    Silent but Efficient

    Reviewed by - September 19, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] --- SETUP --- The setup for this Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard combo couldn’t be any simpler. Just plug in the USB transmitter into an open USB port of your PC or laptop and it works out of the box. Batteries are already installed on each device. The mouse uses one AA and the keyboard uses two AAA batteries. --- FEATURES --- The major key features of this keyboard/mouse combo is that the keyboard keys are silent when pressed, they use one receiver for both, and they are wireless. Additionally, the keyboard is a full-sized keyboard with great spacing between the arrow keys and number pad. The keyboard has shortcut keys for volume, mute, pause/play media, home website launch, email launch, PC standby mode, and calculator. --- PERFORMANCE --- The performance of the keyboard is great but it does take some getting used to. For starters, the silent keys are actually silent. As the typist, you will hear each press but your co-workers or family members probably won’t. It is most noticeable when pressing the space key. However, compared to other keyboards I use, this one feels like I have to apply just a slight bit of extra pressure to each key to the point where sometimes I will type a word with a missing letter because I didn’t press the key deep enough. Over time, I can see myself getting used to how much pressure to apply to each key. Some other features that I appreciate from this keyboard is the ability to control media with keyboard shortcuts. There’s a home key that opens my homepage browser and another key that opens my default email app. Perhaps the key that surprised me the most is the calculator key. Since I do shop online often, it's good to have a dedicated key to the calculator to do some quick, simpler math. My previous wireless mouse was also a logitech one. This new one has a nicer convex shape that feels better to use over an entire workday. The mouse glides with ease on a mousepad and the speed of the mouse on screen is fast enough for basic needs. --- EXPECTATIONS --- The product meets my expectations. I immediately went to the suggested website for support to find any software to download for the keyboard but I didn’t find any. This means that, at least at the time of review, I couldn’t customize the shortcuts or the speed the desktop mouse can travel at. That, in combination with the extra pressure needed for each key makes this a 4 star keyboard/mouse combo, but more than satisfies the needs for an affordable upgrade vs. whatever came with your computer. --- VALUE --- The price for the MK295 combo in terms of value is great for an entry level wireless keyboard/mouse combo that has no bells and whistles but is enjoyable to use. --- APPROVAL --- I highly recommend this product for people who want a full size wireless keyboard/mouse combo for work/school purposes. I would not recommend this for gaming.

Great feel and response for keyboard and mouse

    Reviewed by - September 28, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This MK295 Keyboard and Mouse combo are fantastic right out of the box. The USB receiver plugged right into my laptop's USB port and was immediately ready for plug and play usage. I love the look of this black/graphite colored keyboard when using it with my 13" laptop. My laptop is smaller for easy portability, but using the laptop touchpad and keyboard keys can be challenging for all day meetings. The Logitech MK295 keyboard is a full size keyboard and I feel it makes my work day and leisure time on the computer much more enjoyable. Typing feels more natural with the spacing out of the keys on a full size keyboard. The beauty of this keyboard is that these are full sized keys with some chunky feel to them versus the chiclet type keyboards that are common on laptops. The feel of these buttons at your finger tips are very nice with a quick response and never any lag whatsoever. The keyboard has the Logitech feature of SilentTouch which proves to be very nice. As I type right now the keys are quiet, as if they are sound dampening the individual keystrokes. Perfect for a busy office desk setting or a more serene work at home setting. There isn't of the usual clicking and clacking of keys and I like it that way. The keyboard is ready for Windows and has some great hot keys on the top of the keyboard. Volume/music controls, home key, mail key, power key, and a calculator. It all works quickly and very responsively. Also on the underside are keyboard legs which allow for 8 degrees of an angle to the keyboard. As for the mouse it's a great fit in your hands with a slight arch that fits appropriately with your hands natural curve. The mouse also has the SilentTouch treatment and dampens the sounds of your clicks and scroll wheel usage. Perfect for quiet usage without disturbing others around you. The mouse is quick and accurate with it's responses and I haven't seen any lag issues whatsoever. In my opinion this is a great full size keyboard addition to anyone using a desktop, but especially for laptop users that don't want to feel constrained to a smaller laptop keyboard. Working from home or working in an office setting, this is a great laptop to have when you're stationary and in need of a full size keyboard, arrow keys, and number pad. If I had one wish, I would love to see this with illuminated keys at this price point. PRO: SilentTouch technology for quiet usage Hot Keys for quick access Nice looks along with the angled keyboard ability Fast response and no lag Plug and play for immediate setup CON: None

Great Quality & Features; Not Backward Compatible

    Reviewed by - September 19, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I noticed was that the USB dongle was set in the box flap. (see photo) Handy, but a poor choice, as many, many, MANY people do not open packages as they were intended to be opened. With Logitech’s Unifying Receiver tech (photo), multiple devices can connect using the same dongle. Logitech wireless devices always have a place to store extra dongles, which is very handy for people like me who lose small parts. (photos) Since I already had one plugged into the computer for my old mouse, I decided to use that one with the new mouse and keyboard. Wrong. These new devices weren’t recognized by my unifying receiver. No problem; I’ll just use the new one. It worked fine with both, as expected. Unfortunately, my old mouse would not work with the new receiver. Seems Logitech has made a clean break to a new version. Too bad. Still, connection was fast and easy. The mouse was typical of a small Logitech mouse: good feel, precise resolution, etc. The marketing for the keyboard focuses on its tactile feel and silent operation. It doesn’t disappoint in this regard, and feels solid enough to inspire confidence. The batteries in both devices (a single AA for the mouse and a couple AAAs in the keyboard) were the expected El Cheapo “GP” brand designed to last long enough for you to get up and running, and then get to the store to get some real batteries. The ones that came with mine were dead. All of them. Lucky for me, I keep a quantity of Duracells handy. I held back one star because of the lack of backward compatibility.

