Toner spills everywhere
- October 29, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this after running out of the cartridge that came with the printer. After a few prints, this started printing black smudge all over and leak the toners seriously. I called Brother and they sent a replacement. Now after 5 days, the new cartridge started doing the same thing. It's really frustrating and at this moment I don't know whether the issue is with the printer or the cartridge.

GREAT product!
- November 30, 2022[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] GREAT PRODUCT! I have yet to have an issue with this lazer printer or the ink. I do wish that these cartridges were refillable like a competitor's printer & ink system. I also wish that i could still print with 1 of the ink colors being empty. I do get black in high-yield, since i use that tye most. I'm a busy college student that prints out LOTS of things. These usually last me 3-4 months. Otherwise, great product, no ink blobs or lightening of the colors when ink is low. I do wish it was a bit more cost effective.

First one I’ve ever changed. Piece of cake!
- October 30, 2019[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I saw the instructions but started to change it out thinking I’ll read instructions when I get to a point that I need them. Well I finished the installation no problem. Yes I should have read them to learn about putting the old one in the bag provided to recycle without it leaking. Thank you so much !!! I’m a Brother fan for life! Getting my Son one next.

Terrible Smudging right out of the case.
- September 17, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Horrible purchase. DO NOT PURCHASE this two pack from Brother. If you go to the Brother site it gets terrible reviews from smudging, lines and in my case, actually damaging the printer drum. Brother does not accept any responsibility despite scores of bad reviews for the cartridge. The want to make sure its genuine brother, and it is. Otherwise they just say if the two pack is opened past 90 days, even if it wasn't used until it was opened, its out of warranty. You'll spend days trying to make Brother pony up for this one. Do not purchase until needed and if it smudges, you've been warned by many many users.

Leaves Black streaks on pages
- November 21, 2020Replaced the black toner cartridge for the first time since buying my brother printer brand new. About 3 months into ownership it was time to replace the black toner so I bought this high yield one (genuine Brother brand). Not only was I not emailed an invoice for business write off purposes, this unit leaves black smudges on every single paper and I have already tried cleaning out the drum/roller unit. It looks like it's a common thing. Try to find a better alternative. There's no reason why anyone should be experiencing this with a brand new printer and brand new toner cartridge that is the same brand as the printer.

This ink goes the distance!
- July 3, 2023[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a creative director and do a LOT of printing, often in large batches. I’ve had the Brother HL-L3270CDW printer nearly 4+ years and I tend to use 223 ink for Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. I use this high yield 227BK because black toner tends to go first. This bad boy can go the distance. I print full color designs and photographs on various paper qualities and am always impressed by how many prints I can run before needing to change a cartridge. They’re certainly not cheap, but a business expense that is well worth it for me. I also have had great results with the high yield 227BK. I haven’t tried the high yield colors yet (mostly because they’re rarely in stock in store and I always wait til the 11th hour). The new cartridges come with instructions for recycling the old cartridges. Highly recommend!!

Banding and smudging with 90% of toner left
- January 21, 2024I finally replaced a 15+ year old Brother B&W laser printer with a scanner/color laser unit. After I used up the black toner cartridge shipped with the printer, I replaced it with this high yield cartridge. With a 3000-page rating, I assumed it would last me for years, but after 8 months (with 90+% of its capacity remaining) it began printing with smudging and vertical bands. After doing all the cleaning and troubleshooting, the problem persisted. Replacing the cartridge fixed the problem immediately. The 90-day warranty Brother offers is a joke. I'm left with a nearly full but useless cartridge.

Print density is an issue
- May 15, 2023I was taken aback by the life of the original cartridges, and am hoping the new extended capacity cartridges will be better. I reduced the image density (from the control panel) in the hopes of extending the life of all the cartridges. What I was surprised to find was that once the black cartridge signaled to be replaced, the other colors soon followed suit. I have never had a color printer do this. We specifically went mostly B&W, reserving color only when needed. Now, I am 300 pages in to the cartridge, and the black is showing 90%. Even with density turn back down? Is it real? Time will tell.

It is a sad Brother printer without its toner!
- August 2, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brother's MFC-L3770CDW series printers require some rather sophisticated (and expensive!) toner cartridges in three colors and one black High Yield to produce excellent text and photos. When replacing an empty cartridge with a full one, it must be handled carefully to avoid spilling the toner. I can attest to the undesirable effect of a spill! Otherwise, the only problem with the toner cartridges is that my local Best Buy sells the excellent Brother printers as indicated above, but does not keep the toner cartridges in stock, nor does it offer an individual order process .
