Claude Chabrol (June 24, 1930 - September 12, 2010), with Truffaut, Godard, Rhomer and Rivette, The French New Wave revolutionized the way we see movies today. In this engrossing documentary, shot at a birthday celebration towards the end of his life, we go deep into the mind of Chabrol, the legendary director many call the French Hitchcock and the Balzac of Cinema. The director of classics such as Le Boucher, This Man Must Die and La Rupture. Like his films, Chabrol discusses his work amongst delicious meals with family, friends, ex-wives and actors. Chabrol also speaks to us one-on-one, directly dissecting both his choices and mistakes and what he has learned in his illustrious career. Since 1958, he made almost a film a year. His work constantly influenced cinema, including a Hollywood remake (Unfaithful). This film is the last word of Chabrol, his final stamp in his unmatched cinematic oeuvre.
