The Synology DVA3221 is a professional-grade 4-bay diskless network video recorder designed for organizations that want private, subscription-free surveillance with powerful built-in analytics. Running Synology Surveillance Station on DSM, it provides centralized recording, live monitoring, playback, management, and analysis while storing recordings locally on the unit for greater control over security footage. It supports more than 8,300 camera models with ONVIF compatibility, includes 8 camera licences out of the box, and scales up to 32 IP camera channels depending on resolution and codec.

What sets the DVA3221 apart is its integrated deep learning video analytics engine, which helps convert surveillance video into real-time security insight and operational intelligence. AI capabilities include facial recognition, people and vehicle detection, people counting, vehicle counting, intrusion detection, congestion alerts, and licence plate recognition. It supports up to 12 simultaneous analytics tasks for several modes, up to 6 tasks for facial recognition or licence plate recognition workflows, and a face database of up to 10,000 profiles. Synology also states facial recognition accuracy of up to 97.04% and licence plate recognition for vehicles moving up to 40 km/h.

The DVA3221 is also built for flexible deployment and easier administration. Remote access is available through web browsers, desktop clients, and mobile apps, while advanced surveillance features include automation and notifications, centralized monitoring through CMS, remote updates, recording failover, archive backup, and dual recording to a secondary server or C2 Surveillance.
