    Just one year later....,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A few buttons turned white after just 1 year. I’m not sure if this is a defect or if the lifespan of the Stream Deck XL is only about a year.

All the power, a fraction of the desk space

    Reviewed by - September 17, 2020

I love the robust and compact design of the Stream Deck mini. Although it has a fixed base and is always at the same angle, I think it works well in this form factor because of its size. I actually have mine mounted to the front edge of my desk with double sided tape to free up more desk space. It's small and light enough that it's a really strong bond with the double sided tape, plus the angle of the back face of the base makes the front face of the Stream Deck Mini angled just enough to not accidentally have the buttons pressed when mounted to the edge of the desk. Note: I am an Elgato Partner and received my Stream Deck Mini at no cost. My opinion and review of this product is honest and my own. I only endorse products that I would (or have) spent my own money on

Grear productivity tool for non streamers

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - February 16, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to use in my music studio for use with Logic Pro and it works well. However I also this on my work PC now and it provides even more value. I am not a streamer. I mostly do operations and analytics and this lets me manipulate Excel quickly and run multiple commands with ease.

If You’re Wondering What You Can’t Do With This...

    Reviewed by - March 11, 2020

The only thing it can’t do is wash your dishes. In all honesty, the Stream Deck XL was built for the creatives who need all the shortcuts to keep the stream going without a hitch. I’m actively using mine on and offline for a myriad of reasons. Be it scene switching, muting my mic and promoting my social network profiles on stream, or during my editing for Photoshop, After Effects and more. There’s so much to do with the Stream Deck and it’s pretty much nothing this device can’t handle. Except your dishes. You’re on your own. Get one and level up your battle station.

    Professional Switchboard for a Teacher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do a lot of work in programming and video editing. This is my 2nd Stream Deck, but with this, I decided to go with the XL. It allows me to be prepared and confident when presenting and delivering lessons to students online.

Probably the best Macro pad out there.

    Reviewed by - June 26, 2020

Working as a marketing designer the Stream Deck XL became a tool that I wouldn't want to miss anymore. Whether I'm currently video editing or adjusting assets in my design software, the deck covers it all with all my custom macros I need. Especially became useful in applications where I can't make custom key binds with Autohotkey macros ready to go with a button. Another amazing use case I came to appreciate is using the "text" function to type out text in forms where copy paste doesn't work (for example certain games or websites) Makes my day-to-day work easier, especially after upgrading from my non-XL deck and importing my old profiles.

Extremely useful for ANYTHING (Not just streaming)

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - April 10, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Stream Deck XL has been incredibly useful, not just for streaming, but for general computer use as well! I have it set up so that the default screen has buttons to open my most commonly used websites and programs, as well as folder categories for any other programs/websites I use. For example, on my default screen, I have buttons for Spotify, Zoom, Youtube, email, etc, and as well as a folder labelled "creation", which when I press it, gives access to Photoshop, Lightroom, FreeCad, etc. I have buttons to lock, restart, sleep, or power off the computer, as well as buttons that do multiple things using the "Multi Action" function, like a "work" button I can press to open slack, zoom, work email, etc. There are a bunch of really useful plugins for extra functionality, like muting certain applications, etc. Even if there isn't a plugin for the action you want, you can set up a button to type out a series of keys. Command line is also incredibly useful in creating custom actions. For example, I created a Multi Action button to shutdown the computer composed of the following sub actions: 1. Hotkey: "[windows key] + R" 2. Hotkey: "cmd.exe", with "press Enter after message" checked 3. Delay: 1000ms 4. Hotkey: "shutdown /s /t 0" You can absolutely use the Stream Deck without knowing command line, but learning even just a little will let you program the Stream Deck to do basically anything you want. Oh and I also use it for streaming, to change scenes in OBS or post announcements to twitter. Overall highly recommend, I was considering between this and the regular Stream Deck, and am really glad I got the XL, I easily use all the additional keys. I do also have the Stream Deck+ (with the dials), but as of right now, there aren't many available actions for the dials (even changing app volume isn't straight forward), so if you're choosing between the XL and the +, I would suggest the XL, at least until more dial actions are published.

A lot more than 32 keys

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - February 22, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the Stream Deck just to simplify things like opening apps, turning on lights, hiding windows, closing apps, and typing. I say it's lot more than 32 keys because you can create a folder which opens up another 32 keys to program. So for typing I created a folder of buttons. One button types in my name and address, another types in my phone number, others to type in my email addresses. This makes it easier to type in things that you type often. If you run out of keys, you can create a subfolder with more keys. You can create keys to open frequently visited web sites. This allows you to go to those sites without having to use the keyboard, mouse or trackpad. Pay bills online? Create a folder of keys to go to the sites you go to to pay your bills.
