GIFTED NYC BASED TRUMPET PLAYER DAVID SNEIDER RELEASES A DEBUT ALBUM THAT MARKS HIM OUT AS A RISING STAR IN CONTEMPORARY JAZZ.'Introducing' continues Cellar Music label owner Cory Weeds' mission to introduce exciting young jazz talent from Canada, the US and beyond to a wider audience.NYC based Trumpet player David Sneider is not only a technically gifted improviser whose playing displays a maturity beyond his years - he is also an exceptional composer and arranger. His five original pieces on 'Introducing' span a dynamic emotional range, showcasing a deep melodic sense, rhythmic intelligence and harmonic nuance. In his playing, composing and arranging David shows both a reverence for the rich traditions of jazz and a willingness to display his own more modern voice.David is supported on this album by a stellar band of young, rising star musicians based in NY and active on the city's club scene, each of whom brings their own distinct voice to the recording. He is joined on the 'international' horn frontline by Canadian Jacob Chung and Japan's Erena Terakubo. Jacob is an up-and-coming tenor saxophonist with a 'big, low' tenor tone who swings with hard‑bop energy. Alto saxophonist Erena is a powerful female voice in contemporary jazz whose sound blends bebop influences with modern expression and strong melodic phrasing. The rhythm section is led by Tyler Henderson, a Bill Evans influenced pianist and composer with a beautifully lyrical touch and deep roots in swing and modern jazz. All three have released albums on the Cellar label. Chicago native Joey Ranieri is already one of NY's most in‑demand bass players and brings a tasteful, blues‑infused approach with a strong sense of swing and harmonic depth. The rhythm section is rounded out by straight‑ahead drummer Wille Bowman whose light yet propulsive style underpins the group sound and empathetically supports the soloists throughout. David's confident solo debut marks him out as a rising star in contemporary jazz.