An affordable wireless silent keyboard/mouse combo

    Reviewed by - September 20, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new Logitech MK295 Wireless Mouse & Keyboard Combo is an affordable, basic but quite practical keyboard and mouse. The setup is seamless, just plug in the included nano USB wireless receiver and let Windows or Chrome OS detect it. Then pull the tab off that protects the included batteries in shipping and turn the on/off switch on the keyboard and the mouse, and voila, you’re in business. The keyboard is pretty standard size, about 18” wide with the standard arrow keys and numeric keypad. Additionally, there is a row of 8 shortcut keys above the function keys that allow you to quickly control common music player, volume and mute, home key, email app, PC sleep/stand-by and calculator launch. The mouse (M220) is similar in size and feel to a travel mouse with the exception that it is nearly silent when you click the buttons or the wheel. Likewise the keyboard is also nearly silent. It does feel different than other mechanical, more clicky keyboards, but that’s to be expected. To me it feels like there is a bit more resistance, or a more muffled/mushy feeling. That could also be because we’re so used to hearing more clicking while typing and when the expected clicking sound is not there, it subconsciously makes it feel more different than it really is. It’ll probably take some getting used to but overall it’s a good, inexpensive wireless keyboard and mouse combo that is bound to be trouble-free for years to come. At least that’s my experience with other Logitech keyboards and mice over the years.

    Definitely Quieter Keyboard and Mouse

    Reviewed by - September 17, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was using a wired keyboard that came with a different desktop computer and a Logitech M317 wireless mouse before switching to the MK295 Keyboard & Mouse combo. My previous wireless keyboard didn't have a very long battery life, so a wired one made my life easier. MK295 eliminated that concern for me with its longer battery life (36 months for the keyboard and 18 months for the mouse), so I look forward to not changing batteries constantly. As for the 'silent' aspect, I was definitely most excited about this feature as I absolutely hate the clicking noise. MK295 greatly reduced the noise but did not completely eliminate it, so it is a stretch to call it silent. As another reviewer pointed out, I also noticed that the scroll wheel of the mouse makes a hollow sound, that is different from a standard (non-silent) mouse, but still audible. It is not a deal breaker for me, but I thought it was worth noting. Four main features I wanted to highlight: 1) 8 shortcut keys at the top of keyboard – helpful add-on; my favorite is the calculator. 2) USB receiver – only one to connect both the keyboard and the mouse, which is great. It is inserted inside the box, though (not inside or underneath the mouse), so if you are not paying close attention, you may accidentally throw it out with the box, so be careful! 3) Mouse – my M317 illuminates in green when it is first turned on, but MK295 does not. I hope it illuminates the entire time, so I know when I forget to turn it off without flipping it over - although this could use up more battery. 4) Keyboard – since I am switching from a wired keyboard, I was very excited to see the on/off switch. The placement of certain keys is slightly different from a standard keyboard, so it may take a little bit of getting used to, such as F12 vs. Print Screen. Overall, I am very pleased with my new keyboard and mouse combo and highly recommend it.

    Silent, but uncomfortable

    Reviewed by Nick - January 18, 2022

Truly disappointing. Although pretty silent, but keypress is hard and keys must be pressed exactly vertically, else they are even more harder. The keypress travel is long, making things even worse. The rebound click is hollow and annoying. My fingers got tired typing after only a couple of hours of work each day. After trying to get used to for about 3 weeks, I finally decided to return it and get a keyboard from another manufacturer. I tried many kind of different keyboards in store, but the only keyboard from Logitech which was comfortable was the mx series one, but that one was twice as pricy.

    Quiet typing with great feel

    Reviewed by - September 22, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The MK295 keyboard and mouse are just what I was looking for. The feel when typing is excellent with precise feedback. The size of the the keyboard is perfect for comfortable typing. The mouse fits well in my and maintains a solid connects with the usb receiver. The keyboard the MK295 replaces was loud and sloppy feeling when moving over the keys. The MK295 is direct and tight. This is a solid and economical keyboard and mouse set.

Great if you are looking for silence

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - April 29, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My sister bought this for me when I was visiting and working from her house and I liked it so much I bought one for my house as well. I absolutely HATE the clicking sounds regular keyboards and mice make so this was an absolute must for me. I don't know how to explain it but the keyboard still has the clicky feel without the loud clicky sound. The mouse is perfect if you have small hands but I would look for something else if you have big hands. These are basic items (hence the low price) so you get what you pay for and I've read reviews about the print fading from the keyboard so I'll see if/when that happens and look for a replacement.
