Known to the locals as "Daktari" (Swahili for Doctor), Dr. Marsh Tracy (Marshall Thompson) runs the Wameru Study Center for Animal Behavior, a game preserve dedicated to the study and preservation of the African velt's abundant - and sometimes deadly! - life.
