    Exceptional

    Reviewed by - November 7, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used KitchenAid blenders for many years, they continue to improve and remain one of the best. The 16oz personal containers are a neat innovation in how they work. My previous blender had a few personal containers that attached to the blenders primary, removable blades, which made sealing them a challenge. The new system has blades built into the primary 48oz container, which greatly reduces any chance of spillage, with the solid polycarbonate container, is much lighter than glass and nearly unbreakable. The personal containers each have a screw-on lid and a single blade mechanism that attaches firmly to the personal container. They are also made from a strong clear polycarbonate. The images below show all the container parts and how the personal container is assembled. The blade assembly for the personal container has a single notch on the front so it can only be placed in the blender base one way, the larger container has 2 notches (probably for better right handed/left handed use). But the notches serve the same purpose, a tight straight fit to the blender base (which has a rubberized base, so it does not wander during use). The interior of the motor base is also rubberized so the parts fit tightly, and minimize noise. Speaking of noise, when blending liquids the blender is quite quiet. When crushing ice it's noticeably louder, the blades, and strong motor make quick work of ice, making great milkshakes and smoothies. The blender really can't be used to just crush ice, there must be some liquid in the containers to move the ice around. The blender has two modes and 3 speeds, A smooth movement and a pulsed movement, the pulsing helps move the mixture you blending up and down the container. It does this very effectively, creating a strong "tornado" inside the mix. When using the personal containers, do not over fill, they say don't fill over 16oz, which is about 1/2 full. When blending the mixing process easily fills the entire container, so there is a lot of pressure inside when blending. Nothing can be added to the personal containers when blending, but the 48oz container has a drop in lid, allowing you to add additional product. I attempted to add ice when making a margarita, it worked well, but add slowly, if you attempt to put to many in at once, you can cause some splashing. The polycarbonate containers are strong and light. These combinations make this an exceptional blender. I'm very impressed with the blenders power, quietness and spill proofness. P.S. From looking at the instructions, you can purchase some additional accessories based on your needs [small batch jar/lid, and a juicing kit (reamer, strainer, bowl and gear assembly)].

    Simple, but powerful

    Reviewed by - October 25, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Last summer, I went to a local fair with my family and experienced a sweet tea slushy. It was essentially just sweet tea blended with finely crushed ice, but it was an incredibly refreshing treat on a hot summer day. Ever since then, I’ve attempted to recreate the concoction with my blenders at home, but they just haven’t been able to cut it. While most blenders can make smoothies and crush ice, they can’t shave the ice like what you would find with a snow cone vendor or a slushy. The Kitchen Aid 3-speed Ice Crushing Blender is the answer to this query. The blender looks like it is a standard blender, but the asymmetric blade ensures that ice is crushed in a way to achieve that snowy texture. The blade design cuts the ice in four distinct angles so that it pulls the ice into the center as it blends. There are three-speed options as well as the Ice-Crush setting. This makes it possible for you to not only crush up ice for your perfect frozen drink treat but also be able to crush up certain foods. My grandmother lives with me and she has trouble eating solid foods sometimes. So, we end up pulling out a huge blender that is designed to chop up different foods for that purpose. This Kitchen Aid blender gets that same job done, but isn’t quite as large as the other one we’ve been using so it’s much easier to work with. One of the other things I like about this blender is its simplicity. It has three speeds and an ice setting. That’s it. Again, this is something that is easy enough for my grandmother to work with. Some of the other blenders we have employed a digital display and they have multiple settings that she frankly doesn’t need and those settings just confuse her. The knob control on this blender is easy to turn and you can feel a stopping point when you reach each setting. This is very helpful for people who just need a simple blender. It’s powerful, but not complicated. The only real issue I had with the blender was that it didn’t cut up all the ice I placed in the blender. For the first test I ran, I put two scoops of ice from our ice maker into one of the personal blender jars. Then, I used both speed setting 2 and the ice-crush setting to chop up the ice. When you just put ice in the blender jar, it gets stuck to the inside of the blade element and on the sides of the jar as it is processed. I had to tap on the sides of the jar and bottom of the cup in order to loosen it up and get the remaining ice cubes blended. As it turned out, I still had 3 almost whole ice cubes in the jar after blending the ice off and on for about 30 seconds. Now, after this initial test, I placed the same amount of ice in the personal blending jar and added some fruit-flavored drink. By adding the liquid, it kept the ice from sticking and I got a much better blend. This blender could potentially serve as a snow cone maker, but given the fact that ice sticks pretty badly when there is no other liquid in the blender with it, I would recommend this for smoothie mixes over snow cones. The Kitchen Aid blender works really well and for its price, I would recommend it to others looking for a simple, but powerful blender.

