- Smart lock you'll want for a family- March 14, 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Smart door lock that I have owned. This one has so many options, and a fingerprint scanner, so my daughter can easily open it up without remembering a passcode. Often times people have numbers wear off of the numbers in their passcode for garages, so it's easy to crack the codes. This one is never gonna be cracked. Install was pretty simple. I'm handy, but that skill was not needed with this install. There are videos in the app that show you exactly what to do. Overall, it's just unscrewing the old locks, pulling it out, connecting the cord, inserting it into the door, and screwing in the lock. The app syncs easily and has a battery within the door lock. It connected to bluetooth and wifi, for connecting to the internet. That way I can be off site and open/lock the door. The one feature I like better in this one is that it detects when the door is closed then locks behind me. My other brand would lock at specific times after it detected it was unlocked and sometimes it ended up locking as I was closing the door, so it banged the wood trim....not cool. This one, however does not do that, and is better with a sensor. Install took me about 10 minutes because I knew what I was doing, but an average person would only take about 15. I lock the door with Google as part of my night time "Google Routine", when I say, "Hey Google, Goodnight." And it shuts off the lights and locks the door. The battery is rechargeable (10,000 mAh) so when it does die, I can usb connect it and charge it. Saves on buying batteries. I doubt it would be often to charge it, because of such little use it gets. I'm quite happy with this smart door lock!!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Everything A Smart Lock Should Have- March 2, 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] --- SETUP --- The setup for the Eufy smart lock requires some knowledge of door knob installation. Downloading the app first gives you access to a short, easy to rewatch and follow video with step by step instructions. All screws are included and I just used a screwdriver to get the installation done. --- FEATURES --- The key features include multiple ways to unlock your door (fingerprint, via app, keypad, key), WiFi to control from anywhere, autolock, all weather protection, voice-assistant compatible, and an emergency unlocking feature if it runs out of battery while you’re out. --- PERFORMANCE --- The performance of this lock is hands down the best I’ve experienced. This is my third smart lock. The previous ones, though they served their purpose well, always left me wanting a feature or two that I think would improve the experience. Eufy seems to have taken notes and created a one-solution for all your smart lock needs. First of all, I don’t need to pull out my phone to unlock my door. My finger is my key, and I always have my fingers. The fingerprint is recognized rather quickly and I can use it to both, lock and unlock my door as I leave or arrive. You can also have multiple fingerprints saved on various profiles. I programmed 3 fingers, 2 from one hand and 1 from the other, and I set up my wife with her own fingerprints. I tested the keypad just to see how quickly it recognized the # and it works immediately as well. I was able to set up 3 different 8 digit numeric codes, one for me, one for my wife, and one for a person who will take care of my cats while on vacation. Because of this, it keeps a nice detailed account of who is entering the house using what code as well as failed attempts and the time stamps the attempt was failed. --- EXPECTATIONS --- The product exceeded my expectations. The lock looks hightech without being an eyesore on the door. One of my grievances for smart locks is that I need to keep buying batteries as they eventually run out. This lock has a rechargeable battery that takes 6 hours to charge. If you get a notification that the battery is low, all you have to do is recharge it overnight and not deal with the hassle of forgetting that you need batteries for your lock. With voice-commands, I had no issues telling my phone assistant to open my door, though I use my fingerprint more often because it makes me feel like a secret agent. --- VALUE --- The price for the smart lock in terms of value is great, considering that it received a BHMA Grade 2 Security Certification, meaning it has been tested to lock and unlock 250,000 times, or an equivalent of 67 years if you lock and unlock it 10 times a day. --- APPROVAL --- I highly recommend this product for people who want the convenience of a smart lock without the hassle of dealing with apps on a regular basis.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Solid Build Quality and Quick Operation- March 1, 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid Build Quality and Quick Operation The latest model of the Eufy - Smart Lock Touch and Wi-Fi is as complete as they come. From the moment you open the box, you can tell how much attention to detail and quality Eufy put in designing and refining earlier versions of this smart lock. Everything is intuitively labeled in the order of the installation steps to guarantee a successful installation by customers of any skill level, using only a Phillips screwdriver. The Eufy is different from other brands in that it actually replaces the whole dead-bolt assembly, so if you still want to use a key, you’ll have to use the unique ones that come with it. Not that big a problem since it comes with 5 keys that are probably nearly impossible to duplicate, so more secure. Again installation was very straight forward, you can even watch videos on-line or just follow the easy step by step instructions - it only took me about 20min, but I did not get to enjoy it right away cause I was still charging the 10,000 mAh Lithium battery that comes pre-charged to only about 30%. It is supposed to last up to a year on a full charge under normal operating conditions - impressive - though time will tell. Now for a quick list of Pros and minor Cons: PROs: * Multiple ways to lock/unlock: Fingerprint, PIN, iPhone or Android phone App that works via both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, physical key, Alexa or Google Assistant * I would like to emphasize the fingerprint functionality as it impressed me the most - it is super-responsive, I’d say under one second, I wish my smartphone unlocked as quickly. Once you register your fingerprint 8 regions, it works like a charm. You can register multiple fingerprints for you and your whole family. * You can register multiple 4-8 PINs for you and other people you want to allow access, and the various PINs can be activated/deactivated on a schedule. * Huge capacity 10,000 mAh lithium battery that should last up to a year before the next charge. The App should warn you when it’s time to recharge it. Another cool feature, there is a hidden micro-USB power port accessible from outside that you can use to power the lock if need be. * Automatic door-locking option thru the App once you closed the door behind you Notifications and audit logs in the App when the door is locked/unlocked and by whom * Solid drill-proof metal casing * Waterproof IP65 rating that will withstand the elements * Lighted touchpad that wakes-up at the touch so you can enter the PIN * Built-in Wi-Fi, so you don’t need any additional “bridge” hardware * Audible chimes and clear voice messages informing you of the status of the lock or issues trying to lock when there is an obstruction to the bolt, such as then the door is not closed all the way * Firmware update for bug fixes was easy to do right from the App and only took a couple of minutes Minor Cons: * Replaces your dead-bolt and keys, so you must use their proprietary key; in my case, that will be an extra key on the key-chain, as I had matching keys for front door, back door and garage/basement door. * The PIN lock/unlock is not the most intuitive, I actually had to read the manual. It would be nice if it would just automatically unlock once you’re done entering the PIN, instead of requiring an extra key pressing and holding for a couple of seconds. * Only one color available All in all, I am very impressed with this lock and would recommend it to friends if they don’t mind replacing their existing deadbolt and key.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- This Is More Than A Door Lock!!- February 20, 2022
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Eufy Smart Lock Touch & Wi-Fi is is what we have been missing! Out of the box-it took my husband about 15 minutes to install. Setup was a breeze. We set up a passcode to lock/unlock the door. It also has my families fingerprints stored for really easy access. The lock also came with keys (just in case!) The lock looks very stylish as well!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Great lock - Pros and suggestions- April 18, 2021
4 reasons I love this lock: 1 - Easy install - it took less than 10 minutes to install. 2 - Multiple options to unlock the door. 3 - Weather resistant - Works flawlessly even through Buffalo NY snow storms. 4 - Responsive key pad Cons 1 - The auto locks when the door is open. For a lock this expensive you would expect it would have a sensor that detects the door is open and notify a you once it is open. 2 - It comes with a rechargeable battery but I cannot find a way to purchase a replacement battery. I like having extra battery’s on hand for emergency’s.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
