This refrigerator is not very deep. There’s not a lot of storage so when we went from our old fridge to this one, it was crowded and sloppy looking. The bins are not deep enough for the vegetables either. We are used to a larger space. Otherwise, it looks nice and I will like the hot water dispenser.

This is a awesome fridge!!! I recommended for the all byers that. Very nice, great keep temperature in the cooler and freezer. Great ice cube and crushed plus have hot water!!!

Pretty good storage/organization inside, especially considering that it's a counterdepth fridge. It looks REALLY nice in our all-white kitchen, especially with the bronze handles. We love the ice and water dispenser, as we've never had either before, so it's great to be able to quickly dispense filtered water anytime we want it. I, for example, typically drink at least 1 or 2 32oz Nalgene bottles of water, and the bottle fills in less than 30 seconds. There's also an "ounce-counter" that displays how much water you've actually dispensed, which is kind of nice. I also like the "Open Door Alarm" that goes off if any of the doors accidentally get left open (it kind of makes putting groceries away like a little bit of a Mission:Impossible movie where you have to get the groceries in & the doors shut before the alarm goes off and the guards come running in the room...). We also like having a lock-controls button in case there are little kids running through the kitchen who might want to experiment with how fast the puddle of water can spread across the floor if they hold down the water dispenser button......... It also has WiFi, which means you can install the GE Cafe App, and then get alerts when your hot water is ready, or if the door is left open. Super cool! Regarding the ice maker, we've discovered that if you don't dispense ice for a couple of days, the ice cubes will freeze together & require the internal case to be removed & the ice cubes pushed by hand so that they will break apart & fall down into the dispenser. That's really more an "us" problem, in my opinion; if we used ice more often, then it would be readily dispensable. When we first got the fridge installed by the local company we purchased it through, our ice had little dark-gray specks of plastic??? I looked inside the ice dispenser and there was a pile of gray plastic sitting on top of the ice like it had fallen from somewhere inside the fridge. I dumped all the ice & plastic into the garbage, rinsed out the ice cube holder/dispenser equipment, dried everything off, re-installed everything, and have never had that happen again. Maybe it was just chips/FOD that were generated during the manufacturing. So far, we like this fridge. It's been in our newly-remodeled kitchen for less than a year. Quality-wise, the inside (walls, shelf holders, tubs/drawers) is all plastic. I think the shelf surfaces may be actual glass (they probably are) and maybe the shelf brackets are metal (???). We feel like the storage is really good, especially when we were originally looking for a bigger capacity fridge, but needed a counterdepth due to our kitchen size & layout. I'm glad that once I had the refrigerator, it worked when plugged in and connected. The Black Matte looks nice. Functions well, and cooled within 24 hours to temp. Some manufacturing oversights found include: Extra insulation protruding on right exterior door, grease smudge inside fridge, scratch on right exterior door, hair in freezer bin. For a high end product, it doesn't appear to have good control on aesthetic issues.

This refrigerator has tons of space and the internal LED lighting showcases everything so nicely! Overall we are very satisfied with this purchase!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We chose the Cafe' series in Matte White for the remodel which means our 15 y/o Kenmore Elite unit which was still kicking was sent to the garage. This one is counter depth which freed up some space in our kitchen but we don’t seem to notice the loss of space like others. No one has these in store to look at so it was like Christmas waiting for them to show up to match colors etc. There are several reviews that go into detail but let me focus on the few items that we have noticed in the last few months. Noise - I had hoped the reviews were wrong but this thing does make more noise than our old Kenmore. It seems to run about 80% of the time whereas the Kenmore was about 50%. Don’t really have other options so we deal with it but it does make noise and you just need to be aware. Protective Film – All I can say is it’s a royal pain to get the protective film off this thing. I know they want to protect it but the film was pitched with components. The water dispenser recess area was about an hour lot of fun to get the film pushed into the seam (Pic before clean up) Refrigerator Area Freeze Ups – Have had the top refrigerator area freeze liquid items twice. We used the recommended setting of 37 degrees but have since switched it to 40 degrees. I bought a NSF thermometer to put in the cooled area and it seems the refrigerator runs about 5 to 7 degrees lower than it says on the actual readout on the display. If it does it again I am calling GE for a repair. Even with those few issues we still are in love with our new refrigerator but I can say without question they really don’t make things like they used too (That’s all the manufactures)

This frig is the best, aesthetically and functionally! The counter fit is perfect and the black matte finish doesn't show fingerprints. Originally I got the model without the front water/ice dispenser but had to exchange it. This model is perfect, the room that is opened up when the ice and water are on the front! Never have to make ice and keep it in a bowl in the freezer (since I like alot of ice)!The water temp and amount is displayed on a moving picture which is very pleasing. It is perfect and matches the rest of my Cafe series set.

Counting today 9/16/23 we have owned this thing for 23 days. While it was noisy when they first turned it on it quieted down after it ran for awhile. We just returned from a 5 day trip and found the thing running and making a lot more noise than ever. There was water everywhere. Upon opening the freezer compartment we found a lot of liquid in the bottom of the drawer. Items like ground beef and chicken that had been frozen solid were completely thawed all the way through meaning that the unit had been off for some time. I might add that the unit was running and was starting to refreeze the liquid in the bottom of the freezer. How long it was off is anyone’s guess. When we opened the refrigerator we found the source of the water we found on the floor. The ice maker that was full when we left was completely empty which again means the unit was off for a long time as there was absolutely no ice in the hopper. Since it was now running had we been away for another day the thing may have refrozen all the spoiled food and the only way we would have known there was something wrong was by the refrozen gunk in the drawer bottom. Because we didn’t know how long it had been off and everything was defrosted we threw everything away at least $500 of food and condiments. There were no power outages in the area and it would not have any impact on us since we have a whole house backup generator and nothing else in the house was affected. For the amount of money this thing cost it should have been problem free for years not days. My recommendation is to buy something else and not waste your money on this thing. Called the selling dealer twice and am still waiting for some response. Will have to see what if any repair happens. Really disappointed in Cafe appliances, hopefully there will be a satisfactory resolution to this. If I can amend this review I will submit an update.

One week shy of a year from order to delivery but we were patient. It was well worth the wait. It looks fantastic and keeps everything well chilled and frozen. Love opening both doors and seeing everything easily. No digging around. Great crushed ice! It is slightly smaller storage-wise than our old side by side but I like the convenience of the French doors and bottom freezer. We also have the dishwasher, oven and stove top. Very happy with our choices. Thank you GE Cafe!
