[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros 1. It is extremely easy to set up. 2. It merges with an existing google account which most people have these days. 3. The magnetic mount is handy and avoids complex installation. 4. The app is very intuitive and easy to connect with the camera. The clarity of the picture is very good. 5. It is weather sealed, so it should take the abuse of outdoor installation. 6. The camera itself is small and doesn’t grab attention. 7. The wifi reception is very good for a long range. The only con I can think of is a lack of removable battery, which means that once the camera runs out of battery, you need to physically take the camera and charge it.

I have yet to decide where I would actually like to place this Google Nest Cam, which means I need to buy more. Currently I am only using the magnetic mount and moving it to multiple places and I honestly need more of them in my life! Just download app, go though install steps and bam you have a camera with live viewing, two way microphone and video recording. The magnet is super strong and keep in mind all exterior doors have metal so it's a breeze to snap on a door. I promise you will end up like me and want 10 more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Set up is So easy! Download Google Home App and add camera. The best part is not having to deal with wires, so just mount and go. I suggest you do face recognition before mounting. The magnetic mount is very strong and the battery life still almost full after 2 tweeks. Video and two way sound I found to be very clear. Features animal detection, vehicle detection and familiar face is awesome. Like competitors subscription required for 24H /7 or 3 hours worth of events free. Google Nest Cam does not work with Amazon,Alexa or integrate with other security systems, but you should know that before you buy. The bottom line is if you like easy and quick install this camera is for you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nest camera is the perfect wireless camera for indoor or outdoor use for security purposes. I placed ours on our patio in the back of the house. I love that I simply charge it and place it back on the magnet. Very good quality and easy to use. The white camera blends in well in the background. Gives me immediate alerts if someone is in the backyard whether it's a human or an animal. If I place it in the front door it alerts me about vehicles, humans, or animals. It is easy to adjust on the outside and gives me a good viewing angle. I do wish it was automatic tracking whoever was passing by and moving 360 but this isn't a ptz cam. With the unpredictable weather out here in Austin, I do like that it's weather resistant. Not to mention it survived high heat outdoors and very high humidity! But I do wish it had a case for weather proof to protect the camera in this package. It's very easy to manage on Google home app. The base comes with a magnetic part, if you have any magnetic item outside it will automatically attach, otherwise it comes with a drilling portion to install like we did. In the Google home app you can add your family or friends faces to identify families faces for facial recognition and avoidance of false alarms. So far it's been few weeks and the camera is still working and I haven't had to charge it. Quite impressive! I love the 1080p hd quality and the night mode. Pretty crisp image day or night.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm loving there simplicity of this camera. It can go anywhere you need it to go. It connects to your home and nest network with shear ease. The picture and sound quality is great and it simply looks great. Now, I want to say, the color choice isn't my cup of tea, considering the fact that's it's designed for indoor and outdoor use. I bring that up because that was one of the goals for the camera. They wanted it to look good. Snow isn't the hue you want when placing this camera outside. I use this camera inside my home, which makes it easier to keep clean. But beyond that, it's absolutely great. It's connection to my other cameras is seamless. And the battery life, considering the short time I've had it, doesn't seem to be an issue. It can be plugged in which will give you a continuous live feed and one of my favorite features is the ability to to keep recording even during a power outage (for at least 3 hours) and then upload that footage after you regain power. Charging takes about 5 hours and with that, your up and rolling. The speaker is great to communicate with couriers or random passers-by and from what I see, the latency is really good. It's a relatively affordable camera that has some cool accessories ( like the wall mount seen in the photos, sold separately but useful but not necessary). I want to also mention the powerful magnet base on the camera itself. It adheres tightly to almost any metal you place it on. In the end, I would definitely recommend this camera to a friend and associate.

I was skeptical with this product at first. But now I am a fan. Set up was a snap. Charged Followed App Connected to Wifi Signed up for Nestware (required for video history if you don't sign up you can't get history I tried first to not sign up that's how I know) Installed Used Nicely done Google. Your nest engineers thought this product through well. Build Solid metal body Nice color Battery lasts pretty long. I am on day 3 and still has 90% left Magnetic adjustable (see con at end of review) Requires special plug to charge (see con at end of review) Indoor table or counter or shelf mount is nice Good night vision has 6 IR to get good night vision Good 1080 Good daytime video. Clear. Good motion and animal detection. Picked up my dog or me. Software Easy to use Easy to scroll through and view history Easy to adjust notifications Overall great quality. Pleasantly surprised. So here is the only 2 cons that I could ding Google on. 1 is the magnetic attachment to the base. Although it gives maximum flexibility with adjustment and ease of install. This create a dilemma. Theft. It can be snatched up and taken away or vandalized easily. 2nd is the specialty plug to charge. I wished it would take a standard USB c type plug so I did not have to find this cable and charge it later when I needed to. Other than that well done Google. I would recommend this product for others knowing the above cons are ok with the buyer. Looking forward the Pixel 6 Pro.

