I just bought this a month ago. It seemed to be doing well. Seemed quieter than my other grinder which I liked. Anyhoo this morning I added some beans and pushed the button. It went for a second then quit. I cleaned out what I could by rotating the burrs and brushing out anything I could see. I added more bean and it worked for a second but back to the flashing green light. Now the Grinder Upper Group Assembly is stuck and I cannot get it out. So access is not possible. If anything is lodged there really isn't anyway to take apart all the pieces. Im super frustrated and cannot return the grinder because I lost the receipt. What a waste of money...

I owned a KMM 20 for 41 years before the motor burned out and replaced it with this grinder. What a disappointment. While it is quiet it will not grind beans fine enough even for drip brews. The espresso setting (1) is so coarse and results in horrid lattes or cappuccinos. I thought perhaps the upper burr was not locked or seated properly but everything appears okay. I have attached a photograph of ground Kicking Horse coffee and Kicking Horse beans ground in the Braun. It will be returned to the point of purchase if there is no solution offered.

Burnt out the 1st one in 1 yrs exactly. Got a replacement on warranty, now 2 years later this one is dead too. But cant get it replaced as its 2yr warranty on original purchase date.

For the price it's not a bad deal if you can live with the noise. We use it for grinding coffee for a stove top espresso maker and for a bodum press. A setting of 2 (fine grind) for espresso and 8 (course grind) for the bodum works great and gives nice even, consistent size every time and does it fairly quickly. It's a nice size (4.5"w x 7.5"l x 10.5"h) with good capacity. Also, per the instructions "Only adjust the grinding setting when grinding process has already been started (at a standstill, the beans might jam)". The machine is fairly noisy and this seems to come mainly from the motor, or maybe type of motor, being used. When first starting the grinding process the motor is grinding at a slower, or normal speed, but near the end with just a few beans left, the motor starts spinning at a much higher speed and is louder. A stronger motor that runs at a slow, consistent speed is what is needed, but this would probably increase the cost dramatically. Sometimes I will take the machine and step outside on the porch to grind if someone is sleeping. It also helps to turn it off near the end if there is only one bean left. Another issue is that the ground coffee tends to stick to the plastic container, but you are given a very useful brush to clean it out. You may find it easier to dump the container into a coffee tin all at once over the sink to limit the mess of particles escaping. I may try to come up with my own paper or cardstock insert for the container. Also, you might find the rubber feet really grip the counter surface making it a little difficult to handle as you will need to pick it up to position it. To make life easier and allow it to slide on the counter, just cut some small squares of masking tape and stick them on to the feet and it will slide very easily. Overall it works fine if you can live with the noise. It appears the Braun website does not offer replacement of the burr grinder parts so I hope they last a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this Braun grinder my family is big on grinding our own coffee beans we like that fresh taste and really like the features this has like the 9 settings which can grind regular coffee, espresso beans or French press for that coarse coffee. We are big on coffee so this is an amazing investment.

I can fill my house with the freshness smell of coffee twice, once as it grinds and the other as it brews into my favorite cup. Never new how much I missed a coffee grinder until now. Makes the perfect addition. To my coffee bar.

I bought the grinder about a year ago as my old Gaggia grinder died after 25 year service. In the beginning I had set the coarseness to about 4 -5 to suite my taste. Now I have turned it all the way down to 1 and still the grinding is very coarse. It also happen often that the beans don't enter the grinder. I then have to give a hard shake to the machine to get the beans entering again. Sorry to say but my experience with Braun equipment is not positive. Most of the ones I purchased in the past did not last beyond 2 years. Braun has serious quality issues in my opinion.

I had been told for several years that a burr grinder is what I needed to make a really good cup of coffee. I had been using a blade grinder and seldom could get my coffee ground just like it needed to be to avoid over extraction. This flat burr grinder is easy to use and produces excellent results and does so consistently. Just be sure to read the manual as there is a few things you have to do in a particular order or you will not be able to adjust the grinder and not be a happy camper. I have never had such a good cup of coffee. Not bitter at all, smooth and tasty!

This is my very first coffee Bean grinder and I'm ever thankful to Braun for this wonderful piece of art. Not only is this coffee grinder gorgeous but it had so many functions and capabilities. With multiple settings for a superb grind each and every time. I'm able to enjoy many styles of brew. This machine grinds perfectly, looks gorgeous, therefore adding even more style to my cozy coffee corner and the price is quite fair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am loving my coffee grinder, I no longer have to buy ground coffee or wait to use the machine in the store that has who knows what in it. It is a small sized appliance that doesn't take up much room at all and you get the benefit of fresh grind just the way you want it. I love that I can choose what size grind I want depending on how I want to make my coffee and it is consistent! My coffee tastes so fresh and good, I can't imagine going back. This is so easy to use and clean up is easy too.
