What customers are saying

The product has mixed reviews, with some customers appreciating its features like the camera, fingerprint unlock, and battery life, finding it easy to use and smooth in performance. However, many have experienced issues with the product's durability and reliability, such as it being prone to screen cracks or damage, freezing, lagging, and having memory and connectivity problems. While the product works well for some, the negative experiences with its performance and longevity appear to be common enough to be a concern for potential customers.

    Absolutely Amazing Phone!

    Reviewed by - January 19, 2020

I got this phone for Christmas under a month ago and its absolutely amazing! The phone has a huge screen, great picture quality, and amazing picture quality. I absolutely love the wide picture angle it's super cool. Thus phone also does a great job at ha sling YouTube, Netflix, games etc. This phone can handle all of those games that require a good phone so the phone doesn't blow up I.e it handles call of duty mobile very very well and pubg. I highly recommend this phone to everyone looking for a new phone. The battery also lasts 24-36 hours even after a little under a month and its takes around an hour and a half to go from 0% to 100%

    Downgrade from A5

    Reviewed by - August 1, 2019

Was told at the store how much better than the A5 I had this phone is. With the speaker at the bottom (and I'm assuming the mic as well from my husband complaining when I try to talk to him) sound quality has suffered. It is very finicky with the charge cords despite the type C end, although this is the only phone I've ever seen where you have to find the 'right' way to plug it in. When on the phone, the screen randomly turns on which has resulted in putting people on hold, muting, phoning other people while trying to have my conversation etc. It does take beautiful pictures though

My version doesn't have NFC, d'oh!

    Reviewed by - August 4, 2019

Amazing phone. The notched & curved screen at this price range is unbelievable. Battery life and speed is amazing. Fingerprint reader is a MUST today for security! But I ended up with a version that does NOT have NFC, so I can't use Google Pay or recharge my PRESTO card (strange for a new phone in 2019 not to have NFC, when my Nexus 5 from over 5 years ago already had it). I bought from a store that had an ad on Kijiji Toronto but seems my version was aimed at the "Panama" market. It's annoying that both phones are called "Samsung A20", and one will have NFC and the other will not. Samsung shouldn't reuse names for phones with different features. Either way, I saved $130 after tax so I can't complain, I can live without NFC.

Too slippery and easy to break screen.

    Reviewed by - September 26, 2020

This phone is ridiculously slippery. It will slid off almost any surface that it ,s placed on. It’s almost like they want the screen to crack so you have to give them more money to buy a new one. My last Samsung phone lasted me for 5 years without any damage and I rarely dropped it. It never slid off a counter or other surface. Had this one a couple of weeks and it slides off surfaces daily. My advice is to buy a sturdy phone case/ screen protector at the same time as you buy the phone. We live in a smaller city and could not find a sturdy case for this phone. Appears to be a good selection online though. My friend also had the same slippery problem with this phone. She dropped and cracked the screen twice and gave up on it after that.

    Great Basic Phone

    Reviewed by - April 26, 2022

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Ever since my wife gave me my first A5 as a handmedown, I've been a big fan of Samsung. A friend of mine recently gifted me his A20 and what an upgrade! It's still on the basic side of what you need for a phone, as in it's not loaded with performance if you're trying to run large scale games, but for a work phone, or something to get you by, this is a great choice. The camera isn't top notch but again, it gets you by. If you want better, pay up for the S family but for someone like myself, the A family is a perfect fit

A MUST BUY FOR THE PRICE!!!

    Reviewed by - February 19, 2020

I got this phone last week and i am so glad i did, the battery lasts so long and upgrading from an S5 neo this phone runs like butter. 3 gigs of ram is perfect 32 gigs of storage is not as good but i will take it. It can hold up to 512 gigs on an SD card with the micro sd card slot, JUST AMAZING!! It takes amazing photos and it is super quick. Face ID makes it much easier to unlock, so does touch ID. The plastic back is a definite downside of this phone, it feels cheaper but if you get a case it feels much better.

    Samsung Only

    Reviewed by - December 11, 2021

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this around two months ago and I'm really glad I did. It's great quality phone even though the picture quality could be better. I normally only choose Androids and from now on we'll carry on with Samsung purchases for the future. I like that this phone is long lasting and durable and that's something that I have to replace every year every two years I can even keep it for longer. I loved it so much that even my family member purchase the same phone.

    No LED notifications

    Reviewed by - June 28, 2019

I grabbed this phone as an upgrade to my old S5 Neo. The phone itself is pretty good with a decent camera and long battery life. What I don't like is that there are no LED notifications for messages, texts, charging etc. You have no idea what is going on until you wake up the phone. It's a real disappointment and I am on the verge of returning the phone. There are some third-party apps to remedy this issue with the S phones, but none work with the A20.
