought this model four month ago and suddenly the touch controls start to malfunction. See https://youtu.be/8PSNV4aqnA8. I see that the same problem has been reported by another person. Knowing that you are not alone in this case actually worries me! One start is purely my ranking of the product quality and not the customer service. I will be calling Broan customer support shortly..

I bought this range hood in April 2019, after installing it we realized it didn't work. After making the claim, I received a new one but, it broke again in November 2020. It didn't even last 2 years!!! unbelievable!! and on top of this, the filters broke after few months of usage. Never getting anything from this company again.

Six years ago, we bought a similar 30 inch version of the Range Hood model ERLE130. It was called model VCQLA1. Is it the same model with a new name ? ... Is it possible to replace the rotor assembly which now makes a big noise (at high speed only). Are the current spare parts of model ERLE130 compatible with the older model ?
