    Solid Product, Native* speed GREAT!

    Reviewed by - February 8, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product looks very sleek. The black textured top looks like modern art, nicely fits into a modern home as far as decor goes. Setting up: 1. You need to use the Blackhawk App on your phone 2. Scanning the QR code on the router was seamless and worked effectively. 3. Though you have scanned the QR code the setup seems to be scanning for the router, but sits there looking for the router, you must click on the help icon to understand that there is a password and wifi network name you must enter into your phone wifi to connect the app, this took me a few minutes to figure out. Also the app tells you to reboot each component, like your home gateway that is connecyed to the internet, this can take 5 minutes. 4. Once you have connected it walks you through a configuration to setup your network, naming it from the original and setting a password, when you do this you will need to re-connect your phone wifi to the newly named network, could be a little smoother. 5. Once connected the device will need to update it's firmware and reboot. This takes an additional 5 minutes and you need to activate the firmware download on your phone app. Overall a smooth process. The app does a lot of "thinking" and spinning wheels will make you wait. 6. Once the firmware has updated, you will be prompted to join a support program, for $29.00, you would think that for $200+ this would be included, at least for a little while. When you click on the skip or maybe later, the text is hard to click and after a few tries I got to the home screen. This is where you will see the update satellite firmware notice. 5-10 minutes later it will finish and you will be able to use the features of the app. It may ask you to setup your network again? But you can skip it. Weird. 7. App features and overall connectivity speeds. When testing my wifi speed to the app, it was close (934 mb) to the native speed of the router! Sitting right next to the router I managed a "Good" (-56) Signal strength. You would think sitting next to the router it would be faster. 8. When using my devices I DID NOT see any speed increases, I tested with my Macbook, IMac, and phone. The speeds were actually lower than connecting via my ATT residential gateway, the app registered nearly 950MB but my devices struggled to get to the 200MB mark. Not sure why this would be the case. I used Fast.com and speedtest.net both registered 200-350 mb down, when I connected natviely to my other gateway provided network I was getting 600+ mb. Not sure I can fault the product, could be a wireless card issue on my machines, interestly though I did get similar speed difference on my mobile device. The ping test were similar 5-15ms, which was nice. Overall the product was solid, set-up may provide a small challenge to the non-technical, I was disappointed in the promise of higher speed, but getting such mediocre speeds disappointed, the software was easy to use and adds a few more features that haven't been available using other products. Network diagramming, wifi speed tester and wifi signal strength. The ability to setup and configure through the app is nice.

    So far so good.

    Reviewed by - January 20, 2020

Just has this for less than a week. So far when connect to wifi 6, it is very fast and no drop signal just yet. However I see the discrepancy in speed test when using nighthawk and speedtest app. See the attached pictures. Aren't they supposed to be the same?

Now I am getting fast internet

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 12, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old router was over 10 years old but was dual band. However I couldnt ever get above 100 mbps. even though I live in a condo I had some bad areas (back porch) front yard where wifi was pitiful. This new router with the mesh system now blankets all of the above and I have jumped in speed. The mesh system is definately the way to go. The app is easy to use as well, much easier than the olden days. I am still having difficulty in switching off/on the 5ghz and only using the 2.4 ghz. but I will learn or figure it out. SOme of my devices only use the 2.4ghz and even though both are broadcasting my devices only see the 5ghz and wont connect.

Fixed my Xfinity Wifi Dropping Issues

    Reviewed by - September 29, 2021

The Xfinity tech after more than 8 years of visits to try and solve the dropping Wifi internet connection recommended buying my own modem and separate wifi router, so I bought MR60 mesh and ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1. This fixed 95% of my issues, which exceeded my expectations. I have 4 kids who use a lot of bandwidth (Xbox, PS4, PC Gaming, Netflix, Prime, Alexa, etc...) I don't hear my kids yelling that they lost a game because of the internet dropping off! All my speed tests across the 4 levels (Basement up to the attic) are top speeds with full wifi strength. I thought I was going to need a 3rd satellite, but it's all good.

    Plug

    Reviewed by - October 31, 2021

This has to be the easiest piece of equipment that I have ever set up for our office. We used to have very spotty WiFi coverage at our warehouse. With this mesh system, we have flawless coverage anywhere we go on our campus. The app makes set up a breeze! Once you have the main network set up, adding additional satellites is a s simple as plugging them in. After that, they connect by themselves and begin repeating WiFi. As opposed to other mesh networks I’ve tried in the past, handoff from satellite to satellite is seamless. We are now able to get blazing fast speeds everywhere, wether walking around the campus or standing stationary. 10/10

Easy set up, but no Circle

    Reviewed by - November 30, 2020

I bought this about 2 months ago and found that it's better than my old Nighhawk, extends to every corner of my house, so wifi is not an issue, and it's reliable. Problem is you have to pay for Armor, which I did with mixed results. I'm not seeing the value of armor and it's not telling me what's it's avoided. I also find that it lacked Circle, which my older router had included. When I contacted support they mentioned it would be on their radar, I saw it mentioned with the app, but it doesn't work and if it did you have to pay for that also. I don't mind 1 subscription service, but two seems like I just need to buy something else.

    5x speed upgrade

    Reviewed by - May 11, 2024

I was starting to see some delays in video conference calls while working from home and decided to upgrade my old Eero mesh system. I couldn't justify the expense of a Wifi7 system so I decided on the Netgear Nighthawk Wifi6 Mesh. Setup was easy and I had all my devices running and reconnected in less than an hour. Little trick - I used the same SSID and password for the new network as I used for my old one so everything reconnected without issue. I would recommend this mesh solution. I've used Netgear products in the past, pre-mesh technology and they were always high performing and reliable. I was happy to see the quality has continued.

    Best Wifi System

    Reviewed by - April 18, 2021

My wife and I have struggled to troubleshoot our Wireless networking problem. Our kids and number of wireless devices have been steadily growing over the last 5 years. Our issues have been dead spots in particular rooms and wireless traffic at certain times of the day. After much research and product testing this was the answer to our prayers. This device can handle the heavy workload of many devices connected and streaming at one time (8 by our count. 4 phones, 2 computers, 2 tablets.) It also eliminated the dead zones by having the additional 2 satellites included with the package. THANK YOU NETGEAR!!! You have won a customer for life!

Stable at first, Got worse and no updates/help

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 17, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Became unusable over time. Kept dropping wifi connections. You get a mesh system to reduce dropping, this increased it. I stopped using it altogether and went back to my older AC router and AP to bring back my connection. Netgear support was worthless and I waited and hoped they would update the firmware. I couldn't wait any longer since the wife has to work from home. I ultimately replaced it with a much more robust Wifi-6 system with Unifi. So bummed I wasted money on this system, but I'm happily using a proper system that doesn't try and spam me with "secure features". Instead I bought a system that does it without extra cost.

    Very good range and signal

    Reviewed by - February 4, 2021

The wifi router that we used to have was very old and had a bad range and signal. My kids have online school and they would complain that the wifi would stop. But after we switched to NETGEAR Nighthawk Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 System, we didn’t have a single problem (literally) with the wifi. The range is really good since the signal is really good at the opposite corner of the house (it used to be really bad). I’ve never used a wifi router this good. Since the day we’ve put the router in place, there wasn’t a single connection issue. We have 15 devices in our house and the wifi doesn’t get slow or weak. It is very reliable and I recommend buying it.
