Overall good, inferior build quality
- September 30, 2025[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Functionally, it works great! The freezer door is a big improvement over the previous refrigerator's bottom freezer, which required getting on my hands and knees to see inside. However, the build quality is disappointing, with foam insulation left untrimmed or exposed in several areas. Temperature adjustments are limited—you can only select a number on the dial. Even the old refrigerator, though analog, allowed finer adjustments by moving the dial between numbers.

Good Basic Refrigerator
- August 26, 2018[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you want a frig without fancy features that could cause the frig not to work, this is it. Just plug it in and set the temp to use. But there are quality control issues (see photos), freezer door corners have air gaps (the metal edges did not meet correctly), section of edge of frig door had no paint; design issues (see photo), bottom drawers have not retaining clip such that the whole drawer can slide all the way out of the frig, the frig door has no stops to keep it from swinging all the way out unit it is parallel to the frig opening. I had a Amana made by Maytag own by Whirlpool which did not have the same quality and design issues.

So glad I got this
- November 15, 2019[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did a lot of online searches for best refrigerator and came up with this Whirlpool 22cf bottom freezer. So glad I went with this one. I'd never had a bottom freezer before but I think it's actually better than top freezer. No more stooping down to see what's 'lost' in the back of the bottom shelf. Everything is at eye level and this thing keeps things super cold so i think my food will stay fresher longer. makes ice really fast too. LED lights inside top/bottom make everything very visible so nothing getting lost in there anymore. I highly recommend this one. Looks great in my kitchen too. Upgrade from my 12 year old frigidaire top freezer.

More Pros than Cons
- April 9, 2022[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this refrigerator 6 weeks ago and I like it very much. The Pros: I like the way the stainless steel looks, although it does show fingerprints; not too bad since there are only 2 adults living in our condo. But this may be a consideration if you have small children. Because it is top cool and bottom freezer, I have a much larger cool space at the top which is what I use most. It is convenient that the most used part of the refrigerator is at the top. The door shelf is large and holds all of our condiments and more with space to spare. The shelves are moveable so I could customize the space for our needs. The light is very bright and I am able to see all parts of the refrigerator. I have had side-by-side refrigerator/freezers for years so I needed to adjust to the freezer on the bottom. Once I organized it I found I liked it a great deal. The ice maker works great. (Remember to throw away the first 3-4 full ice bins before consuming). Since we live in a small space, I was looking for a refrigerator/freezer with maximum sq ft that fit our condo. This product does just that. The Con: The vegetable bins (2) are very small. I sometimes use the door shelf to store fresh items when we first do the grocery shopping; not a deal breaker for us. If there are more people in your family, you will probably need to shop for fresh items a few times a week. I am happy with our purchase and can recommend it.

Kitchen upgrade
- January 18, 2026[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our fridge we have had for almost 30 years, died right after Christmas. We had always wanted a bottom freezer style. We ended up removing a cabinet above the fridge to make the size we wanted work. We love how bright it is inside and it is so easy to access the things we often need. This unit came with an ice maker, we have never had an ice maker, so we hooked it into our RO water line. It is sooo nice to have ice all the time, the bottom freezer works well as we are not in and out of it that often. Time will tell on the reliability, but we did go ahead and buy a service plan as I know new appliances are reliable as they used to be.

Great size. Versatile shelving.
- October 18, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A little early to rate this. Ask me 6 months from now. A year even. But so far we're happy with the product. Great size. Versatile shelving. Like how the shelves are completely changeable. Our previous fridge had the same capability, but less movable shelves. The noises this makes takes a little getting use to. Hopefully these noises are normal. Everything is cold or frozen as they should be. Nice looking fridge. Not the color we wanted, but because of the lack of product available (because of covid-19) and not wishing to wait months for the color/finish we wanted, we picked the stainless steel.

Inside Fine, outside not so much!
- August 5, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this fridge as it scored well in consumer reports. However, when unwrapped and put in its place I noticed brown spots all along the sides of the refrigerator and along the handle of the freezer. This is unacceptable for 1, it is brand new, and 2 it is stainless steel. Would love to know what it is and if anyone else experienced it. Not touching it as I have no idea what it is .

- July 24, 2024[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hey, had my refrigerator just a little over a month and I dearly love it. It’s so nice and bright when you open it up with the lighting I love the adjustable shelving and I love the amount of space I have in the door for storage. It is just great.

Mixed reviews, but it's cold
- July 18, 2025[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator does what it is supposed to do: it keeps our food cold. But I expected it to be at least as good as our last one, and it isn't. It is a few more cubic feet (22), which I am happy about. Unfortunately, all refrigerators are taller than those from 8 years ago. We had to cut the bottom off our upper cabinet to get it in. The vegetable & fruit drawers are a rather flimsy plastic, but do have moisture control vents. The door doesn't automatically shut or have an alarm when it isn't shut, so you might turn around and it's standing open. And weirdly, when you close it, you can't open it again for 30 seconds or more, which is way annoying. It suctions shuts like freezers do. The ice maker works great, but the shut-off is a wire that hangs down like the one my mom had 50-some years ago. Lastly, we love having the bottom freezer, but didn't expect the basket in it to be wire, where spilled food can go right through. I did see where a woman put meat wrap paper under it to catch stuff - good to know. We were able to get it in white, which is why we have this particular one, plus we were in a pinch. We hope it lasts more than 8 years.
