What customers are saying

The high-capacity external hard drive offers excellent value and reliability. Key features include massive 14TB storage, durable performance, and easy plug-and-play setup. While transfer speeds are slightly slower than SSDs, the drive meets the needs of most users for backups, media storage, and game libraries. Some customers note the drive can run hot under constant heavy use, but this does not appear to be a widespread issue. Overall, the drive provides tremendous storage capacity and quality at a competitive price point.

Time to Add More Storage - Can't Beat the Cost/Tb

    Reviewed by - April 29, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] WD - easystore 14TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive - Black was a must buy due to the cost per terabyte. When the price recently dropped (thanks Best Buy) my son called me and gave me the good news. He bought one and suggested that I do, too. I immediately ordered the drive and Best Buy delivered it very quickly. When it arrived, installation was easy; I downloaded the WD tools and ran the tests. They are shown in the photos below.

    WD Ext 14TB HDD

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - December 12, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit was easy to set up. The capacity of it is a 14 TB external hard drive. I split the drive in half so that I could use the space for movies and pictures. It seems to have a low center of gravity so it stands up easy. The connections with simple and durable. The software made the connection to the computer convenient. I've had the unit on for two days straight and it doesn't seem to even get hot.

    Excellent external hard drive

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - December 11, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am quite satisfied with WD-easystore 14TB USB 3.0 hard Drive. It's a little noise while using with a reasonable copy speed which satisfied me too, sometimes the copy speed reach 200MB/s. I eject the hard drive when not use but keep the power plugged in, this way keeps the hard drive very quite with no noise at all. It's keeping cool so I believe it can last long.

Easy use out of the box

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - March 31, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Drive connected fine to my PC and comes pre-formatted NTFS. I still ran a clean on it in diskpart and then formatted myself. It is 7200RPM. Speeds seem really good, crystal disk is showing 200MB/s on large files. Transfer speeds vary for me between 60MB/s to 101MB/s from another 7200rpm HDD connected over SATA. Wish it had a power cord instead of the little adapter it comes with, just easier to plugin and wouldn't need a socket on the end. The software it comes with wouldn't install, stopped at 18%. idk if it's any good or what it does. On sale I think this was a great deal.

Well packaged and value for money.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - December 26, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Value for money! They packaged the whole thing really nicely and it fit in the box exactly and didn't move around. At sales prices for 189.99 each, it is $13.57/TB, the lowest price at the moment.

    14 TB External Drive

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - March 31, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found the external drive easy to set up however it didn’t come with a cable to attach to my computer, luckily I had one laying around but it’s a unusual cable to have. See picture of cable needed, the other end I’m using is USB, however I believe if you have one with the lightning end instead of USB it may be faster data transfer rates. You may want to look into which cable type is the fastest to use with it before hand and make sure you have it available as a port on your computer. The drive works fine as storage and backup and comes with some recovery software. Unfortunately I had just purchased some recovery software the day before.

Huge capacity, how will I ever fill it?

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - December 17, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As stated, this external drive has so much storage. Over triple what I've had in the past. I'm looking for reccomendations on what to store in it. Functionally, the device is perfect. Read/write speeds around 200mb/s, which could be better. I bought this device for $182 after a 15% hard drive trade in discount. Makes this an incredibly good deal! Please don't purchase it for more than $250, this thing goes on sale year-round. Also note that this external drive is shuckable- this means you can take it out of its shell and install it in a 3.5" drive bay, provided you tape off some very specific pins. Follow the guide on r/datahoarder for specific details!

Drive noisy, clicks while idle, & is 12 TeraBytes

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - October 26, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very NOISY hard drive. I record studio samples so this drive is useless. I would return but I ahve already backedup my samples so I will forgive this. Terrible. Also It is only a 12 TeraByte Drive. They obviously do not know the MicroSoft Standards. 12TB. I bought my Sandisk and Western Digital and other models which are the TERABYTES they advertise in detection. I would say I'd return it but I have a lot of samples already stored. I throw this noisy drive into the closet in case I ever need my samples later on down the road.
