[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Yeti Midnight Blue Microphone is excellent. The colour and design are both gorgeous and match my office decor. The microphone is very easy to set up and plug in via USB, and the stand is adjustable for perfect desktop positioning. The sound is crystal clear and is a brilliant tool for professional podcasting. With its broadcast quality audio and various settings including instant mute, microphone gain and pickup pattern switch, it offers flexible recording suitable for many projects.

    Sturdy base and crisp sound.

    Reviewed by Dylan - December 4, 2019

I've used this microphone now for around 6 months. I've kept it in the stand and haven't added it to a boom arm. The base is very sturdy. As a side effect of its weight, however, is that it will pick up bumps and nudges on my desk. On the base of the stand is a thin isolation pad, but it doesn't help much. The sound quality is what you'd expect for this price point. In addition to the sound isolation issue, I am subtracting a star from the score because the support bars and screws that hold the mic in place in the stand seem to have some quality control issues and are slightly out-of-whack. However, you don't adjust the mic very often, and so it isn't that much of an issue.

    Best mic evah!!!

So I bought the teal version of this bad monster at a hundred bucks on the end-of-year discount. All I can say is... wow!!! I do consulting and teaching and am on videoconferencing apps 6-8 hours per day and the sound quality is phenomenal. Combine this bad boy with a decent webcam upgrade and a ring light and you're up to a very good broadcasting quality, fine for videoconferencing, social media videos and whatnot. Note: I appreciate the headphone input and use it, but would NOT be plugging and unplugging constantly... that's where some users seem to have encountered problems. Also, I bought a cheap foam cover and that helps considerably to muffle undesired sounds.

    Warning!!!

Don't buy this mic if you care about the well being of anyone you are talking to through discord or whatever. No matter what setting you have adjusted for the mic it will pick up any back ground noise no matter what. If you are chilling with friends online and have family watching tv down the hall or in the next room, the mic will pick it up. You can have the gain all the way down and it will pick any background chatter or noise no matter what. If you are home alone and nothing making noise in your home, then you are fine. Please don't consider buying this product without researching and reading about the issues about this mic brings. Consider buying a Different Mic.

    Blue Yeti is great

    Reviewed by DMC - November 28, 2013

I use this microphone with Dragon Speaking and am very happy with it. I can be 12 inches plus away from the mic dictating, speaking conversationally and the pickup and accuracy of my dictation is very commendable. My only con is that the volume and gain controls seem to be very flimsy, not in keeping with the quality of the rest of the device. It shouldn't be a problem in that I won't be using those two controls very much. When you install the mic, you might find that your speakers don't work. Go into control and click on "Sound' icon. With mine, three icons displayed. Disable all icons except the one that has 'Speaker", that should fix the problem. I recommend this product as being very worthy.

    good beginner mic

    Reviewed by mstamarindball - March 16, 2026

I wanted a mic to start doing recordings and didn't want something too expensive or complex, and this fits the bill. It has an included cord to connect the mic to your laptop (you'd need an adaptor for anything smaller than a USB-A), and a headphone jack so you can hear yourself as you sound through the mic as you're recording. It really is plug-and-play and I didn't have to figure anything out as my computer discovered and began using it for input automatically. I snugged a sock over top to act as a makeshift popper-stopper and it worked fine. It's not a small mic, but if you're putting it on a desk surface then it's fine.

    Excellent quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of this microphone is amazing, there is not echo or talkback like you get with some. The sound is crystal clear. The colour of this one is lovely, the size is quite big yet is the perfect size. I have mine plugged into my pc and it’s as simple as plug in and use. My daughter now likes to use it when she does video calls with school and everyone has commented how it sounds amazing with even her teachers going and buying a few for school. I most definitely highly recommend this product to everyone it is perfect for all your microphone needs I will definitely be investing in a couple more for my other computers.

Had for a year, still works like brand new!

    Reviewed by Ari - January 27, 2017

I've been using it in my studio for over a year, been using for voicing animation projects and network cartoons. Had it for a year and the microphone still works like brand new from the box. Would recommend the Yeti to anyone. Bought the Samson Meteor, and other competitor and returned them the same day! Both had horrible manufacturer defects, static noise, and cable problems. It is safe to say that Blue is one of the best companies to make recording devices in the whole market. P.S - be sure to cover it from dust and get a pop filter!

    Easy to use, great quality

    Reviewed by John - February 23, 2016

This is one of the most popular microphones (among others) used for podcasts and sound recordings for online videos (at least from my research). I've had it for only a couple days now but I love it! The sound quality is great and can be easily adjusted (the microphone has built-in knobs to control the gain and pattern type). It has a sturdy metal base. Best of all you simple plug it in via the USB cable and it's ready to go (no need to install drivers, purchase an additional amplifier, etc. - I just plugged it right into my laptop) so I was basically recording as soon as I took it out of the box :D
