Beautiful and Functional
- March 6, 2025[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered this refrigerator in stainless steel finish two months ago. It was delivered last week after the dealer was waiting to receive from the manufacturer. Well worth the wait. I love it! It’s beautiful and it’s easy to see everything in the refrigerator and freezer. I did not want a refrigerator with a drink dispenser or ice maker. I love the sleek design and clean front. I have a galley style kitchen, so the smaller doors of the side by side influenced my decision. I also selected Whirlpool for the quality and ability to get service and repair if needed. I highly recommend this refrigerator.

Refrigerator
- January 15, 2023[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The right size work’s excellent the soluble doors are better in size for the design of our kitchen. Some wouldn’t work like the one with draws. Regular price was good too.

WHIRLPOOL CANNOT BE REACHED - NO SUPPPORT
- October 29, 2025YOU CAN NEVER REACH THE COMPANY; I WOULD STEER CLEAR OF BUYING ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS. OUR FRIG HAS DAMAGES THAT ARE CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. THE FRIG IS WORKING BUT I HAVE TRIED TO REPORT PICTURES TO THEM SO THEY ARE AWARE OF IT; THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE AND THEIR CHAT DOES NOT RESPOND. I NEED A REPLACED FREEZER DOOR BIN THAT WAS BROKEN AND WHITE TOUCH UP PAINT FOR CABINET SCRATCHES. I GAVE THEM A 2ND CHANCE WITH THIS FRIG AS I HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING WITH A FRONT LOAD WASHER. IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND I COULD NOT REACH WHIRLPOOL FOR A WARRANTY CLAIM. I WILL REPORT THEM TO MY STATE'S CONSUMER AFFAIRS AS THIS IS NOT RIGHT!!!!

Poor cooling and door finish
- April 13, 2023[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator got delivered over a week ago and has not cooled below 44 degrees Fahrenheit since then. The freezer has done better, but still has not maintained 0 degrees. The finish of the doors is poor with scratches showing up as soon as it was unboxed, and worse when installed with door not even aligning properly closed. I have since requested a return of the product and am very disappointed in the quality of appliances today.

Plenty of Room
- January 13, 2022[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this refrigerator for about three weeks, received it 12/23/2021. It is working well so far. My Husband has already commented on how hard the ice cream is frozen. This refrigerator is a replacement for our Kenmoore (Amana) that we bought in 1999. My hope is that this one will last as long as that one did. I purposely bought this model because it has no ice maker or water in the door hoping to avoid any reason for things to go wrong. It has plenty of room in both the refrigerator and freezer. So much so that I wish they would have added a small cold cuts/cheese drawer like my previous frig had. My only dislike so far is that its shelves have limited adjust-ability. The shelves, there are three of them, slide into molded slots in the sides of the frig with only one extra slot. The refrigerator would be way more functional if they had installed the hook type shelves with multiple racks in the back allowing for more flexibility.

Expected it to be better
- July 11, 2022[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a new fridge and decided on this side by side since every person I have evert know with the icemaker on the door has had problems. There were several things that disappointed me with this box. The main one is that there are no hinge covers and actually 2 holes where the insulation was put in the box and they left this where you see insulation. This is not hygenic for cleaning. Next the grill in the front cannot be taken off unless both of the doors are open which is inconvenient for cleaning. Third, cardboard is used on the back and underneath which could easily get wet and damaged if there was a problem. I really liked the simplicity of the shelving which is easy to clean and the layout is good. However, I am having trouble with the box cooling. At first I thought I may have it too close to the wall so I pulled it out a full 5 inches but even at the highest setting, it is only registering around 40 degrees and I have food that is spoiling easily. For what I paid for this box, i expected better overall. I have scheduled a service call and am hoping that whirlpool stands behind this product since I have had it only about 8 months.

Great value as a backup fridge!
- May 16, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly, find and read the review “ An Engineer Reviews His New Fridge”. Second - buy a $20 digital wireless fridge thermometer on Amazon. The refrigerator is exactly what I expected from under $1k price and 25 cu.f. - it made cheaply but has great space. Ideal for a backup fridge for basement or garage. Delivery guys didn’t remove the doors to get it through basement doors but instead just removed the bottom grill and opened fridge doors one by one as the went through the 30” wide door - it worked! The fridge is a bit loud due to the fan (see pictures below), compressor noise is fine. Look at the pictures with removed back cover - they might explain some load noises as water is evaporated using a heating element similar to old electric kettles ;-). Overall, it’s simple and I hope will be reliable. Compressor- Embraco EM3Y60HLP with 5 years warranty. The thermostat is a bit of a pain - that’s why I recommend to use a digital thermometer. Overall - very happy, my first Kenmore 29 cu f fridge died while we were on vacation and the meat got rotten so bad that I had to throw the fridge out due to smell. The LG compressors used in Kenmore have defect, now I’m on the second Kenmore fridge (still the best usability) and it can die in four years as well. But at least now I don’t have to worry about all the food that would be lost if it dies, so kind of an insurance policy ;-)