The “JAWS” Of ICE Crushing – Multi Functional

    Reviewed by - December 9, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was pleasantly surprised using this blender at how efficient and uncomplicated it was. It is an impressive three speed, analog-controlled blender with ample power to crush ice as 'shaved' for snow cones, and other icy treats. It makes delightful Smoothies from frozen fruit, and if preferred, added heavy cream or half and half for more gastronomical richness. YUMMY! I have affectionately named this KitchenAid K150 Blender, “JAWS”, because it is amazing at crushing ice. I am an avid 'Soup-A-Holic'. I love making hearty soups from fresh, seasonable vegetables, especially when the weather gets colder. This K150 makes light work of blending vegetables into a creamy consistency for delicious, healthy, soup bases. My older blender would only take small batches of cut up, steamed or roasted vegetables. “JAWS” can take over 40 ounces of veggies at one time of processing – amazing. “JAWS” is now my new kitchen Buddy. Here are the impressive features of “JAWS”, KitchenAid K150 3 Speed Ice Crushing Blender: * POWER – This unit uses 650 watts of power. The 3-speed motor is a Soft Start Motor Control, which starts out slowly pulling the ingredients into the blades, then gradually goes into maximum RPMs for that particular speed. What is great about Intelli-Speed® is the unique asymmetric blade blends at four distinct angles to pull ice into the center for ultimate crushing. How cool and efficient is that? I did not notice that this blender is any more noisier then my older unit. * BUILD – This unit is quality built. The base is heavy enough to keep the whole unit in place during any ice crushing or blending process. However, it is light enough to be portable to use any where I choose in my Kitchen. The base unit is made of heavy plastic, stainless steel, and is classy looking anywhere I place it on my counter tops. There are convenient lift cutouts on either side of the base for hand lifting. On the very bottom of the unit is a rubberized, non-slip gasket to keep the base from moving while I am using the blender. The large, 3-speed analog, control dial is easy to operate. It has four positions, 0 (OFF), Speeds 1, 2, 3, which are continuous for the particular speed selected. However, the PULSE setting is Momentary, and must be held down to operate for any length of time. The PULSE setting is to the Left and downward. What I also like about the base unit is that it is finished in a matte-black, fingerprint resistant finish. YooHoo! * BLENDER JARS – The main blender jar has a 48 oz capacity with a gasketed lid for a tight fit. It has a screw-in center cap for accessing the main blender jar to tap materials down, add items, and, or to stir the jar. It is made of lightweight Food-Grade Polycarbonate, which is shatter resistant compared to heavier glass. On either side of the pitcher handle are measuring lines marked in the pitcher for ounces or milliliters. The pitcher and both Polycarbonate 16 oz jars are BPA Free (Bisphenol A Free). It has been my experience with other Polycarbonate containers is that they are not rated to handle very hot liquids. So, I cool my steamed, or roasted vegetables before placing them in the main pitcher for blending. Do not place any very hot or boiling liquid items in these included jars. Each smaller 16 oz jar has its own convenient vented lid, which screws on to the top of each jar. There is a separate blade assembly unit for the 16 oz blender jars also. I can actually make fantastic, semi-frozen fruit Smoothies using these 16 oz jars. My Grand Kids love them. WooHoo! * MULTI-FUNCTIONAL - “JAWS” makes it possible for me to make healthy soups using seasonable vegetables. Steaming and roasting veggies for blending captures most of the flavors, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which makes using this blender a healthier way for us to prepare foods. And.. . . Grandma likes to make Smoothies for our Grand Kids with frozen bananas, frozen chunk pineapple for sweetness, and Almond Milk. I have a difficult time believing that her Smoothies are actually that healthy for them because they taste so doggone good! * EASY CLEANUP – Just a couple of drops of Dishwashing liquid in each jar and then place them back on the blender to whir around on Speed One for several minutes, rinse, and the Jars are cleaned. Love It! However, the Jars, lids, blade assembly, lid center cap can be cleaned in the top rack of my Dishwasher. I prefer the first method. * WARRANTY – One year hassle free replacement warranty. Details are included in the Operations Manual. I highly recommend this KitchenAid K150 Ice Crushing Blender for all it can do. Power to crush ice with ease, make Smoothies and Milkshakes, but it also give me an opportunity to prepare and eat healthier foods. Who doesn't like healthier? This blender would make a great wedding gift, shower, Christmas, or to any family member or special friend you care enough about. . . . .

    No Smoothies for You!

    Reviewed by - October 24, 2021

We bought this blender specifically for making smoothies. We've owned it less than a year and when using the personal cup mixer to make a smoothie, it came apart in the middle of the mixing process. I had to dig the blades out of my smoothie. I have since been using the actual blender to make my smoothies and it is a very frustrating process. It mixes terribly and constantly jams and struggles to cut through the fruit. In addition, when operated on speed 2, the whole blender vibrates across the counter and the speed knob falls off. This is not a great blender. Would not recommend.

