Bought this product a few years ago and finally have the time to work on my home movie projects/video transfers etc. the product is supposed to work with windows 10 it absolutely doesn't, When making the correct inputs/connections propely etc no matter what it shows as video no signal, trouble shooting for hours and trying a different possible solutions to come up with the same result no video signal, this is a well known issue and the company that makes this software cant even solve the problem the best they said was wait for a update(for a issue thats well over several years old)don't waste your money .Easy to use Not By Along stretch.

I purchased this a week ago and I got home and examined the box, it boasted Windows EIGHT compatible. That got me worried. Then I discovered that instead of a website and a key to download the software, there was an installation CD in the box. My new laptop doesn't have a CD drive. With great help from Roxio/Corel who provided a link to a website, I downloaded the software and was up and running. It worked great THE FIRST DAY. Day two, I had lost the video signal so while I could record, I could not see what I was recording. I Googled enough to realize this is a very very common problem and there appears to be no solution. This is an out-dated product that does not work.

I reviewed with the Best Buy staff who did not recommend it fir windows 10 based on reviews online . I bought it anyway with the risk of no warranty . I tried installing it 3 times but kept getting critical error about registry key not updated said repair from add and remove programs but it did not show there . I figured out the issue was my antivirus was stripping files so temporarily disable it . The the install worked . Product is easy to use and fast but the mp4 file size is large fir each video . It is worth the price . The support team at Roxio were slow responding but gave me that fix a few weeks later

I just bought it, and so far have had no issues converting a half dozen pld camcorder (mini dv format) tapes to digital files. Sorry to read that prople have had issues with Windows 10 compatibility, but mine has worked seamlessly so far. For 70 bucks Cdn it's easily been worth it, and I like that the software dowload from the website didn't require a product key (you have to have the device plugged in before downloading, not sure if it means I can't use it again on a different machine later). Recommend this for anyone looking to convert old camcorder videos...just need a working camcorder!

Replying to Craig here: I had the same issue with Windows 10 initially. You have to search for the DirectX runtime and install the optional components. That's what helped me get through the installer error It's a shame Windows doesn't come preloaded with it.

I have wasted 10+ hours over the past 3 days trying to make this product work on multiple computers. Roxio Tech Support has shown a willingness to assist, but everything they've told me try I have already tried, but I tried it all again just to follow their lead. If I could give the product zero stars I would. Roxio needs to delist this product as it clearly does not work as intended. I'll be returning the product tomorrow for a refund as I'm not wasting anymore of my time trying to fix a buggy, not functioning product.

I was trying for years to convert my precious old VHS (PAL/NTSC) to digital and was going to buy a much more expensive device or take them to Costco to convert them for a $30/tape but then i saw this tool and thought I would give it a try. It did a great job and I was able to convert all my recordings to computer files.. easy to use, windows 10 compatible .. so far, I had no issues and it saved me tons of money. The quality of recordings are not the greatest but this could be because of the quality of the source tapes. I recommended it to a friend and he got one too.

Purchased this product today and installed on a laptop running Windows 10. It is definitely not easy to use when the software will not pick up any video input. I tried all three of the USB ports, no difference. The software will not check for updates and says I'm not connected to the internet even though the tab for technical support takes me to the Corel website. I have verified that the cables being used are good. I can get a video input through another Corel software (MultiCam Capture 2.0 lite) with a work around using other video capture devices. The MultiCam software recognizes the Roxio Video Capture device but will not display any video signal from the source. Tried installing DirectX and manually installing the update but the update doesn't recognize the software installed. You should not have to look for support on a new product.

BEWARE: This software will waste hours of your life and still not work. This software works then no video half way through a tape. I've been waiting for a week for support to solve this all I get is emails to links which I've already been to. The last link was to the software download, obviously I've downloaded the software! Stay away from this software, it's a waste of time and money and the support is lacking!

Bought this to transfer old VHS and Records to my computer. The first time I used it worked just fine. Easy enough to use. Came back the next day and the computer wouldn't even recognize the program and the USB that came with it to transfer stopped . I tried uninstall and reinstall. Nothing. Also found that the capture USB became very warm to the touch. This is a terrible product. No wonder it was on sale
