The 10GBASE-BXD "downstream" connects to the 10GBASE-BXU "upstream" transceivers, or to any IEEE-standard 10GBASE-BXU "upstream" device. A 10GBASE-BXD transceiver must be purchased in conjunction with a 10GBASE-BXU product.
