What customers are saying

The Panamax 5400 power conditioner is widely praised for its ability to improve audio and video quality and protect expensive home theater equipment. Many reviewers note a significant enhancement in picture and sound clarity, as well as reliable voltage regulation that effectively handles power fluctuations. Nice quality and smart move to protect components

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - April 21, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Impressed with build quality and features. It’s a little on the large size to fit in a cabinet, probably better for a rack (comes with rack hardware). I like that it shows how many volts or amps the components draw so you can make sure it doesn’t overload a 15 amp circuit I am noticing a slight hum when it’s on, but it doesn’t transfer to speakers, sub, etc. curious if others get this as well... Otherwise would be 5 stars

    The best protection I found

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 26, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to make sure my LG 65EG9600 was well protected. Not to mention my top of the line Sony blu-ray player and my PS4. Plus whatever else was going to be near there. This is great. I know everything is protected! Not only can I see the input and output on the front of the unit, there are several banks in the back to help separate everything out. TV on one bank, blu-ray player on the other, Sonos playbar and sub on the third, and PS4 on the last. If you have a lot of high end products I would recommend this to you. It was recommended to me by an audiophile who is going to school for audio. So his recommendation went a long way.

    Works as Advertised

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - December 17, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace a Monster Power box that died in a surge. So far, this Panamax has done exactly what it's supposed to do- provide power and filter out noise. The switched outlets work as advertised and the front display can be dimmed or turned off entirely. I haven't had any issues with hum which some other reviewers mention, but it's also hidden away in a cabinet in my A/V closet. It's 5 stars at $464, only four at MSRP- wait for it to go on sale if you can.

I didn’t know how much I needed this...

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - January 16, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] WOW! What a huge difference this has made in my system. I updated my older Marantz receiver to the SR6013, and while it sounded great with the warm audio Marantz is known for, it would limit its’ output and never seemed to get as loud as I expected. Add the Panamx 5400, and instant goosebumps. I have 20+ yo Definitive mains and center, newer SVS sub, and Klipsch surrounds. I was considering using the money I spent on the Panamax towards a second sub; I’m not exaggerating when I say that it sounds like I did! It’s literally like I have a completely new system. I could not be happier. If you’re on the fence, all I can say is it has been well worth the cost for the results. WOW.

    Awesome Purchase!

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - May 27, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I read several reviews and felt this buy would benefit me. I was right. I had all my electronics plugged into 2 low end power surge protectors...then I bought the panamax. I have an OLD Samsung LED tv bought in 2008, apple tv, bose cinemate 10, samsung dvd blu-ray player, xfinity cable and wi-fi. I plugged all these electronics into the appropriate receptacles of the panamax and WOW, The picture was greatly improved, to the point that I am rethinking getting rid of this tv after buying a new one. The sound from my outdated Bose Cinemate is crisper and more delineated. I am looking forward to upgrading my home theater system, but, I understand how important electrical conditioning decreases "noise" and how it improves the performance of each piece of the home theater bundle. I highly recommend even if you have an old a**system like mine.

So much more than a surge protector

    Reviewed by - September 21, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two of these along with two Panamax MR5100s and I must say that these are the best Best Buy has to offer from Panamax. 11 total outlets. 4 always-on linear filtered outlets across two banks, 4 switched linear filtered outlets across two banks and 2 High Current Switch Deleyad outlets - All with Voltage Regulation. 12 v trigger in to turn on switched banks in sequence and a 12 v trigger out to connect to another component, Level 4 Noise Filtration in your switched and Always-On Outlets. 3 sets of coaxial in and out, 2 sets of RJ 45 Ethernet/Lan and a set of RJ 11 Telephone in/out for total protection of all connected devices. Boasts an impressive 2125 Joule Surge Protection rating.

    Nice!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this to protect my HT equipment. Also, to improve overall picture quality and sound. This product certainly did the trick. Great investment and protection. Im also thinking of exchanging this for the model below 5300 cause the only difference is the voltage regulator feature which in my area i wouldn't need it. The only time you would think of getting the 5400 is if your area has really inconsistent or huge fluctuations in power running through your home. Your voltage in your home should be consistent at around 120 Volts. Also, save some money. So, I would consult with a electrician or PG&E to see if you have that issue. Other than that AWESOME unit. I'm thinking of buying another one. LoL!

Best power conditioner you can get!

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - May 15, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two M5400-PM’s, one I bought 10 years ago that is still going strong in my loving room home theater system and just purchased another for my office/gaming setup. The power conditioning and voltage regulation is top notch. Not only will it improve your audio and video quality but it will also extend the life of you electronic equipment while protecting it from power surges. How much money do you have plugged into a crappy surge protector? You were willing to spend thousands on a tv, receiver, speakers, blu-ray player and gaming systems but only $50 on what they plug into?

The Panamax M5400-PM is a must have

    Reviewed by - August 4, 2010

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At $700, their M5400-PM is the system that more of us can afford to drive. The M5400 doesn't include some of the M7500's higher end features, like the very cool, retro analog needled meters, but it does supply all of the power management basics required by a medium sized home theater. To begin, I'm a sucker for those glowing blue lights on the front, especially the silver encircled voltmeter and ammeter. Beyond giving voltage in and out readings, they make great night lights. But if they are too bright for your room, you can cycle through four levels with the button on the left.

Best thing you can do for your home theater

    Reviewed by - November 6, 2009

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is easily a key add on for any serious home theater. I like that the front LED's can dim so it's not too distracting when the lights are off. Also, it has 5 separate filters so that all of the things I have plugged in do not give off a lot of noise to the other components. That noise most people experience is like a snowy/grainy picture or popping sounds out of the speakers. Also, 2 outlets are dedicated for high current which is designed for an amp + sub but doesn't limit the capabilities of it. Basically your 1500 watt sub can deliver 1500 watts :) highly recommended
