We have been making waffles for years, mainly Belgian waffles. Breville is the best waffle maker we have own so far. Waffles come out perfectly cooked and with a nice shade of brown. Settings of the machine are easy to understand and very easy to use. A simple dial turns the waffles darker or lighter to our taste (of the day). The incorporated timer is a huge help, no more guessing. Simply pour the mix, close the lid, wait for the timer to stop, lift the lid and voila, done! We also used it for hash browns and sandwiches. Even added 2 eggs to the waffle mix and everything comes out perfect. Highly recommend this waffle maker.

The only thing, a bit hard to clean. Otherwise it’s the best!

The Smart Waffle Pro 4 Slice is amazing! Our family has grown so we just got a second one. We've used the first every 2 weeks for about 5 years and it's still like new. Easily the best small kitchen appliance purchase we've made. I cooked at 2 breakfast restaurants growing up and these waffle makers are much better than the professional waffle makers we had in the restaurants. The features and settings are amazing. It's extremely durable and the non stick surface works better than any other waffle maker I've tried. I rarely write reviews, but these waffle makers have been such a blessing to our family. Thank you Breville for making such a great quality product.

I just received this waffle maker for Christmas from my wonderful husband. I never had a waffle maker before so wasn't sure what to expect. After doing lots of research online and reading reviews I decided I wanted this one. I would rather pay a little extra for something that is going to last and that is a good quality product. We have made waffles a bunch of times now for breakfast and I think I have found a wonderful recipe for the perfect waffles. The waffles are light and fluffy and the perfect golden brown. This waffle maker is awesome and I would recommend this to anyone who is considering buying a waffle maker. I'm now considering other Breville products for my kitchen.

Our luck with waffle makers has not been great. We have had a few, but to be honest, we didn't make waffles often because of the mess and inconsistent cook of the waffles. Our last waffle maker really underperformed, and most distressingly the plug at the wall outlet got so hot we needed oven mitts to unplug it. So, I did a little research, and this Breville smart waffle maker seemed to get great reviews, so after comparison with several other types, we decided to try it. And first time, the waffles turned out perfectly, using the buttermilk waffle recipe. Just tonight, I made classic waffles for the first time in my life (my wife normally made waffles while I cooked bacon/sausage). They turned out beautiful! Yeah, it's expensive, but if you have to keep replacing lesser units every year or so, it think it's going to turn out to be a good investment. Bravo, Breville!

Hearty large squares in the 4-fer. 1 downside, bottom frame is deep, hard to lift out without utensil of some sort, preferably with pointy end to dig in, but this risks scratching non stick surface. Takes longer than the ATKitchen preferred 3-4 minutes to have brown waffles but when finally done, you do get nice waffles. Lid lifts back enough to clear filling iron with batter. Also good for "will it waffle" items. Needs large size storage footprint because very solid unit. Definitely family size. Individuals or couple might be satisfied with the 2-fer model. I repeat, the sections are large.

We are so happy with how well this waffle maker performs. The waffles come out perfect everytime! You have the ability to control the cooking time which is nice when your making different types of waffles. We also love that it makes four waffles in one go, which is great with a large family. Points to ponder.....Getting the waffles out can be tricky and is best done with a wooden chop stick so you don't risk scratching the iron. Clean up can be challenging if there are lots of crumbs in the iron. Otherwise no other issues with the waffle maker, highly recommend buying!

This is exactly as the others described. It’s well built, solid and makes perfect waffles. Not only that, there’s a distinct difference between the different modes. The other waffle makers are either flimsy and/or give you a very unevenly cooked waffle. This is our 3rd or 4th product from Breville and we’re not disappointed. This is a very pleasant surprise as I didn’t expect there to be such a difference. The timer, cooking modes and display are a very good touch and add to the excellent waffles it makes, which is the most important thing after all

A very well-made appliance! Two comments: (1) The Canadian version of the Operating Manual does not include any recipes, unlike the Australian version. You can find them online but including at least the 5 basic recipes would be helpful. (2) IMHO, there should be a caution in the Manual against setting the locking latch and then using the appliance handle to carry the appliance. My perception is that the lock latch is not strong enough to support the weight of the machine, and the Manual should warn against that use of the latch.

Appears to be well built machine, the quality and feel of materials is great (as usual with all the Breville products I've purchased). Intelligent/smart functions - pretty much plug & play. Not much to do other than get the waffle batter ready and pour ! The griddle/waffle plates are non-stick, so NO oiling is needed (contrary to some other reviews I've read) - I had absolutely no problem. The waffle size produced on this unit are quite big, so 1 waffle would be a reasonable portion.
