Using this adapter as an offset can solve issues when adjacent monitors overlap or when more room is required to be able to allow more flexibility with the mount. Using the adapter as a VESA extension allows for the conversion of a 100 x 200 VESA mount into a 200 x 200 or a 100 x 100 VESA into a 100 x200 VESA.
