UPS is working fine so far

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - December 18, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this to protect my computer setup from power surges. The last one I had before I got this had fried one of my SSDs. I have not had a power surge since I installed it, so I haven't been able to test how it holds up in a real event yet. The self-test says it is working so I assume it works. It all works great so far, but one thing I don't like is that the outlets are close together. I have a few cords with an AC power adapter which overlaps multiple outlets. I would have liked them to be spaced apart more, or maybe allow the outlets to be rotated to the side of the UPS. There is only 1 on each side that is spaced farther away for these, and the one on the power supply side is close to the ethernet surge protection. The product did arrive with the box damaged, attached photos, but the product itself did not appear damaged. I would have liked to been able to purchase it in store or pick up at the store, but I was only able to ship to my house. The product does have desktop software that logs events, shows the status, energy usage, etc. There is also an app, but I have not downloaded it because it is only a free trial.

    Works as Advertised

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - April 8, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using it for a month and it is stable. The power flickers here with storms and high wind sometimes which resets my router. I haven’t noticed it since using the UPC. The load is only 2 bars with my gaming pc, monitors, network, and NAS connected to it. I’m considering getting a higher wattage UPC now that I’ve added a NAS for longer uptime during power outages. I can use this one for my entertainment center and I’ll probably get a lower wattage one for my fan and CPAP in the bedroom. It give me peace of mind knowing that my pc and internet will stay on long enough to finish an online test or be able to safely shutdown.

    Best purchase I ever made.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - November 23, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best purchase I have made. I live in a apartment where once in a while the power would go off during the summer when there was construction near by. It ruined my old monitor for my pc so I had the protection plan on my old monitor. While I wait for a new one to be shipped, I purchased this battery backup to replace the old power strip. Glad I bought it. Protected my pc and my new monitor on another power failure a week after. It even has software to shut my pc off safely and to keep some power in the battery it carries. Even charged my phone while i waited for the power to come back on. It contains some cool features but I rather keep it simple.

Good for starting fires, bad for everything else

    Reviewed by - May 30, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My unit caught fire, and that is apparently not uncommon for this model (I don’t know which of those facts is more frightening). I owned it for roughy 3.5 years, and this morning it decided to set itself on fire. I happened to be a couple of feet away, and noticed that it switched to battery mode three or four times, despite no loss in power. A couple of seconds later there was a big pop, and acrid black smoke filled my room. I could see a fire on the inside of the unit, and quickly disconnected and removed it from the environment. Cannot say strongly enough that I really don’t recommended this product, or this brand.

    Known Issues with this model

    Reviewed by - April 16, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My unit bought In 2022 tripped an alarm. I reset and keep using it. Noticed my PC would say battery low and shutdown. It’s a desktop PC, Not a laptop. Called Cyberpower there is a known issue with this unit and the fix is to replace it. They are sending me a replacement. But I dont trust it now. I bought a APC UPS. On YouTube i found that they use an adhesive to keep larger capacitors from breaking off the boards in these units. These adhesive when gets old becomes brittle and becomes conductive. Which can cause shorts and even worse. I have loss confidence in Cyberpower. This is just my experience. Hopefully yours is better

    Very Nice UPS

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 27, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GX1500U hit the ground running in every way. Setting it up and using it has been nothing but smooth sailing. From a power perspective it is more than I need, but I wanted a true sine wave UPS and there aren't so many options. There are 12 outlets availble on the back of the unit, 6 are battery backed. The UPS maintains a consistent and clean 120 VAC output on all 12 outlets, filtering power fluctuations in the AC line input without resorting to battery power. With the batteries fully charged I removed power to the devices I wanted to back up, set the UPS in place and plugged it in, and finally plugged the devices into the UPS and turned it on. Everything came up without a hitch, off and running with battery backup. User documentation is clear enough, as are the LCD front panel indications. Checking status and setting options through the font panel buttons and LCD screen seems like a tedious process. Fortunately my situation is a normal one and the default settings were appropriate, so I didn't have to change anything. I highly recommend installing CyberPower's PowerPanel application on a computer near enough for a USB cable connection, or on a laptop that you can bring near the UPS. When running, PowerPanel finds the UPS when the USB cable is connected and displays very useful information that you don't see on the LCD panel, such as current power level in Watts and estimated battery run time in minutes at that power level. UPS configuration options can also be viewed and changed through the PowerPanel utility, which will be my preferred method vs. through the front panel. It is good to see that replacement batteries are available for purchase if/when needed and are easy to install. It's too early to say anything about reliability and battery life, but so far I am very happy and very impressed with the GX1500U and supporting software.

    Excellent UPS Office Solution

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - March 20, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent UPS Solution with easy instructions and intuitive in device monitoring and controls. Currently have two computers connected to this device and have weathered 3 power outages over the winter so far with excellent results. Alerts are clears and immediate. With current setup the in unit monitoring states my system will have over 35 minutes of uptime after power is cut which to this point I can absolutely vouch for multiple times so far. Absolutely recommend!

    Exploded...

    Reviewed by - February 11, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this for about 2 years, worked ok. Then started giving battery fail light. purchased new batteries to replace (exact same size, voltage, and amperage as original. Also verified all wired correctly connected.) When plugging it back in, the device exploded (loud popping noises, acrid smoke, flashes of light). Opened it up, and several of the transistors had blown. Looking online, this seems to be a common problem with this model. BEWARE!!!!

    Sea to do the job.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - April 28, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems good so far.Shows power draw some decent features. The warrenty of 500k protection seems fishy at best a lot of red tape per the instructions but I bought it for brown out situations. Don't want to risk my 3090 getting damaged in this gpu drought. Haven't had any outages yet but it feels quality and it replaced my old apc unit that wasn't cutting the mustard and battery died. Time will tell but I like the unit so far.
