What customers are saying

The lens provides a good zoom range and decent image quality in well-lit outdoor conditions, though it lacks image stabilization and can struggle in low light or at maximum zoom, producing soft or blurry images. It is a versatile and affordable option suitable for beginner and hobbyist photographers, but may not meet the needs of more advanced users or those requiring high-quality images in all situations.

    Great lens

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - September 9, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am using this for a T7i. Great intro lens for mid to mid/long range pictures. Autofocus can be a little hit and miss but not sure if that’s lens fault or the camera software. Manually focusing was great though (all pics uploaded were using manual focus with manual settings for each picture and also no editing done to them). Nonetheless it’s great.

Solid lense at a solid price

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - January 2, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this lense. Can take shots of the moon in the right Manual settings and action shots of the kids riding horses. Really great in natural light. You get a really nice range as well. Great bang for the buck.

    Good lens for freelance photography

    Reviewed by - April 7, 2012

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lens is great for when you need a nice zoom, but it definitely isn't the best deal out there if you're wanting to pursue a career in photography. As some other people have said, this lens makes very soft pictures, so they aren't meant to be printed in big sizes. A lot of the time (at least mine) it doesn't want to focus, so I end up manually focusing a lot, which makes the pictures look even softer. And with a low aperature, instead of having a blurring effect, it creates a more lined background (example in the picture of the girl sledding). I've dropped it a couple of times and it still works perfectly, so that's definitely a plus!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm just starting out in photography and this is my first lens purchase that I bought for my canon M50 and even though I had to buy a adapter to use this lens everything still works great

    Save Your Money

    Reviewed by - February 2, 2008

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you are looking for an upgrade from the kit lens that came with you rebel save your money for EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM. The 28-135mm auto focus is usually less than 1 second and the lens has a really nice Image Stabilizer. Also, the 28-135 has a macro mode that can fill a flower petal in the view finder and is very sharp. Most will find that for family photos 70mm is not short enough and 300mm is way too long so you will be changing the lens out quite often, not to mention if you use the 300mm you will probably out of range for your built in flash so you will need a lot of light on the subject. Your camera is only as good as the lens you put in front of it, save your money you will not regret it. Don't believe me try the two for yourself before you buy.
