What customers are saying

This corded landline phone has a mixed reception, with both positive and negative feedback. Customers appreciate the large buttons and display, good sound quality, and useful features like the speakerphone and answering machine. Many find the phone easy to use, especially for those with vision or dexterity issues. However, some report issues with area code recognition, lack of an English manual, and limited contact storage. A few also found the build quality lacking, with the phone breaking down quickly. While the large, user-friendly design and reliable corded functionality are strengths, the limited features and potential quality issues are drawbacks to consider.

    Does the job!

    Reviewed by Rachel - October 22, 2013

We recently scaled back our home phone package with Bell and removed the answering service feature so we needed a phone with a built in answering machine. We decided to go corded as we already have a cordless phone system at home. This phone does the job and we are happy with it for the price we paid. It is pretty easy to navigate. The only downside is that even though we pay for call display with Bell, this phone does not show the caller in the ID window unless they are a person you have saved in your address book. Minor annoyance for the monthly savings of not paying Bell for an answering service.

    Good Land Line Phone

    Reviewed by Gary H - June 24, 2017

Good sized screen with lots of options. Especially like the answering machine, speaker phone, call log call back features. Bought as a replacement kitchen wall phone. The difficulty comes when you want a longer phone cord as they are no longer carried in most stores. Was able to locate one in a large box store that provides home building supplies. These phones are extremely dependable during electrical outages but appear to be a dying breed.

    Good enough

    Reviewed by Ray - September 7, 2016

I've had this phone for about a week now. And for the most part I like it. Good sound quality, speaker option is good. Has a good answering mc. Can store numbers etc etc. Two things I wish this phone had: the ability to store a list of "blocked numbers" (for those annoying automated telemarketer calls) and the ability to change ring tone. This phone only has one ring tone - the old-fashioned "tring tring". I got this phone to replace my Panasonic cordless DECT phone which I've been using forever and is still is good working condition. My cordless phone has a lot of great features and giving them up has been an adjustment. The only reason I decided to give it up is that I'm concerned about harmful EMF radiations as I'm reading that cordless phones are just as problematic as cell phones. Since I have a small apt, I don't really need a cordless phone so I decided to switch to an old-fashioned corded phone.

    Did not work

    Reviewed by Degs - January 25, 2023

I order the phone online a couple of years ago, Got the phone 2 days after i order it, Connected it up when i got it, Tried to phone my sister, The phone had so much static on it, I could Barely here her, I told her to call me back, I let the phone ring twice , Then it cut out, She tried to call me again the same thing happened. I have talked to other people who order the same phone, They said they had the same problem with it, Like i had, I would advise no one to get this phone, Also it is cheaply made. For the price of it, I have seen other landline phones , For $10.00 more then this phone, That are made a lot better then it.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

    Needs a dsl filter.

    Reviewed by Del - May 27, 2020

This requires a DSL filter which is not included in the purchase otherwise you cannot call out and the phone makes a noise/sound when using. I have to return this. Waiting for the return label. Not recommended.

    Review ATT corded Landline phone

    Reviewed by Phaedra - February 10, 2026

This is the 3rd time over some years now buying this exact same corded landline phone. I love itl Answering machine too is built in. It never breaks down. The only reason I got this one is the one cord connecting the power so the answering machine works and you can see the display broke. Even after that I could use the phone for talking only. The numbers on the keys were fading so I thought I'd just replace the entire phone. I had looked for the broken power cord at a few places but they don't carry them. I thnk due to the old landline phone you have to probably order it online or direct with the company. I've recommended this phone to many who want a landline phone.

    Great corded phones

Reviewed by carynn komiyama - March 6, 2014

The order came quickly to my door, shipping was free! I purchased five (5) corded phones to replace the cordless phones throughout the house to decrease the WiFi in our home. The phones were easy to assemble and connect - they all work perfectly and I love them. Being seniors, we love the big keys and easy to read numbers - the call display is easy to read and we can adjust the volumes of the ringer and the voice. The only drawback is that they are only available in black - I would have preferred white, however the price was right!!! I would definitely recommend these phones.

    Love this Phone!

    Reviewed by Jane - January 22, 2016

What a great phone. So glad to get rid of all the cordless ones we can't find and battery goes dead. I have this on my home office desk and since I do a lot of volunteer calling, this is great. I can deal with papers and notes and not have to dial on the receiver. Numbers are huge - great for us seniors and call display is super. Easy to answer in the dark also. So thrilled they had this 'oldie' in stock. I read reviews and chose this over the other cheaper choice. Glad I did! Very easy to set up and access features.

    Excellent!

I was tired of seeing blackout caller ID screen and replacing batteries every year in old cordless phone. The option was either to buy a new instrument, or continue buying new batteries. During the span of 6-8 years, I did buy 3 instruments because of the same reason - but now, not anymore. I know that buying a corded phone limits the freedom of mobility but I am sure that there will be no more expenses buying batteries/instrument. It has been almost 15 days using (CL4940) and I am very happy with all its features.
