[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit and had it installed by Best Buy in early November of 2021. Almost three months later and I have to say that it was money well spent. The touch screen is very responsive and the Android auto/apple carplay works like a charm. As soon as I plug my Android into my car's USB port, it automatically switches to the Android auto on the unit. The microphone that comes with it is a neat feature as well, although I find that it's not always that good at registering what I'm trying to say. I noticed that the volume settings are pretty customizable, as you can customize things like the bass. I also like how you can customize the background and background color of the unit, as well as the color of the buttons on the unit. There's actually a color slider that allows you to choose which specific color you want the buttons to be if you don't like any of the preset colors. In terms of cons, I recently encountered a bug where the Android auto wouldn't show up on the unit when I plugged in my phone, as the unit would just show a dark screen. I would shut off my car's engine and turn it back on and the android auto still wouldn't show up, as all I would see is the same dark screen. This only happened once though so far, and I've been able to use Android auto since then without that bug happening again, almost as if the issue somehow fixed itself. Hopefully, that was just a one time thing. The only other con I could think of is the fact that there's no volume knob, as the volume buttons are a little small. It would be a bigger issue for me if I didn't have the steering wheel controls hooked up to the unit. This was my first Pioneer but I'm very impressed with the system and the brand overall. I see why Pioneers are so commonly used in my area, and would 10/10 recommend this particular head unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this deck to add android auto/apple car play to my 2009 toyota camry xle. It's a great deck for adding modern navigation and smartphone control to an older car! It also has the capability to retain steering wheel control inputs (hardware sold separately and varies depending on vehicle) The only downside is that when adding a backup camera, there are no setting to permanently "set" the parking lines in place. If you want the backup lines to come up, you have to tap the screen every time the backup camera turns on

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this in my 2009 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited to replace the factory radio. I also installed the iDatalink Maestro module to retain all of the factory original features and was required in order to control front to rear fade as I kept the factory Infinity amplifier. The Maestro also gives me an engine gauge screen on the new Pioneer, tire pressure, door status, battery voltage, and engine error code display/reset via the ODB connector. I also replaced all of the factory speakers. JBL Harman components in the front, JBL coaxials in sound bar, and a Pioneer low profile sub in the rear. Finally I also installed a backup camera which is displayed on the Pioneer screen. So far I love the Pioneer head unit. Amazing sound quality, great features. I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Android Auto is really cool. Allows me to run Waze navigation and other apps like Pandora when my phone is plugged into the Pioneer USB port. My only complaints, thus the 4 stars: (1) Wish there were two USB ports, keep switching between USB thumb drive loaded with music files and my phone for navigation. (2) Control buttons on left side are rather small. Overall a great radio and great price! Was $450 but got it on sale for $299. TIP: The Metra dash install/trim kit I used has very soft/cheap plastic, cracks easily. I've read that Scosche makes a better quality one and will pursue that brand for future installs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this stereo installed about three weeks ago and love it. It's easy to use, sounds great, and the features are awesome. I use Waze as my navigation system through Android Auto and have had no problems yet. The display looks nice on this unit. I've had no issues with glare. WebLink is very easy to use if you want to watch YouTube while the parking break is on. Phone calls are very clear, and text messages/DMs are easy to hear and respond to. Everything has been top notch so far. I'm more than pleased.

We have a pioneer deck in our other vegicle so we wanted another one similiar for ease of operation. This thing is great and it plays dvds. Couldnt be happier. Best buy was the cheapest out of all retailers we checked

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upgraded 2013 Tucson audio to pioneer avh-2550nex. Sound quality so much better than oem radio with oem speakers. Easy to install, added rear view camera, parking brake bypass and idatalink maestro Sw for steering wheel control. Now I have navigation thru Android Auto/Apple Car Play using Waze. also removed original usb and audio port replaced with mic and pioneer usb cord. Very happy how everything works except can not use voice steering control on android phone but works on apple phone on radio but voice works on both phones in android auto and Car play.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with this stereo. I chose this radio for a few different reasons. First, I really enjoy that 2 phones can be connected at the same time. I have a work cell phone and a personal cell phone I keep on me almost all the time, and it is very convenient that both can be connected at the same time in case I get a call on either while driving. Second, I love that I can customize the home screen app layout, background images, and color scheme. I was able to accurately match the same colors as the rest of the lit-up components on my dash, so the stereo gives off the impression that it's OEM. Lastly, I installed 4 Pioneer A-series speakers before I had this head unit installed (2-6.5" in front doors, 2-6x9s in the back). I would have to turn the volume all the way up on the factory stereo before the speaker would start to bump, but with this head unit, the car is rattling at only 1/3 of maximum volume. This is almost entirely due to the increased power this stereo puts out compared to the factory one, but it also has to do with all the different audio settings available on this head unit. I can individually increase volume levels on each speaker relative to each other, customize the EQ settings, and add a bass boost that nearly turns my 6x9s into subs. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase. I did a lot of research beforehand, and decided that this was the best stereo for me. I don't care about the size of the buttons, and if it really bothers you, just use the remote that comes with it (duuuhhh, smh). PS. android auto works for me, weblink works for me, and if it doesn't work for you, it is likely because the cable you're using sucks. Try getting a higher grade cable, that's what worked for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good however it has an iPod option that I think is unnecessary since I don’t think anyone has an iPod any longer and I’d like to be able to remove it since it was accidentally accessed and now shows up. Also Apple play should be a Bluetooth option that allows you the same access as using your usb cord to connect to Apple play I thought I was upgrading my stock stereo and screen for a great experience with this pioneer one but I’m not totally thrilled. Also I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max which uses a type c cord and the radio has a USB port/cord connector and this stereo is compatible with all the first series of iPhones it says up to 5s or something like that so yeah I fill cheated since it was bought in October 2020 I feel like I need another stereo with more capabilities. Also the screen is a little difficult to see at times.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far- so good. Really nice unit with capability to do so much. I plan on adding on the Maestro feature this spring, along with cameras. That’s what I like about it....if you can’t afford to do everything at once, you can add features 1 by 1. I’ve never been a pioneer fan, I usually like Kenwood. But, after seeing a review on the Money Pit feature on Donut media’s Facebook page- pitting pioneer against the exact Kenwood model I was contemplating, it won me over. Granted....the unit they reviewed was a 1500 NEX- if I went with a more expensive model it should be just as good, if not better. The call quality on both ends are great. After seeing mine - I have friends and family looking to upgrade.