If you like iced drinks or smoothies, love is near

    Reviewed by - November 2, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So when I first opened this up, I was a bit disappointed and even amazed that the blender jar was plastic, not glass. But the motor unit weighed a lot. In thinking of Kitchen-Aid, I knew this had to be a purposeful move, not a move to save money. I have a daughter, who does the dishes on many nights. And this blender jar and cups would be going in the dishwasher. However, if you have had someone near you who is a bit clumsy or whatever, you spend your life worried sick about them breaking glass stuff. So, honestly, this is a real blessing that this is all done in plastic. It isn't cheesy plastic, but it's not what I expected so I figured I'd get this out of the way first. Secondly, with a wife who is severely damaged both with arthritis and through a botched surgery that destroyed her ulnar nerve, you'd understand when I say plastic blender jar and plastic cups are good! So, as for the blending function, it does what it is supposed to do, including chunking up ice into your smoothie. I have used it to process up food for the dogs dinner, make smoothies, destroy ice cubes to make chipped ice for drinks, etc. without a single issue. It is no joke, it is a powerhouse. IT comes with the blender jar, but also two smoothie cups that you can blend into directly - which helps to keep your drink in your cup and not on the inside stuck to the sides of the blender. Smart! For anyone really, but especially for anyone who has special needs for things that are not glass for weight or breakage concerns, you'll want to consider this first. Trust me, the broken glass and weight of glass thing is bigger than you realize. It does what it does well, without any concern, and cleans up nicely in the dishwasher!

    Didn't Crush My Hopes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yes!!! This is just what the doctor ordered. The holidays are about to be in full swing and the gathering of.. Oh, wait. That's right. We're doing social distancing. Well, in any case. I'm going to be enjoying amazingly smooth smoothies and possibly the best margaritas, this side whatever watering hole you use to frequent. This blender is starting to make my house look like a coffee house and pub at the same time. ( I've got no complaints there.) It's compact enough to place in a small area like a dorm or small apartment and mobile enough to take to a friend's place.* The ice crusher isn't kidding around( Instant snow people) That's perfect for making daiquiris or just having shaved ice in your beverage. The 2 blending cups are awesome for making individual concoctions, but you still need to clean the blades between uses. Which shouldn't be an issue since they sprung for two cups. C'mon man! Simple, yet powerful, with its generator looking base. I swear that thing could jump start a Volvo, if needed. Power is good. The only problem I have with it, is the price. That's a lot of scratch for this thing. Yes. It's a great blender and it comes with 2 extra jars, but woo! KitchenAid really believes in their products. So with that in mind, I've gotta give them kudos. I still can recommend this to the friend that can afford it.

    Crushin It

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, this this blender knows how to blend. First thing I blended was ice. It made it into a nice even powder The unit is made of plastic whish surprised me a little, but it does feel well made and I am sure helps with the weight of the unit. You have 3 speeds + ice crush selection. The settings 1-3 will ramp up to speed to prevent splashing etc. The main blender jar has nice measurement marking on each side of the handle. The base has a notch so you can only place into the base unit one way. The motor to jar connection is a large gear assembly that The top fits very tight, nothing coming out one you secure. They top also has a center lid that you can remove by turning ½ turn counterclockwise. This is great for adding ingredients without the need to remove the large cover. The small personal jars are easy to use as well. You simply fill your jar with ingredients, spin on the jar blender attachment and place on blender base. After blended, simply unscrew your blender unit and screw on the jar top for drinking. Great for quick smoothie or protein drink on the go. Oh, and another nice touch is that built into the removable cap is 1 oz. / 1.5 oz. measuring shot. Great for adding a shot of your favorite alcohol to that smoothie. All in all, this is a nice addition to the kitchen and bar. Since it is KitchenAid I expect it to last a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] THE BREAKDOWN: This product was very well packaged. It came with the base, a separate base for use the to-go cups, a pitcher with lid, and 2 to-go cups with lids. The performance was excellent. I crushed ice, albeit not in 10 seconds but it got the crushed ice to bar quality for sure. It also does this without the motor heating up and melting the ice. I made several fruit and vegetables smoothies, all turned out excellent and well pureed with no chunks found. So, this this is pretty simple to use and easy to clean. It has 3 speeds plus a pulse that all work well and as intended. The unit itself isn’t the noisiest blender I have for sure. The 16 oz blender jars are really nice especially in the morning when I’m on the go. I like that it has a rubber seal that assists in the unit not leaking when you turn it upside down to blend. Not sure how long that seal will last but it is a nice feature. For me the lines on the inside of the cups are hard to see when filling. One last thing to not that I personally liked was that you can actually fill the cup past the top and it still blends it up without spilling. PRO’s: -Great ice crusher -Not super loud -The 16oz cups are awesome -3 speeds plus a pulse -You can purchase additional things like a juicer CON’s: -Takes a while to get good crushed ice -The measurement lines are hard to see on the 16 oz cups when filling SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked well and as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this.

The most noticeable feature is the intelligent motor control that actually senses what inside the blender to provide an adaptive speed to fit the ingredients, besides, when speed is selected, the motor starts at low speed and gradually increases until it reached the selected speed in order to blend the ingredients seamlessly. Classic design with straightforward functions. it adds a great look to my kitchen counter. Easy to clean and the jar is well-made. The two personal jars are just handy to prepare the smoothie and fruits mix and drink. Lastly, the blade is strong as it crushed the ice and blends frozen fruits out of the fridge. KitchenAid never disappointed me!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blender is actually really good. Blends ice, fruits with no issues. Has a part in the lid that comes off to add or to let out heat. I do wish it blended spinach into nothing-ness( you can still see specs of spinach but nothing bothersome) and that it came with a tampering stick but other than that it's a really great blender for the money
