The Clash of Steel: M26 Pershing Tank Platoon set enhances your tabletop battles with three highly detailed plastic models, each capable of being assembled as the M26 Pershing, T26E4 Super Pershing, or T26E5 Assault Pershing. This flexibility allows players to customize their forces to match specific scenarios or personal preferences. The M26 Pershing, America's first superheavy tank of World War II, was equipped with a 90mm gun. However, to effectively counter heavier German armor, an experimental long 90mm gun was developed and mounted on specially modified Pershings, resulting in the T26E4 Super Pershing. This set is designed for use with the Clash of Steel tabletop game and requires the Starter Set to play. Please note that the models are supplied unpainted and require assembly.

The Pershingâs 90mm gun was powerful, but lacked the ability to knock out the heavier German tanks, so an experimental long 90mm gun was designed. Two examples of these long guns were mounted in specially-modified Pershings. This was further modified in the field by adding additional armour plates cut from destroyed German Panthers. The result was Americaâs first superheavy tank of the war.

The Super Pershing engaged the enemy, easily destroying German tanks that it encountered. The war ended before more Super Pershings could be built, but the design was considered successful enough to further develop the M26 Pershing series into a main battle tank.