Nice Refrigerator - BUT....
- July 25, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased a suite of Whirlpool appliances from Best Buy. Did research on Whirlpool refrigerators and weighed the pros and cons of the reviews on this one - it is one of few without the water/ice maker feature - which I don't need or use. Had it delivered on Friday, July 23, 2021. The majority of the reviews say ‘loud/noisey’ or ‘quiet.’ 50/50 chance of one or the other. This is a nice refrigerator BUT…. 1. Delivery Personnel – they are just that, delivery personnel not technicians. The doors were unlevel and they were able to adjust them to “almost” level with each other. Reading the owner’s manual there is a “door alignment tool” that comes with the unit. This tool assists with the “gap alignment” between the doors. Mine didn’t come with the tool and the delivery personnel said they couldn’t do anymore. I contacted Whirlpool. They would have to send out a technician to make the adjustments. So, the gap and door leveling can be fixed. 2. Noise level – yes it is ‘LOUD.’ Upon initial start-up it is popping, humming, whirling so loud I thought the thing was going to explode. Once it settled in to normal operation it is LOUD. It sounds like a helicopter flying over in the distance. I want to keep looking out the window to see what is going on – another car chase? Sitting across from it at my island working from home it left me with a headache. Quiet – yes. When not running. Contacted Whirlpool, the representative even said ‘yes this unit runs loud.’ But this loud? The noise is that of a more commercial refrigerator. Best used as a secondary refrigerator in the garage so you don’t hear the nose. (Ha ha moment – my powder room is directly behind the refrigerator and I can hear it running through the wall!) (website wouldn't allow me to upload video so you can hear the noise level) 3. Wheels – Wheels are plastic and do not have a locking mechanism. I tried to pull the door open and upon doing so the entire refrigerator rolled forward with it. The delivery personnel told me that when the refrigerator is full it will stay in place from the load when you pull the door open. (What?). I am only one person and will never have it full to capacity. Also, the plastic wheels rolled across my wood floor and left gouges. [See pictures.] (Note – I know my floors need to be refinished – but gouges?) 4. Leveling – how do you level it? One of the plastic wheels is ‘up inside’ the unit and cannot be retrieved down. So, the refrigerator leans backward. 5. Stainless Steel not fingerprint resistant – Note. It is NOT advertised as fingerprint resistant. The only thing that is fingerprint resistant are the handles. Reading the owner’s manual (and conversation with Whirlpool), I purchased a recommended Whirlpool product to clean the fingerprints off the doors and it takes a bit of effort to get it clean – but not great. Keep in mind there is a ‘protective coating’ on the stainless steel and you can’t even use a paper towel or it will scratch. No, mild soap and water really don’t do the trick either as the manual says. Whirlpool – this is a nice refrigerator. Again, one of the few without the water/ice maker feature. Same size as and look as my 20 yr old Kenmore (that I no longer have). You have a product that would probably fly off the shelves if 1) improve the sound quality – muffle the motor noise; 2) make the door panels and handles fingerprint resistant; 3) wheels need to be rubber and with a locking/leveling mechanism. I’d buy it if those improvements were made. Unfortunately, this one is going back.

The door does not shut properly!
- January 24, 2023There is a substantial gap between the gasket and the refrigerator that runs along the whole vertical side of the refrigerator door. I can feel the cool air escaping through the gap. I also don't feel that feeling of slight vacuum seal when opening the door because the door doesn't fully close. The freezer side works great with tight seal and that feeling of suction is fully present. I'm keeping the gap closed with masking tape in hopes that the door will "settle in" but I am not feeling good at the moment. Is it normal for brand new refrigerator to have gap between the gasket and the main body? This can't be normal right? Is there anything that can be done. Send help!

Missing key features
- January 21, 2025Owned 1 month so far. Nice cold fridge. Keeps food fresh longer than my old fridge, but it's missing some key features. Namely: * The glass shelves don't go all the way to the back, so things fall down the back occasionally. * It's on rollers and not feet/legs, so it rolls out whenever I open the door. We have an unsightly doorstop holding it in place. * Doesn't come with a door alarm! Seriously? I had to order after-market door alarms that are a nuisance, and don't tell you when the door is open; they tell you when the temperature rises outside a set range. So the fridge may be open for a good 20 minutes before the alarm is triggered. (Unless I set a tighter range--but then I was getting a lot of false positives). I thought I was buying a higher-end fridge at this price point, but apparently not. I'm disappointed in this purchase.
