Not for small hands

I like the controller, but I cannot use it because the control sticks sit so high that i cant get my thumb to reach in all directions on the left... it is very uncomfortable to use.

Faulty D pad

D pad is faulty, triggers the wrong direction when pressed rapidly. Very common issue.

great for the more serious gamer

Great for the switch user on Mario Kart 8 who is more serious about winning.

Responsive and great battery life

So far I enjoy this controller playing Zelda and Mario Kart. Great battery life and fairly quick charge time. Feels good and sturdy

Best Yet

Fantastic. I have bigger hands, and this is the most comfortable one I've ever used. The larger buttons take some getting used to, but they aren't that weird. I'm buying another.

Vwry confortable

Price may put you off but it's well worth it, this is among the best controllers on the market today and it rivals the Xbox One and PS4 controllers.

Worth the money!

It's a little more expensive than controllers on other consoles, but it's totally worth it. The buttons feel great, as does the controller in general and the battery life alone justifies the additional cost. I've been using this every day for several weeks and haven't had to charge it yet.

More comfortable then the joycons.

Although I appreciate them for what they are. I find that for certain games, I struggle a little with the joycons: buttons might be a little small, I tend to click the analogue sticks causing issues, small lapses in connection to the unit. They're a great size for my wife and they work fine when mounted on the unit for portable play. I have had no-such issues with the pro controller. The only issue is I tend to hit the "capture" button when aiming for the "-" button. I just need to retrain myself a little. But it's offer a solid play experience. It even comes with its own charge cable. (I've only needed to charge it once so far.) I've only docked it one star since I think it's quite a hefty price.

The optimal way to play the Switch

As a person who has played Xbox 360 and Xbone for the majority of his gaming career, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is a life saver. It takes the best parts of both the DualShock 4 and Xbox One Controller, then smushes them together. The shoulder buttons are similar to the DualShock 4s while the face buttons, sticks and D-pad are almost identical to that of a Xbox one Controller. This controller feels good to hold in my hands, which is something i struggle to say about the Joy Cons. If you want to save hyrule, or just dig a hole whilst fully clad in armour, BUY THIS CONTROLLER! Your hands and your wallet will thank you!

Good, too pricey

I won't lie, the controller feels good in the hands. Which is more than many can say about the tiny joy cons Nintendo packs with the Switch. This controller is fairly well built, but Nintendo but at the end of the day it is far too expensive.

Awesome controller

Right weight, good feel, everything I wanted

  • from Toronto, ON

Great controller

Probably the best controller i have held. Only thing is the dpad is not up to Nintendo's he really high quality. Right and up often times get confused.

Good product

Product as described will say it feels great in the hands. Will be an awesome controller when we get a FPS game

  • from Angus, ON

A must HAVE for the Switch

Best play experience with the pro controller

  • from Vancouver, BC

Great Product

Love the feel of this. the added weight over holding the joycons is great. feels a lot more solid and will use this when the switch is docked.

Bad D-Pad

The D-pad on the controller I received was faulty. after a quick lookup online it seems this is happening to others as well. the left direction on the d-pad registers maybe 20% of the time, with some presses registering as the up direction..... Will be returning.

Amazing ergonomy and quality, lack of headphone jack

Controller is very comfortable and quality feels great, it would be my favorite controller if it wasn't for the lack of a headphone jack :(

Love it!

This controller is very similar to the Xbox/PlayStation styles. It is comfortable to grip and never gets too heavy to hold. The only con I have found: The camera and home buttons are too close to the - and + buttons. I often hit the wrong one! The charge lasts over 20 hours and can be charged while playing via the AC adapter. The unit come with an USB charging cord, but I found it too short to use while playing. Recommended.

Good Job Nintendo!

Very well made. Handles better than the other controllers.

Fantastic and Essential

The Swicth Pro Controller is fantastic. It much more comfortable than a PS4 controller, comfortable like an XBONE controller. The battery charge lasts for an extremely long time compared to the PS4. Way more comfortable than the connected joy cons as well. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best of this gen controllers, its sturdy, comfortable, and well worth the money. It's an essential companion to the switch.

Works great. Also can connect to PC via bluetooth.

Less then mediocre controller sold at the highest price point

For any gamer looking for a more traditional controller for the switch, wait for a third party manufacturer. The construction of the controller makes it feel quite cheap, the controller, ergonomically is pretty average, not better then the DS4, not worse then the original xbox controllers. The biggest gripe with the controller is the actual analog sticks. There is drift, they're weak, light the thumb pads are smaller then normal. Nintendo really scammed me with the 'pro' prefix.

Worth the Price

I won't lie, price is up there. But for a comfortable controller for longer play sessions I enjoy it a lot more then the Joy cons. Battery life is long and is rechargeable off the bat.

  • from Burlington, ON

must have controller

Makes playing the game easier when at home, charge lasts longer too

  • from Edmonton, AB

Faulty on Arrival

Would not properly calibrate with Switch.

Must Have

When playing Nintendo Switch on the TV, this controller makes the experience better, as it looks and feels like a traditional gaming controller. If you're a fan of the Xbox One controller, you will also like the Switch Pro Controller. It may be pricey but it has many great features, such as: HD Rumble, amiibo reader, motion controller, gyro control, and a 40 hour battery life.

Wonderful battery life and feel. Definitely one of my favourite controllers

Must-have for serious gamers

I've been using the Pro Controller since launch. It's defiantly a great addon for any serious Switch gamer. The formfactor is pretty similar to an Xbox 360/One controller, although it's not identical. It has a great feel, nice and robust, and even the triggers have a nice weight to them despite not being analog. The batter life is pretty awesome as well - 35 hours into Breath of the wild and I've only charged the pro controller once. It's certainly tough going back to the joy-con controllers after using this. Minus one star for the crazy high price (might be minus two for some people, it's very expensive). Pros: - Great feel/weight - Triggers are nice despite not being analog - Analog joysticks are nicely placed, have a nice click to them too - Significantly more comfortable than Joy-cons Cons: - Very expensive

Could not live without it

Well built, heavy, long battery life, can be used via the USB port of the Switch: this controller is simply perfect. Rivals the PS4 (though not AS good) for best controller in my opinion. Playing with the joycons and the plastic holder does not compare to this beast of a controller. Worth its (expensive) price. Every dollar.

Switch Pro Controller Impressions

In the box -Pro controller -Thick USB to USB type-C cable Experience Played with the pro controller for a week and my impressions. So far compared to the joycons, the pro controller feels comfortable in the hand, natural when i move my thumb from the X,Y,A,B buttons to the analog stick and so far dont feel my hands cramp up when playing for extended period of time (2-3hr). Can't complain about battery life, and cant say how long it takes to charge from out of the box as i left it to charge over night out of the box with an old phone charger. For the whole week on a single charge, i played four 2-3hr sessions and did not have the controller die on me. it would have been nice to have a indicator on the controller for battery level. the rubbery material covering the analog stick get dirty fairly easily. the rest of the body of the controller is made with matte finished plastic so wont see finger prints. Is the controller essential? For me, NO. I feel there is an imbalance of price and immediate utility. Because I use the switch mostly in portable mode (undocked) so i dont use the pro controller as often. Summary Pros - the controller feels more natural and comfortable in the hand (compared to joy cons in the joy con grip) - no problems with connectivity - long battery life - matte finish for the controller Cons - the price, its really pricey - rubbery material of the pro controller gets dirty easily

Must have accessory.

Great build quality. Feels good in hand. Looses one star for price. There is a lot of tech inside though so the price is justifiable.
