Axis & Allies & Zombies takes the classic strategy gameplay of Axis & Allies and adds an entirely new threat to the battlefield. Players still command the major powers of World War II, build armies, capture territory, and battle enemy nations, but every conflict now has the potential to create more undead.
With conventional enemies on one front and flesh-eating hordes on another, commanders must rethink familiar strategies. Do you invest in conventional tanks, or is it finally time for a chainsaw tank?

World War II Just Got Weirder
At first, the war unfolds much as expected.
The Axis war machine is pushing across the globe while the Allied powers attempt to stop its advance.
Then the dead begin getting back up.
Every battlefield casualty potentially makes the zombie problem worse, creating an additional threat that doesn't care which side of the war you're fighting for.
Players must now balance two objectives:
Defeat the opposing powers and survive the zombie outbreak.
Five Major Powers
Players take command of one of the five major powers involved in the global conflict.
Each nation has its own forces, starting positions, territories, and strategic priorities, but the arrival of the undead creates a problem shared by everyone.
Traditional Axis & Allies strategies still matter, including:

Protecting production

Coordinating offensives

Managing resources

Controlling strategically important regions

The difference is that battles can now leave behind something considerably worse than a defeated enemy army.
Zombies on the Battlefield
Zombies introduce an unpredictable third force into the war.
As battles create casualties, the undead population can grow, potentially turning heavily contested territories into increasingly dangerous locations.
Commanders must decide when to concentrate on their human opponents and when the zombie threat has become too serious to ignore.
This creates situations where even a successful battle can have unexpected consequences.
New Weapons for a New War
Fortunately, the world's military engineers aren't completely helpless.
Axis & Allies & Zombies introduces appropriately over-the-top ways of dealing with the undead, including the memorable Chainsaw Tank.
The result maintains the strategic foundation of Axis & Allies while adding a deliberately pulpy alternate-history theme.
