Cannot grind coffee fine enough for good espresso
- August 5, 2024This device is an embarrassment to the DeLonghi brand. I bought this device yesterday to use with my DeLonghi espresso machine, we grind our own coffee and the grinding is terrible, it is not possible to adjust the fineness to the point of making a decent espresso, the coffee is simply too coarse regardless of the fineness knob being at maximum. I am really disappointed and will probably never buy anything from DeLonghi again.

Messy
- January 8, 2023I got this grinder about 2 years ago and I have been using it almost everyday since. The grind is consistent and the grinder has never had any mechanical problems. The only problem is the mess. The design for this grinder’s basket allows for quite a lot of grinds to fall out of the machine while grinding the beans. When you take the basket out more grinds fall out of the shoot that lands to the basket onto the counter. Then when you open the basket more grinds fall off of the sides and the lid. Because of this, I can only give it 3 stars. Consistent grinds but also a consistent mess with every use.

Fine product
- March 9, 2019I bought it to replace a poor quality KRUPS product three months ago. So far, it works very well. The cover and lower containers fit snuggly and don't come lose. The grind is fine and regular. It's relatively small so don't eat all the limited space I have. I started by the finest grind and discovered it was way too small for my needs. I gradually ajusted it until I had what I wanted. If you like coarse grind, it may not be the model you want. All the controls have a "solid" feeling. I don't fear it will break anytime soon. Not too noisy. In the manual, there's a section about how to get the best taste by varying the grind and amount of coffee used. Great product.

I wish it came with two baskets
- April 23, 2025I’ve had one of these for five years now and I’ve never had a problem with it. The only thing I wish I can get was an extra plastic receptacle as mine has become chipped over years of use.

Good grinder.
- February 28, 2022It’s a great grinder for me, even it’s a little bit hard to clean but I still like it!

Good grinder, limited settings
- January 28, 2020This is a good grinder at a good price when on sale. The main issue we had with it is the "fine" grind is more like a regular grind so it ended up not being useful for espresso which was our primary reason for purchasing the grinder in the first place.

Works Very for Espresso
- October 2, 2020I have been using this grinder everyday for a few weeks now and it works very well for making espresso. I have not been using it long enough to comment on the durability but it is well built. I found the grind size is more than fine enough for making espresso. In fact, with Costco (Starbucks) Espresso Dark Roast beans, the finest setting on the grinder gives the consistency of something very close to all purpose flour and that is too fine for espresso. I end up dialing the grind size back a bit to get it just right for 20s pulling a double espresso.

The finest setting is too coarse
- January 17, 2022Great budget grinder however even the finest setting is too coarse for espresso. When I called the customer service to see if this can be fixed, they looked at the ground coffee over one way video and confirmed that the finest setting is fine enough and if I didn’t like it than it’s down to customer preference. I guess they have a very high resolution video to be this certain…

Too messy
- November 2, 2022The first one only worked a week then had to be replaced. If the lid is not on right the sensor or whatever it is will not allow power. No matter how often I clean it, at least 3 times a week the power won’t work until I jiggle the lid, remove the burr, totally dump everything out, and then some how it eventually works. Soooo ANNOYING. It is also extremely MESSY. Grounds get everywhere when I remove the lid to access the grounds. Hate this machine, if I hadn’t spent 90 bucks I’d throw it in the trash or against the wall or onto the driveway and smash it with a sledgehammer.

This grinder has auto shutoff!
- September 12, 2020I don't know why other reviews say this grinder has no auto shutoff. I have owned this for a year and it has always performed well. There is a timer at the front and grind set on the side. I had to play with the grind setting but once done that's it!!. A great great burr grinder that out performs a blade grinder every time.
