Obverse Featuring King Charles III

On the obverse, the 2026 edition displays the Royal Canadian Mint’s official portrait of King Charles III, introduced in 2024. Designed by Steven Rosati, the left-profile effigy presents a modern and dignified representation of the monarch, shown without a crown.

Iconic Maple Leaf Design and Security

The reverse features Walter Ott’s classic sugar maple leaf design, originally introduced in 1979 for the Gold Maple Leaf. This deeply Canadian symbol remains unchanged across the Mint’s bullion lineup. Each coin also includes the RCM’s laser-engraved security privy mark, part of its advanced anti-counterfeiting DNA technology.
