If you are looking for the best key action feel and the best sounding for a digital piano and don't care for other frills then Roland FP-10 is definitely the number one choice at this price range. I have compared this to pretty much all other models of this range (Yamaha P125, Korg B2, Casio PXS1000, etc) so I know it. However, it's a shame that Roland didn't lubricate the key actions properly out of the factory. The factory grease is thin and just isn't enough. Because of that the keys will start developing noise after few days of playing. I was able to fix this myself by applying thicker silicon grease to every key. Overall, it is a great entry level digital piano, the key noise can be fixed.

It seems to be a good entry level piano, the action feels the same as an acoustic one which is the most important factor I believe and the Bluetooth connection makes it easier to practice. The sound, though, could be more powerful especially when using headphone! The clicking noise of some keys started shortly after the purchase, Roland claimed it is normal and I might need to take it to their technician to apply more grease if it continues! That’s not what I would want from a brand new instrument! Finally, it would have a been a good touch if they could include some sort of cover for the piano to avoid collecting dust when not used, especially that there is no lid when you install the stand (to be purchased separately)

This piano will develop clicking keys issues and Roland will help you with some lube(or free headphones) to fix the issue until the warranty expires. This is a "By Design feature". This piano was recommended by two piano teachers. I looked at a lot of online reviews and decided to go with Roland and we are very happy. The keys feel like an acoustic piano and the sound is excellent.

I simply fell in love with the piano. After so many researches, I bought this and I'm very happy with FP 10. It has almost all the features of FP 30 if we use the Piano Partner 2 app. The ivory feel of the keys is super cool. Considering its price, its a great buy.

It's been a year and a half since I got the FP10. I have a lot to say about this piano. There are a lot of things I don't like but what I like is just what I need as a pianist. There is only the piano sound, the pads and the harpsichord that are usable for me. But it's just what I need, I don't need more. When you buy an 88 note it is generally for the piano, the sound, the key, the weight. That's what's most important. Also, I find it inconvenient to always use the Roland application for split, layer and other sounds. I think it is for this and for the quality of the other sounds that it is considered low-end in the Roland series. But when I play in an orchestra, I need a good piano, good touch, and another keyboard which completes it and which does everything else (other sound, split, layer, preset saving...). The piano sound always stays the same, I never change the sound. What I like is that Roland did not neglect what a pianist needs as a piano: The quality of the balanced key, the piano sound, the possibility of editing the piano sound for any amplification situations (notes can be edited individually, volume, timbre or character, velocity, etc.) in short everything a professional needs as a piano for all situations. To be satisfied with piano sounds, we must correctly choose the right sound according to each situation. Example: If we use an amp to amplify the sounds, we need less depth velocity than when we use the piano speakers. The fp10's four piano sounds are for just these situations. We must choose the right sound and adjust the velocity according to these situations. I used it as a soloist, in bands or to accompany singers, and it always gave me satisfaction. And for transport, it's the lightest of the best digital pianos. Before buying it I tried all kinds of pianos from a major music store, both acoustic grand pianos and digital ones. For me, the Roland pha4 key is the best of all because it offers a very good response when I play pieces that require more technique, like when I play bass notes in ragtime pieces, or Chopin pieces. I need a good key bounce and that's what I get with the fp10. I have the impression that my fingers are placed on their own, there is no resistance to make rapid passages. Which gives me great satisfaction and I can spend hours playing and enjoying. The 6 watt speakers have better bass presence than the 8 watt Casio. Probably due to the design of the piano which makes a better reasoning box. What I also really like is that it is buetooth midi. Which gives me the possibility of easily connecting it without midi wires to my iPhone and using it as a sound module. This possibility opens up a world of new sounds for me because you can find a lot of them on the internet, some good and some not so good, but I can also do them in my own way, sample any sounds (nord piano, vst...) and assemble the wavs that I recorded, in a software called polyphone, to make a file that I transfer to the application of my iphone (bs16i), which I connect via Bluetooth midi to my fp10. Splits, layers etc... are easily done with this software (polyphone) Also what I find convenient is that under this piano, there is a slot to insert the score holder. This makes it easy to transport, in the case, with the piano. As for the sustain pedal, I like the Yamaha better because it is a little wider and lower. I find that it is more stable and more efficient than the Roland. For me, the fp10 is the best buy, for the best options and versatility.

I use this product only as a MIDI controller for realistic piano, thus I am very happy with its action and its lack of bells and whistles. Nevertheless, its Bluetooth connection at least on my device clearly does not work—I tried it on multiple Apple devices and PC's and it simply was not detectable via Bluetooth by any of my devices (and yes, I know its function combinations that turn Bluetooth on and off). Also, the action is pretty heavy in that you won't get MIDI velocity signals higher than 80 or so, no matter how hard you bang on the keys. Therefore, you would need to adjust the velocity curve on your piano software drastically in order to get a good sound out of it (I use the preset "slow keyboard" (not even the "moderately slow" one!) to get a decent response out of this keyboard on Pianoteq). Also trills and tremolos will be very sluggish and really the hardest thing to perform by this keyboard (though still doable after fiddling around with software settings and also some thorough warm-up practise to sort of "work in" the action mentally for yourself and get a good control ultimately). Overall, as a controller this keyboard will definitely remain my main playing instrument in this price range and in the long run and I am very happy with it. Over all great price for what you’re getting. Great piano feel. But the thing that bothered me the most was the sound at around C4. The high and low notes sounded great Just like a real piano. But around C4 really wasn’t happy with the sound. Didn’t sound like a piano to me. There are a few really good Piano programs that you could use with this digital piano but they only work on a computer. Pianoteq is one of the good programs but it is only offered for computer. No support for iPads or iPhones. Roland has an app called Piano partner 2 which lets you tweak the sound and a bunch of other option but it’s very limited. Also it froze on me several times. I think if the Piano programs were offered to work with an iPad or iPhone I would have kept this digital piano. Maybe if iPad or iPhone support will be offered I will buy this product again.

The feel of the keys is the best as far as electronic pianos go. Sound in headphones is really nice, sound on speakers is not as nice. It is sleek and beautiful, the minimal-button design is also nice.
