[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this microwave. I needed a compact microwave to fit on an 11” shelf. I wanted one that was quiet. This microwave for the bill! I opened up the drywall so the microwave could sit farther back and I added a large vent on the other side of the wall. I love the soft close door feature and that I can mute the sound. Note: The silver finish doesn’t match stainless steel appliances. Only the door handle, knob and a small band on the bottom are shiny stainless steel. Note to Breville: I would have paid extra to have a true stainless steel finish and some of the features of their higher end microwaves in a compact size.

I'm impressed with the quality and solid build of this unit not cheap or thin metal like a lot of other brands. The 1350 watt rated makes it quick heating a lot of other brands this size only come in 700 watt rating. The soft close door is easy open and close especially for people with arthritic hands and it's very very quiet. The short cut features and control buttons make any cooking job very easy. The start button has a one touch automatic 30 second heat and the round dial turned left to decrease seconds or minutes and turn to the right to increase seconds or minutes easily.I can't say enough about the quality and features of this unit. It's a well thought out unit I think anyone will be very pleased with.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave is a beautiful addition to our kitchen. It is the perfect size and what I love the most is the bright Red and Green buttons. My elderly parents can't see well nor do they know how to operate the microwave so having these bright big buttons is very helpful. The door does not slam when closed, but has a soft close which is refreshing. Doesn't wake me up from my naps.. The dial is very nice and smooth, easier to set the timer. Overall, I recommend this microwave to all, especially for the elderly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I inherited a microwave from a friend when I moved to a new place and I had not realized how much small design deficiencies can irritate me. Things like noisy doors that don't close and open easily, confusing settings, and general lack of care for aesthetics detract from the joy of daily life. The Breville Compact Wave SOFT CLOSE(!) Microwave solved all of these issues for me. It's really nice looking, the door is quiet except for a nice confirming "click" and it does soft close. You can set the buttons to be silent (nice!) and the program settings include a "food menu" with graphic explanations on shown when you open the door. Low-tech, but cool in my opinion. Additionally, there are buttons for: Reheat, Popcorn, Beverage and Defrosting. Depending on what feature you're using, you can specify ounces, cups, or quantity. The time setting is a dial. Very nice as well. It's easy to use and attractive, and it cooks as expected.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great little Microwave that does not eat up a lot of counter top real estate. A full size dinner plate or a two quart microwave proof dish or a 9x9 dish all fit just fine into the lighted east to clean interior. The exterior is beautiful and also easy to clean and will look good in any kitchen. The easy close feature takes over as you get the door close to the microwave and finishes closing it for you, no worries about it closing when that is not what you are trying to do. Its powerful. Water boiled in a one cup (8 oz) measuring cup in 1 minute and 43 seconds and popcorn pops faster than it did in my older microwave. I did not use one of the two microwave preset sizes for the popcorn as one was too small and the other was too large, I just did it by listening to the popcorn pop as recommended by the popcorn manufacturers anyway. It operates very quietly and when its not needed or desired you can silence the beep, which I feel is a very nice feature. The pre set logic on this microwave is a bit different than what I had used before, but once you understand the train of thought it was designed with, it really is easy to operate.

Cons: * A tad too small - just barely fits my plates. My Review: Breville products consistently bring premium quality and design to your kitchen countertop. This compact microwave oven is no exception. Everything about it says “I may be small, but I’m not cheap.” The build quality is top-notch and the overall design is well thought-out from the controls to the way the door soft-closes. The control panel buttons have a nice feel to them and are large, easy to read and easy to press when cooking. They are membrane keys which means that they are easy to clean with no gaps to collect food from dirty fingers. The rotary knob is an intuitive control for increasing or decreasing the time or quantities, although it would be a tad more intuitive to be able to press in on it to select items in menus, etc. The display is very basic with just digits and a few words around the screen that are indicated by segments on the display when needed. Since this unit has a numbers-only screen, the “Food Menu” function has a printed key just to the left of the control panel that is only visible while the door is open. This is a convenient touch to compensate for a basic screen while still keeping the information handy and not cluttering up things with the door closed. There are large “Start” and “Stop” buttons and handy “Clock” and “Mute” shortcut buttons to set or change the clock and silence the beeps without having to dig into menus. The actual microwaving part is exactly as you’d expect. This is not a huge and powerful unit, but gets the job done - especially for its size. My only real concern with this “compact” microwave is that my standard-sized square plates just barely fit in it. A small unit like this will probably be used for reheating plates and drinks and making popcorn most of the time rather than cooking from scratch. Be sure to check that your plates and cups will fit in before choosing this smaller unit and if necessary, upgrade to their mid-size one instead. The interior opening dimensions are: 11.75” wide, 12” deep and 8” tall with a tad more room inside if you can get past the opening. For the record, my square plates are 10.75” x 10.75” but are 12.25” in diameter so while they fit through the opening, they barely have enough room to rotate during operation thanks to the slightly larger dimensions inside. Provided the size meets your needs, you will not be disappointed in this compact microwave oven. The design, build quality and features definitely match its premium feel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely LOVE my new Breville Compact Wave Soft Close Microwave Love the simple display panel, auto on button set at 30 seconds. That’s what I use most of the time anyway. AND the easy dial to change time is super easy. PLUS LOVE option to mute the beeping AND disable the door lock. Oh, and the soft closing door makes a HUGE difference. Friends spent the weekend and LOVED the microwave too. Commented how simple and easy my microwave was to use. Give my Breville microwave a 10 +++

After having a multitude of hand me down microwaves, I finally splurged on this microwave. My first new microwave. It does everything a microwave should do. Could’ve purchased a cheaper microwave, but this microwave has a quiet slam door. Fancy. I ordered it and it arrived when it arrived. I’m not one to gripe about orders not arriving the day before I ordered it. From the manufacturer to the middlemen to the delivery, everything went tickety boo. A heartfelt thank you to all involved. They should make a small hand waving emoji. Would be perfect for micro wave.

Bought a GE and returned it, bought the Samsung and returned it. These first 2 felt cheap and the doors were cheap. Bought The Breville and love it! Heavy sturdy for a small microwave and Great quality.
