[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fan on this will make a very noticeable improvement on laptop cooling. Unfortunately the bottom of the pad has flimsy plastic spars that can bend under the weight of a 17 inch gaming laptop if it is on your lap. This can cause the fan to rub against them making a horrible noise. Mine bent so badly that at one point the fan blade got caught on the one of the spars. I had to break off the opposite fan blades to keep the fan counter-weighted properly. If you plan on using this for tabletop only then it is a great deal for less than 20 dollars but if your laptop is heavy and you plan on putting it on your lap you would definitely want something sturdier.

I have been looking for something to use as a prop when I move my laptop to my bed so the intake fans do not suck up lint or fuzz. I have graduated from a shoebox lid, to this cooling fan, haha. I actually had a $10 off coupon, so I got this item for $6-$7. Not a bad buy at all!! The 2 legs in the back help with the height increase so there is less pressure on your wrists. I recommend using them if your set up is on a desk. Just be careful if you are sliding your laptop backwards while on top the cooling fan, the legs will snap back down and your laptop will fall backwards if you are not ready for it. Either lift your laptop & cooling fan up together as one unit to move it, or put your fingers behind the legs if you are sliding it back, that way they do not close on you. Tons of wide vents on the bottom for easy dispersal of heat from all 4 sides, which is a plus! Now that the heat is being dispersed more evenly, I actually get a little warmer now since it kind of blows at me, however it is very subtle. It is not like standing in front of a space heater or anything. Stability and construction are decent. The plastic base seems a little less than stellar, feel wise, but as long as you do not accidentally drop it on a hard surface, I think it should be fine. This fan is amazingly quite, despite some of the reviews that say its loud. I have watched a few DVDs already with the fan plugged in, and a I can not hear it at all!! Even when my laptop lid is closed and "sleeping/hibernating", the fan is still quiet. Yes it will still run as long as your computer is on/hibernating. Unplug it if you do not want it to run while you are not on your computer. The only thing is most of the heat on my laptop comes out of a left side vent, and since the blade in the cooling fan is on the bottom in the center, it does not really get a lot of the heat from that vent. No fault of the product, just the design of my laptop. Though I have noticed a slight decrease in temperature from that vent, so that is always a plus. All in all, good product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lemme start by saying, I LOVE the kickstand and the extra usb port. Since this unit requires to be connected to your laptop to work, of course it takes up one of your laptop's USB ports. But the good things is the USB cord that connects to the laptop has an extra usb port on the back of it so it seems like it didn't occupy any of your laptop's usb port at all! How GENIUS! This is very helpful especially for macbook users which only comes with 2 USB ports and may need more. The fan does get kind of loud depending on the surface it's on. It doesn't bother me too much, unless I'm watching something on my laptop. Other than that, I expect some kind of noise since it's a fan. Overall, it does what it's supposed to do. The weight is perfect, looks sleek and definitely cools off my laptop pretty quick. Definitely a great buy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I switched to this cooling pad after using the Cooler Master U3 for my gaming laptop. I found the U3 effective, but cumbersome to move and impossible to pack away in my laptop case. The X-Slim is much more portable and tucks neatly into the case. I was initially weary about investing in a pad with only one central fan, as my laptop tends to have hot spots around the edges, but the X-Slim's fan is so large it reaches all the major trouble zones. The pad is a little smaller than I anticipated, so my 17" laptop hangs over the edges a bit. It doesn't effect stability, however. The fan is also a louder than the three fans of the U3, but it is a small price to pay for effective cooling. This pad keeps my computer cool even while running games at their highest settings. For the price, it really is one of the best pads on the market.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took a chance on this laptop cooling pad - without seeing it in the stores or anything and I'm glad I did. It's definitely met my needs. I wanted something quiet and portable and this is definitely both. While I am not sure "X-Slim" is truly appropriate, it's not THAT slim, but it is definitely not bulky. I enjoy that the USB plug provides an additional USB port for my mouse so I am not stuck a port down when I have the cooling pad on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am surprised by how well this laptop cooling pad works. It has one giant fan in the center and runs quiet and smooth with my laptop. I have a larger laptop that is just a hair over 17" and the entire laptop fits on this pad. I only use my laptop for 2-3 hours at a time, and this seems to do the trick. If you are looking for an affordable cooling pad for light usage, I would recommend this.

I like the fact that it is slim and light that it feels like it's part of the laptop and it REALLY keeps the bottom cool. I bought it because the affordable price was very attractive. I am so glad I did.

The fan is really silent, sometimes i have to check if it is still working because i cant hear it spinning, which is a good thing. The fan blades are really cooling the fan considering that I own an AMD laptop. Great buy for the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] product is great in theory and the specs wouldve met my needs in positioning the cooler between my laptop and my furinno lap desk but i was disappointed to find that it simply doesnt have any cooling effect whatsoever on my hp envy 15 (0 degrees difference in several controlled tests at different levels of cpu load)