This camera is best suited for outdoor use and holds up well to the weather, but its motion detection can be inconsistent, occasionally failing to record activity that is clearly visible. Battery life is a major drawback, especially in high-traffic areas, and recharging is inconvenient if the camera is mounted in a hard-to-reach spot. Charging also takes a while, and the use of a proprietary charging cable instead of USB‑C is frustrating, since those cables are easier to lose and more expensive to replace. On the positive side, it excels as a portable, battery-powered Wi‑Fi camera that can be mounted almost anywhere, but given its limitations, it is worth considering alternative options from other brands or product lines.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Nest Cam to monitor activity on the side of our home that leads into our yard. This area is a blind spot for us and faces the entrance to our cul-de-sac. We own a couple of other Nest products and it is a reputable brand that I trust with performance and longevity. This camera also has several features which helped in making our decision to get this camera. It can be used indoors or outdoors, it is powered by the built-in rechargeable battery, and it can provide intelligent notifications (motion is caused by people, animals, or vehicles). This product was very easy to set up and install. You will first need to plug the Nest Cam into an outlet, download the Google Home app, create an account and follow the steps to set up the camera by selecting Nest Cam(battery). There is a sticker on the camera lens which has a QR code that you will need to scan to connect the camera to your home’s Wi-Fi network. After connecting, you will be given the opportunity to enroll in a 15-day Nest Aware trial period which one needs to view recordings longer than the most recent 3 hours and also the face recognition feature. This is a con to me when subscriptions are required to reap further benefits. Installing the Nest Cam was quite simple as all you need to do is attach the mounting plate, with the enclosed screws and anchors, to the area you want to place the camera then lock the magnetic plate onto the mounting plate and secure the camera to the magnetic plate. The camera holds steadily once installed. The beauty of it being battery powered is that you can place it anywhere! The video quality is superb for both day and night and the motion detection and intelligent notifications were precise. I liked that these alerts can be tailored such as you may only want to be notified when a person causes the motion and not a car or animal. The app is easy to use and we are reassured that we can readily monitor our house while we are home or away.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the convenience of the Nest Outdoor/Indoor Battery Cam, and it functions well and looks pretty cool too. Because I have other Nest products, and use the Google Home app, install was an absolute breeze. I plugged the camera into a wall socket, scanned the bar code with my phone, and followed the very simple guided instructions through the app. There really is nothing to it, and once you’ve charged it up fully, it’s ready to go…for months even. The base is installed with included screws wherever you want it to be, and the camera itself is attached with very secure, surprisingly powerful magnet. Seriously, it snaps together with reassuring force. Then you can twist it to your preferred viewing angle. You can keep it wired, though it doesn’t come with an all weather cord. I plan on using the battery so I have everything I need. I will say that the power cord comes out forward, toward the lens, which seems strange, but it doesn’t affect the use…just a little quirky I guess. The picture quality is quite good, both day and night, and you can set up face recognition if you wish to use that option. It suggests that hanging it at around 6.5 feet up for optimal use of the feature, though that seems to be at a height that would make it easy to steal (since it is only attached by the magnet.) There is an anti theft add-on that can be purchased separately. I instead just mounted mine up around 10 feet high as it gives me a great view and better piece of mind. The audio too is very good, and it’s easy to communicate through it. I am alerted on my phone when the camera sees someone, and I like to talk to my children through the camera when I’m away. The app keeps you updated on the current battery level, so you’ll know when to pull is off and bring it inside for a charge up. The app is simple and intuitive to use, and you get 3 hours of storage space for free. Obviously this isn’t enough if something happens overnight and you want to check it in the morning, but the paid plans are very affordable and ample even at the lowest, cheapest level. I am very happy with this Nest Cam…it is heavy and well made, and I expect it will last for a very long time. And because it’s battery powered and weather resistant, I can put it anywhere. That convenience makes this camera invaluable, and makes me a very happy customer…definitely recommend!

I was used to Apple products and am working now on a Samsung tablet - so probably operator error. I only have one Google nest cam and didn't have any other devices in Google Home. When you view the camera, it shows battery life- right now mine is on 76% or 3 weeks. It estimates it on usage, weather and camera activity. (got the indoor/outdoor) Currently use indoor. Video can sense motion and record it. Can view histroy and send notification if it senses a person. The microphone will pick up voices and noises and you can speak through the nest camera. I have been playing with the magnetic part of it. I stuck to my refrigerator, a 3 hole punch, and a metal wall art.
