- Plug & Play Easy- July 26, 2015
Installed in my newly constructed home. Home came with a "structured wiring" package, that I expanded to run LAN connections throughout home, to plug all Smart TV's, Xbox's and Apple Airport Extremes to each floor to extend and give me the fastest network (vs. all wireless). This Switch has no external cooling needed, so Installed in the structured wiring box. I opted for this Switch vs. one installed with house because one that came with house was not Gigabit rated nor had enough ports. I'm no network specialist, but system appears to be runing well, fast, and stark improvement over previous home's wireless only system.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Perfect replacement for three switches- May 4, 2018
As my home network evolved so did the amount of ethernet ports. As I upgraded my network I needed a single switch to accommodate my needs and this was the perfect fit. Solid construction with the right amount of weight to ground it; a welcomed change as my other switches were plastic and often fell from the ethernet connections. The status light indicators are easy to see and determine which connections are running properly and the top of the box allowed me to attach labels for each ethernet connection, Highly recommend this switch for those who need more ethernet connections and who plan on needing more in the future.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- It's a switch...- January 1, 2009
I have the 5-port and 8-port versions of this same switch. Ran out of ports on my 8-port GS108, so decided to get the 16-port version. Not much to install - it's a switch. DO NOTE HOWEVER, that the power supply for the GS116 is *different* from the GS108 (at least from what I got). The GS108 had a 12V, 1.0A power supply. The GS116 on the other hand has a 12V, 1.5A power supply, so if you're upgrading be sure to swap BOTH the switch itself AND the power supply. Other than that, not much else to say. It's a ProSafe product, so it has a lifetime guarantee. A single 16-port switch costs more than two 8-port switches, but it's more convenient to have a single 16-port switch for me.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
